Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.

inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support a client's sustained sobriety as they exit detox or step down from an inpatient program. IOPs are also designed for clients who are at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in a minimum of nine hours of therapy per week, but clients may receive up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP treatment modalities often combine psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

During the first phase of recovery – detox – it is crucial to have 24-hour clinical care in California. This care provides constant monitoring in order to ensure your safely and comfort as you progress through the withdrawal process for drug or alcohol addiction. Licensed professionals prescribe medications to treat withdrawal symptoms and provide frequent monitoring to ensure your safely as addictive toxins leave your system.

Everything happened as scheduled. Doc provided options. Doc supported a proactive option. Doc took action with my approval. Doc stuck around to discuss what we can do and what I can do to keep improving my condition.

In my opinion Dr Cynthia Savage is the best doctor I have ever encountered at the Kaiser organization (or any doctor's office) and I've been around a long, long time. She is knowledgeable, she listens to you when you are talking to her (instead of staring at the computer which so many health providers do) . I understand the need to check stuff on the computer but she makes me feel much more confident that I'm being heard; first off, or early on, she looks at you to hear what you have to say. I have belonged to Kaiser for many, many years and Dr. Cynthia Savage is by far and away the doctor in whom I have total confidence. When my son was born at Kaiser 50 some years ago the delivering doctor was chatting about his new red sports car he had just bought, with the nurses in the room. Nobody asked me how I was doing....too busy discussing cars. Another Kaiser experience 20 years ago....family medicine doctor NOT Dr Savage, left the door to the examining room open and was talking with a nurse outside about a party they had both attended that weekend. Maybe it has nothing to do with the competency of the doctor but it sure leaves a lasting unpleasant impression on the patient. The quality of Dr Savage's care and attention is absolutely WONDERFUL. I'm so grateful to have found her.

I called to make an appointment to see the doctor on July 16th. The appointment time is this afternoon, September 6th at 2:50 pm. Come to the hospital early this afternoon to prepare for check-in. I was told that my GP was out today! The staff asked me to make a new appointment! I waited two months. I was told that I had to make another appointment!

Nurse Fang, Nicole, and Stephany are the best nurses I have ever encountered. They took exceptional care of my son and provided me with warmth and support throughout my labor. I truly appreciate their kindness and dedication. They are the angels of this hospital, and their excellent care has left me with lasting, loving memories. The rest of the staff were also wonderful and kind, making our experience at this hospital extraordinary.

I ll admit I m not a fan of Kaiser and the way the administration operates. Kaiser itself does not feel like a medical facility but rather a business transaction with all of the reminders to get my Covid-19 shot! My kids and I told you we are not participating in that experiment. That being said, I haven t left Kaiser yet because of Doctors like my children s pediatrician, Dr. Lande. She is always patient, caring and really thinks outside the box when all other possibilities fail. Best pediatrician!Shout out to Dr. Wong as well. If it weren t for these doctors, I would have given Kaiser 1 star.

Don't go to walnut creek. Fremont or santa clara are way better. Everytime I visit the walnut creek location I leave asking why did I even go there.
