Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehab programs enable clients to integrate addiction treatment with their routine work and home life. Many facilities offer virtual services and evening, night, and weekend sessions to accommodate clients' schedules. Outpatient care typically includes rigorous psychotherapy, including group and family counseling. Most programs also prioritize addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is common for clients with alcohol and/or opioid dependency.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Clients often choose to enter intensive outpatient programs (IOP) when they exit inpatient rehab. Others turn to IOP as an alternative to hospitalization. Intensive outpatient rehabs offer high-level care for clients in early recovery and those at an elevated risk of relapse, typically requiring them to commit to between nine and 20 hours of treatment per week. The most prevalent treatment modalities include psychotherapy, recovery education, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and holistic therapies, such as meditation.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Each sober living home in Utah is a residence, not a treatment center. This setting does not provide clinical or medical treatment, but many residents attend recovery groups or outpatient rehab while staying at the home. The setting, also called a halfway house, offers a balance between structure and accountability and living in the "real world," to help people transition from treatment to everyday life.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

If your friend or family member is suffering physically or psychologically from substance use but denies there is a problem, it might be time for a drug intervention in Utah. This process involves meeting with an intervention specialist from a facility's intervention services program. This specialist will interview family members to gain an understanding of the situation, then facilitate the intervention. Their expertise can prove invaluable in navigating this complex confrontation.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

In order to ensure your safety during the withdrawal process, rehabs offer 24-hour clinical care in Utah. You have access to experienced medical staff around the clock, and they can adminsiter treatments or perform clincial interventions that lessen withdrawal symptoms and make you more comfortable. Teatments can include medications, nutritional supplements, and mental health counseling.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Medical detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from your body under the care of medical professionals. In an inpatient environment, you'll be monitored 24/7 by doctors, nurses, and clinical experts, who will help keep you as safe and comfortable as possible and administer medication if needed to treat any withdrawal symptoms. The process may take up to a week or longer depending on your needs, and is often at least partially covered by insurance.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

The foundation of motivational interviewing in Utah rests on four pillars: partnership, evocation, acceptance, and compassion. The therapist collaborates with the client, encouraging them to explore their options and make informed decisions about making changes in their lives.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy in Utah uses eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones to help you process and integrate traumatic memories. The process follows an eight phase protocol applied by a therapist who has undergone specialized training. EMDR is client centered, which allows you to control the pace and the intensity of the sessions.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Nutrition Therapy

Active addiction can quickly lead to malnutrition. This makes recovery even harder because your body doesn't have the nutrients it needs to function. During nutrition therapy, you'll learn about the effects of substance use on the body, how food can help your mental health, and how to maintain a nutritious diet.

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Recreational therapy helps you in your addiction recovery program by improving your overall well being. Activities can include sports, music, and nature excursions that give you positive experiences, reduce your cravings, and offer the opportunity to reduce your stress. These aid in your addiction recovery.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

Specialists trained in creative arts therapy can incorporate methods such as art, music, and writing therapy in your treatment program. These expressive methods may be combined with psychodynamic therapy and mindfulness based approaches.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

This is the worst hospital that I have been to in my life. Their services are so disorganized. It is absolutely impossible for outpatients to see the Doctor, paperwork is always screwed up and the staff makes excuses for that instead of correcting the issues. I would not rec ... Read More

The doctors should go back to school worst emergency doctors ever I would never go back there again I know my body and they tell me it s nothing and 3 days later go to a different hospital and ha an emergency gut surgery. If you need the hospital trust me go somewhere else. You will get there things will go fast then next thing you know you are waiting 3 hours for someone o come talk to you service is a joke I would die before going back to lake view

Had spine surgery May 2024. I remember very little of my 4-day stay at Lakeview. From what I do remember, the pain management was terrible. I did not receive consistent pain meds, sometimes not enough, sometimes way too much. People who came to visit me said I was definitely not well cared for. Not a good place for me to recover. I had to go to a care facility for a few days before I could go home.

