Very disappointed. Seems they do not care about their patients and their concerns at all. Will not be returning and do not recommend if you want a concerned doctor

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I give Krohn Clinic a 5 out of 10 review because even if the treatment was pretty good at the beginning it got to a point where there was no improvements for me.

The staff goes above and beyond each time I'm there. I love the fact they started to give age appropriate books to kids at their well-check appointments. The nursing staff makes immunizations a breeze. Having a local doctor that cares for your family as if they are your own makes small town living really special.

Was billed over a $1000 for a covid and rsv test. I didn t even see a doctor. Absolutely ridiculous. On top of that I was told my results would be ready in a couple hours and that I would be called. I had to call them several hours later to get my results. You are far better off going to Black River Memorial

Kayla in the scheduling desk was incredible. They went well above their job description today to help me navigate several insurance policies and get appointments set up within a short time frame. I honestly got teary with gratitude. Thank you, Kayla!

Was turned away service over a 300 bill. I had COVID and instead of proritizing ones health and the health of the community I was told I had to pay for the COVID test even though it's completely covered under my insurance.

Will not go back! I can't get in to see my primary care Dr., so the appointment desk sends me back to the nurse. I leave a message and Wendy, Dr Susa's nurse calls me back. she told me that she can put me on a cancellation list. Ok do that. Can I send you to the appointment desk. No I don't want that. We'll I can't put you on the cancellation list if you don't make another appointment! What?! Rude as hell, too.Update: I received a phone call from Tara, at Krohn Clinic, regarding the complaint I sent directly to the clinic. She called "to explain protocols to me." I stated that the nurse should have explained that to me instead of jumping to rude and angry. Tara then told me that I have to be honest with you, that's not how Wendy typically responds. So Krohn Clinic's response to a complaint is to shift blame onto the patient that complained. Thank you for exemplifying why patients should go elsewhere!I'm not perfect but I can own up to my mistakes. Why can't supposed "professionals" not do the same?

There are some great doctors at Krohn Clinic, however the administration of the clinic only cares about the money. I have always made regular monthly payments on all medical bills and even had them automatically withdrawn from my account. That still wasn t enough for them. They would still call me harassing me about wanting bigger payments. Now I currently owe $286.00 and I made a payment on Friday 10/28/22, and they called me on 10/31/22 to harass again about my account with them. If Black River Falls had more options we would be elsewhere for care, even though we do love our doctors.

I really DO NOT like it that I am not told whom I am seeing when seeing the Doctor on call....why can I not be told. If you get switched because of an emergency...well okay....but what is the big deal? Not happy with this policy.
