About Life Changers Outreach – Tennessee Men Center

Life Changers Outreach – Tennessee Men Center, located in Kodak, Tennessee, is a one year discipleship program for men struggling with various types of life-controlling issues. They use a non-medical, non-psychiatric approach that focuses on inner healing for deeper-rooted issues that are at the center of the addiction.

Life Changers Outreach – Tennessee Men Center offers faith-based residential treatment.

Residential treatment is for individuals who need a high level of support and accountability during the initial phase of their recovery. Mental, emotional, and physical stability are primary focal points. Once they are achieved, deeper inner work is started. This can include individual therapy, group therapy, family counseling, and addiction educational classes. Specific topics may include emotional regulation, anger management, trauma-informed care, relapse prevention, and life skills classes such as financial stability, education, and workforce readiness. At Life Changers Outreach, residential treatment focuses on the discipleship and the Word of Jesus Christ as primary healers and motivators for change.

Faith-based treatment utilizes the spiritual beliefs and teachings of a particular faith to help individuals overcome addiction. Through a connection to their Higher Power, or the God of their religion, overcoming defeating behaviors is thought to become possible. This usually involves daily time spent in prayer, devotion, or reflection to create a deeper connection and the feeling of support through this connection. The Life Changers Men’s Program is a Christian-based program that focuses on the healing power of Jesus Christ. Through studying the Gospel, participants focus on deepening their personal, and spiritual connection and applying what they learn to their life on a daily basis.

Group therapy involves treatment through the process of connecting in a group setting to discuss and work through mental, emotional, and physical issues. There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving support in a rehab aftercare program typically have abstained from drugs or alcohol for a period of weeks or months and have completed high-level (often inpatient) treatment. Drug rehab aftercare is designed to support clients in maintaining their sobriety as they re-engage with their ordinary lives at home, in the workplace, and in the community. Services are highly individualized and evolve with clients' changing needs, but generally include peer coaching and relapse prevention.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home in Tennessee, also known as a halfway house, refers to a group residence for men or women who are recovering from addiction. These are usually privately owned homes or houses owned by a nonprofit or business. Most are located in quiet residential areas. Residents have their own rooms or share a room with one roommate, and they share common areas. Each resident pays rent and helps with household maintenance.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
To keep you safe and comfortable during the detoxification process, a medically assisted detox provides you with a team of medical professionals who can provide the necessary medications to treat any potential withdrawal symptoms. Suddenly stopping chronic abuse of substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines, or opioids can have uncomfortable and even dangerous side effects.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When your day-to-day life is taken over by drug use, this is known as substance use disorder. If you abruptly stop using your drug of choice, you experience withdrawal symptoms. To overcome this cycle, professional drug rehab in Tennessee is usually needed.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Many individuals who are experiencing addiction are extremely malnourished. This is due to negative patterns that develop during active addiction. Nutrition therapy helps break these negative patterns and teaches you to develop healthy ones that will help you sustain sobriety long term.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

I won't say my experience at Life Changers Outreach was bad but clearly it could have been a lot better. The first six months were filled with lessons and improvements but after the 7th month it just seemed like I wasn't improving anymore.

Great program to help the addicts that want help and spiritual guidance. I noticed a few mentioned the weekend fundraiser from residents. Well the program is free to them. So it makes since for individuals to help out with their housing, food, clothes etc. Unless and a family member wants to foot that yearly bill for their loved one then nothing absolutely NOTHING is wrong with fundraising! May God continue to bless this ministry with many more residents. I know several that have been there and man what a transformation.

Though Lifechangers is a Christian based rehabilitation facility & they do want thier intakes to focus on Jesus & that part does help; they also work them until they fall asleep behind the wheel of the car doing fundraising. They send 3 women out to fundraise for 4 days and only one of the women has a driver's license so that one is required to drive at least 13 hours straight on little to no sleep. It's basically free labor. I do not recommend this place because of the danger they put your loved ones life in.

Lifechangers outreach ministries is a blessing from God I spent time in their program and through the obedient servants of God there like Apostle Mark God brought me out of 36 years of active addiction without this ministry I don't think I'd have lived much longer or became the Pastor that God has called me to be

I met a man at Tractor Supply in MA last night. I got some shirts and necklaces and the man prayed for me. I absolutely LOVE everything that Life Changers Outreach is about and would love to support more in anyway possible. I honestly don t believe I could ever forget that man, his prayer or the entire experience.

It is a great yearly program that will help anyone who wants to learn more about Jesus and/or life changing experiences with good morals and healthy habits. If you are down and out with a mindset that you are willing and ready to surrender and submit your life over to God this is the place to be. Also if you don't have the money, clothes, insurance or grant you can call Life Changers and they will accept you free of charge. As long as they have a bed available, 13 different house nationwide.

This Ministry helped change the course of my brother's life who struggled with addiction for over 19 years. By joining Life Changers and putting his faith in Jesus Christ, it's given him purpose to help others find the same help in the Ministry that he received. If anyone out there is struggling with any sort of addiction I highly recommend Life Changers. Thanks.