If I could give negative stars, I would. JULY 29TH 2024 @ 9:20PM. No one came out to help us get my elderly father out of the car after telling the front desk troll that his blood oxygen was was steadily going down. She didn't seem to care at all. We ended up waiting for help and ultimately took him to the University of Utah Hospital, where he was seen quickly and now in the ICU fighting for his life, when he would have surely died from the blatant negligence and apathy of the Lakeview ER staff. Do not bring your emergencies to these fools. Your loved ones are not safe with them. They do not care.

Was sent home, from miscarriage almost bled to death doctors didn t care when we came back and were annoyed I was asking for help. Kept telling me it s normal with the medication I was on. Went because for surgery the surgeon was amazing and so kind. Said I lost 5 units of blood and did not pass any of the tissue from miscarrying just passing large blood clots and said if I wasn t seen 5 to 10 minutes later I could have died. The OR staff was incredible but the ER staff was extremely rude and disregarded my concerns and my pain trying to send me home. I do not recommend this hospital if you have an emergency. I m so greatful for the surgeon

Doctor wanted to send my husband home with a diagnosis of "strained elbow" without even getting an MRI but we pushed for an MRI that they didn't want to do because "they don't do MRIs on weekends" results came back with high-grade tearing. Extremely unprofessional, lazy, wrong. Go LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE, but here.Tell me how this EMERGENCY ROOM doesn't have access to an MRI on the weekends. I can't even make this up. Instacare doesn't do MRI, so we come to the EMERGENCY ROOM just to be told they don't have access to MRI on the weekends. Which is usually when the cost injuries happen. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Was admitted in January the Dr. was kind at least to my knowledge, but some of the nurses overnight were cruel I could hear one saying that she doesn t feel bad for me at all, like EXCUSE ME???? Go ahead and have your own opinions but keep it professional in the work place! You as a nurse are there to help not let everyone know you don t feel bad for patients who are going through a hard time!

I was there last March. They did absolutely nothing for my mental health in fact they traumatized it more I had to literally play the system to get out of the mental hospital while I was there for a week and a half two weeks starting at the beginning they took my blood a girl Nurse told me something was going on my thyroid Levels I kept asking them the whole time I was there what is wrong with it No answer or excuses. Can I get the results and further testing not once did they tell me whatsoever and didn t care For my health, I was cloudy and with brain fog in there when I later got diagnosed from a different doctor From a clinic and they put me on Levothyroxine Why didn t they put me into further testing? At Lakeview, what if I was there longer my clinic doctor told me it could ve caused more damage to my system. Lakeview doesn t care about your health. They should ve put me on. Levothyroxine When I was there so I could take the medication and not be brain, fogged, thyroid condition can cause brain fog and not good quality of life Without medication the the classes there I could hardly stay awake almost falling asleep, but I pushed through to get out of there The only good thing is they feed you well that s the only good thing was the food I had to sleep with one eye open because of the scared of other people And the beds were uncomfortable I did make two good friends in there And we had each other s backs and we all played the system to get out of there and now a year and a half later I m getting collection calls from them for 1500 something dollars. From in-house collections, I told them to put me on a do not call list and I told the hospital even before I checked in that I m Disability and to write it off, and the insurance will take most of the bill So what I m saying is they don t care about their patients because they would ve gotten me help For my thyroid and mental health. Why would the bills be so expensive and they wouldn t even address my thyroid condition that s messed up I would not recommend lake Viewto anybody go somewhere else. Give me an itemized receipt and write it off. I talk to the collection person and they said oh if you don t pay it then it goes back to the The hospital and then they will decide to bring it back to in-house collections or to another collection agency I wish they would send me an itemized receipt I let them know, I wasn t gonna be able to pay it even before I was there and they took me and messed up. They never let me know about my thyroid so again I am doing better than ever with counselor that I meet with twice a month And I m doing better than ever than what Lakeview ever did I do not recommend Lakeview whatsoever.
