All in all, my stay at Arista was a successful one. You're going to get out of the program what you want to get out of it. I went because I knew I needed help, so I was serious about it. "Other's NOT so serious about the program".I got to Arista on July 21, 2024. It took me about a week to get my schedule down, and then I felt a lot more comfortable going to classes and things. The only thing about Arista that I wished they would have done for me was to give me a tour of the facility after I arrived and where everything was located, but I had to figure all of that out by myself. So, when new people came in after me, I always tried to help them to find things because they also were not showed around. The rooms were very nice, but some people got to sleep-in Full-Size Beds, while others, like me, got single size beds. But I was very thankful to have a place to lay my head at night and the bed was very comfy. I was blessed to have an amazing roommate with my stay there at Arista as well, so it made it nice to have someone to talk to late at night when we couldn't sleep.Equine was really fun. Girls got to go every Tuesday to meet new horses, and they taught us great lessons about our recovery while working with the horses. So that was really fun. Boys went every Wednesday.The gym wasn't really fun, but I still tried to be down there in the room every morning because we are required to be there BUT you were not required to work out, just be present so that was cool.We had movie nights, but I didn't go to many of them because I like to read a lot instead.I left Arista on August 22, 2024, with my coin and Certificate!I got to leave my handprint on the wall, a very cool thing they do for the residents who complete the program successfully!Here are the workers I'd like to thank for being so kind and helpful to me at my stay at Arista in Paola, Ks.BHT- Jessica- Thank you for being kind to everyone. You truly have a heart of GOLD!BHT-Lillian- Thank you for letting me talk to you about my spirituality and always rooting for me with kindness and always making sure to write my progress down when you worked at night!BHT- Melissa (Caucasian lady)- Thank you for always being kind to me when I was having a rough day. I appreciate your smiles too.BHT- Rachael- Thank you for being always such a hard worker. You were always running around working so hard, and you helped me many times and I can't thank you enough!BHT- Brandon- Thank you for being possibly the nicest worker I've ever met. Every time I seen you, you were being so kind and respectful to ALL there!BHT-CNA- Leah- Thank you for being there for me on one of my hardest days at Arista when I was having horrible nightmares. You made my tears turn to a smile! You're appreciated!BHT-CNA- Alex- Thank you for being so kind every time you took my morning vitals. Also, every time I got meds from you, you always greeted me with a smile.Case Worker- Megan- Thank you for the amazing Art classes. It was literally my favorite part of the week. You were always RIGHT-ON-IT with my paperwork and checkups.Dr/Clinical- Rebecca- Thank you Rebecca for getting all of my meds in-line for all of my mental health.
