The new management in the facility and the personality of therapists and security are the best parts of this program. The contracts that the state writes with the KPEP facilities is almost enough to make you want to commit suicide. Underfunded and given very little permission to actually make improvements to the place makes creating positive changes in this place almost impossible. Despite all of this positive things do happen and I would credit this to the new management and the personality of the therapists and security who in my opinion entered the job for the correct reason.

It is a rehab facility. It is not a prison. Residents are treated fairly. It's a great way to get into a federal job atmosphere. Just know it's a lot of hours but a lot of pay as well. Residents get three meals a day. Smoke breaks store and comisarie. It is a male only facility.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients in inpatient rehab reside at the treatment facility while engaging in intensive daily treatment. Inpatient care is primarily designed for clients leaving detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Clients participate in intensive addiction counseling, which may include group and family therapy as well as one-on-one sessions. Recovery-focused life skills training is also often prioritized. Many inpatient rehabs offer evidence-based complementary therapies, such as yoga, meditation, art therapy, and animal therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
KPEP offers a Domiciliary Intensive Outpatient Program (DIOP) which was created to assist clients in achieving an alcohol and substance free lifestyle. The program provides a combination of a drug-free environment combined with outpatient treatment and daily cognitive behavioral programming.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients engaged in a rehab aftercare program have already completed high-level treatment and have begun to develop essential recovery skills. Rehab aftercare services are designed to support clients' sustained sobriety as they reintegrate into their home, workplace, and community. Case managers, care teams, and clients design the customized service portfolio that will best support the client's long-term sobriety. Clients may receive peer coaching, 12 step program induction, vocational training, and relapse prevention services.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
The primary goal of KPEP is to provide an alcohol and drug free living environment, that's why the main focus involves securing securing appropriate living arrangement as well as obtaining and maintaining employment. They offer men and women the opportunity to take responsibility in their lives.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Michigan provides personalized treatment to help individuals break this cycle and regain control of their lives. Treatment methods are used in various levels of care, including inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and standard outpatient treatment.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Family therapy is often recommended for family units with a member undergoing drug or alcohol rehabilitation. Family therapy helps to foster communication and conflict resolution that creates a supportive environment. This helps the loved one who is struggling with addiction.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

This place is more like a satellite jail. Definitely not a rehab, it is alternative incarceration. Place is set up for failure. Steer clear of this place if at all possible.

if i could leave a half star i would. i drove 40 minutes from hastings to battle creek for an immediate reading drug screen because i had court the following day, they were all notified that my results were needed for court and failed to send my results to my PO causing my probation to be extended. not only were they told by my probation officer over email , but it was the first thing i mentioned when i walked in and when i was finished testing. they even reassured me i had nothing to worry about and i was all set to go. i will never be going here again nor will i recommend anyone that needs help to go to this facility ever again. i agree with the other reviews...i cant understand how you guys still receive funding. like i said, if i could leave a half star i would.

This place discriminated, denied medical isssues, didn't feed me in 4 days, harass my employer, my Dr., And summit point put a block on the phone to KPEP. they're tired of the badgering. Alot of the respectable businesses in the BC area wrinkle their noses and refuse to sign the paperwork to prove that you actually had an appointment. Disgusting and embarassing. See you in court Andy.

I visit this place often. Some of the employee's are very rude not only to the visitors but I have to say they treat the people who have to be there like they have no feelings. They must remember what Go around Come around What goes Up must come Down. You never know but how you treat people will come back to you! No one know what tomorrow holds you might find yourself or a loved one in a place where you don't want them to be. How would you feel? Don't think it can't happen . You speed you break the law. You take a pen that is stealing. We have ALL done something in life just never got caught. Not all of them are in this place for the same reasons.Just made a bad decision but GOD FORGIVES US FOR OURS SINS!

KPEP in battle creek is a joke. We havent had classes in 3 days. Apparently addiction gets holidays off. Yet your release date hinges on finishing classes. The food is terrible, card games are prohibited, and we have one tube tv to share with 50 guys.It is a sad day when instead of being offered rehabilitative services we are served cold bologna sandwiches and nothing to drink with it. We also got written up if we didnt wear a tie to the bologna sandwich lunch. Please dont come here for rehab. You CANNOT order delivery, the store doesnt stay stocked, it is $1 to use a phone for 15 minutes, and there are three five minute smoke breaks each day. That means you get no more than 15 minutes outside a day.You are told rec time is at staff discretion. I have been here 40 days and we only have had rec time twice and eaxh time was less than an hour. This place is a disgrace and their funding should be pulled. I cannot believe that the state would give any funding to this facility. It is a drug addicts paradise. Its easier to do drugs here than on the outside.

This place is an absolute disgrace!!! It is memorial day weekend. They have not offered a rehab class in 3 days and today served 2 bologna sandwiches with 2 graham crackers and 6 pretzels for dinner. We have not had access to ang rehab treatment and so far have gotten 27 munutes of rec time, 2 cigarette breaks and got write ups for not wearing a tie to the bologna sandwich lunch. We weren't even given cups to dribk anything with dinner. 2 people decided to run and use because it is so bad here. Conditions are absolutely horrible. I pray the state of michigan comes and interviews the residents at the kpep in battle creek michigan. The staff ia covering up a lot of stuff. We havent been allowrd to even order other food and the store is out of half the food and we are being bullied and intimidated to keep quiet. Please write your experiences on here and help turn this place into a place that could actually make a difference for someone in need. This is more of a jail than a rehab. Please help by sharing your experiences. Enough critical feedback might make Adam and Tim realize they are running a disgusting facility and help them to realize it.
