book iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

prescription iconDrug Addiction

Addiction is a highly complex problem, and drug rehab in Massachusetts is often necessary to address it. These programs treat physical, mental, and relational issues that are involved. Treatment empowers individuals to manage these issues without the use of drugs.

head-side-medical iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

file-medical iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

prescription-bottle-pill iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

car-building iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

clipboard-medical iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

bed-front iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Family Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

This facility saved my life. Not only did the program but the staff and I am very surprised at some of the reviews on here. They seem to be personal vendettas than honest reviews about the program. And everyone is entitled to their opinion. But it’s a shame the only peopl ... Read More

This place is disgusting and if there were any other places in clovis to take my child to for his medical treatments I would take him there instead. The receptionist are okay I suppose but the therapist lack so much professionalism. They gossip about the parents to any and everyone willing to do so and make HORRIBLE judgment calls. My child has told me numerous times that in their sessions his feelings and concerns were ignored while his therapist and grandmother gossiped about me (his mother) and my work schedule, love life, finances ect. Which totally defeats the purpose of him receiving services. Also, Trish and Veronica thought it would be in the best interest of my then 14 YEAR OLD CHILD to handle and take his meds which were given to his grandmother to then give all 7 bottles to him in secret with a promise that he wont tell his mother he has them. My child has had several issues with self harm so why any of these people thought this was a good idea is beyond me. Im seriously pissed off and I will definitely keep pushing to fix this issue because IM NOT going to lose my child because adults with semi earned degrees lack common sense. As a single mother of 5 it is hard enough to hide kitchen knives, over the counter meds, prescription meds, extension cords, shaving razors and various other sharp objects to keep my child from getting them so why are people who are supposed to help him telling him to hide meds from his mother and engaging in slander in front of him ABOUT his mother? Make it make sense. Flat out Disgusting!!!

Not impressed with this place. Had a love one get an eval done and was told needed inpatient treatment. Now we have been given the run around as to when that is going to be. Told by the head director guy it would be probably three weeks before we get the call a bed has opened up. It has now been over a month. My impression is that this place does not actually care to help. Go somewhere else that will not give you the run around and false information.

My husband went through the independence center over 30 years ago. He did relapse after the first 3 months but he did not attend any aftercare or AA. Within a year he started going to AA and has been sober for almost 35 years. My son has also been through the independence center twice with varied success. He has had relapses but maintained sobriety for the majority of the time. He has used the tools he learned there to get sober again after relapsing without having to reenter treatment. The program will work for you if your honest with yourself and do the work. Good luck and god bless!

I am so thankful for the help and resources they provide. I have been working with them for 4 months now, and everyone I have come into contact with has been very professional and have handled everything with care. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

So the therapist are good. However you cant make an appointment until the morning before. And it takes less than 5 minutes fill all their schedules. Im going to do some math. 8 hours= 8 appointments figure 20 therapists atleast 160 appointments. If 4 phones are making appointments and giving 1 minute for a super fast call, it should take 40 minutes 5 phones 32min, even 10 phones 16 minutes. But everything is most of the time full in 2 to 3 minutes. That means according to their rules of dont call until the day before. That means 80 phones had to be in use. Knowing that doesnt happen since I have gotten a busy signal many times; this rule is being broken or someone is getting special treatment. I have issues like everyone else but I have to follow the rules, like everyone else. Who is this group that gets special treatment and how can i get on it.

I love the people there. they are very helpful but I havent been able to get my son in for 4 weeks now due to day before scheduling that they just decided to start doing. Hes seen the same lady same time every 2 weeks for almost 5 months now and hes been having episodes and we cant even get in to see his counselor. This is very frustrating and inconvenience that Im going to start looking for him another place to go. Someone more reliable and dont inconvenience people. It will he hard for my son since he likes only a few people and doesnt like change. All because of new policy...

When you are ready, you are ready. I did three rehabs in the span of three summers and I ve been sober a year and a half since going to the Independence Center. The ENTIRE staff wass genuinely interested in my recovery. Of course it s up to me how honest I want to be with my counselor, Chaplin and myself (and God), but their unwavering encouragement doesn t hurt and it didn t. The facility is much better than others I ve been to in Nebraska and they keep the distracting extracurricular horseplay to minimum. They have a great culture and alumni in the A.A. and Lincoln communities.
