Each of our experiences at the same facility can greatly variate due to a number of changing variables: different units, different doctors, different nurses and support staff, as well as different patients on the unit with each of our loved ones.As a direct caregiver as a profession and as a parent I can tell you no two situations are ever alike. Support services are hard to find and easy to criticize. We live in a state that our state legislature does not see mental health as a top priority. I appreciate anyone who gives their life to support people in mental health crisis. It is a very difficult job. Staff gets hit by patients, cussed out by parents, spoken ill of... but who turns around to say thank you? I will. Thank you to the staff at Brentwood for caring for my son, again, as throughout his life, and discharging him today. He said all the staff was good to him. Thank you, and thank you Mr Rick for a great conversation in the lobby as I wanted. It was greatly appreciated. Thank you. Mental illness will never have a "cure", and it truly takes us all working together and managing our loved ones in order to improve their quality of life. Thank you!
