i would like to start by giving Jill Julian DMH worker huge recognition amazing worker truly. i was here january 2023- june. i d love to give this place 0 stars but google makes you at least do 1. this place was absolutely disgusting i was here for 6months last year. the shower drains flood and had a terrible sewer smell. there s only two showers in the hall with your rooms along with two bathrooms with 2 stalls in each.there s two other showers and two more bathrooms in the other hall but they don t use them cause welp idk bro just lazy ppl. anyways when you shower they don t give you shower shoes so u gotta bring your own. they don t let you shut the door instead you get a five below little changing shade. i can see over it barely on my tippy toes. every time it was scheduled shower time they would put the tallest male staff on checks who s 6 7. checks walks right by both showers. if you don t crouch down checks he sees everything. nothing against the staff just terrible scheduling. the showers are never hot. filled with hair everywhere so gross. the floor floods so much. you only have 15 minutes to get unchanged, shower and get dressed. overall showers 0/10. moving onto the toilets (had one overflow on me and water was everywhere. mind you i was legit just changing.) when you want to go to the bathroom you have to wait for checks which should come by every 15 mins but usually it s 30min-1hr depending on if they re on there 8th smoke break. there s 2 stalls and two sinks. the stall doors are not a flat line at the top it s diagonal. i m 5 6 and my head was over the door . they also don t latch shut so people can walk in on you. it s happened so many times trust me. the bathrooms STINK smells like roadkill. there s mad sewer problems. it seeps up through all the drains. bathrooms 0/10. next is staff. staff are just straight up rude. yeah i get you re a staff but that doesn t make you better than the residents were still people bro. (i liked a few.) cassie was straight up disrespectful and acted so entitled she was just a counselor. she did help a few of my friends. my experience with her wasn t good. she chose favorites and i wasn t one ig. kinda how most the staff are fr. staff would yell at kids every second. and put kids on reset for the dumbest things. i was never on reset but you cannot do anything. its worse than inpatient. you can t leave your room, you can t go to group, you can t eat with everyone, can t go outside, can t socialize , i think you can t go to school depending on certain things, your room is completely stripped no sheets no desk nothing. a paper thin blanket and pillow is what u get. so basically nothing at all. you could also get grounded. you get grounded for 24hrs if you don t go to school no matter the reason. you get grounded for not going to groups. and you can get grounded for whatever reason by any staff AND for whatever period of time they choose. when your grounded you can t leave your room, you can t go to group, you loose your dvd player, all your lockers (chargers stuff like that) which i think is messed up cause i use music as my biggest coping skill so once your mp3 dies its bad, you can only go to meals and snack no free time, and you have a early bedtime of 8pm even on the weekends when lights out is 10pm. most depressing time was being grounded. moving onto food! when i first got there there was a chef his food we eh not the best but not hospital food. i didn t like it tho. then he quit or got fired idk. so there was no cook. somtimes the staff would make something or we would just have snack for dinner or lunch. then andrew started working in the kitchen and oh my. somebody put gordon ramsay in his face and make a idiot sandwich cause his food was foul. i don t think he s ever seen seasoning.salt and pepper do not count.it was inedible. he made sandwiches most the days. they sucked. the meat was reused. terrible .this program needs help. only thing that was good was the friends i made. dont take this to personal cohannet. but do pls fix your program:)

This place is a unhygienic inhumane place, the showers are filled with mold, and due to that you have to buy your own shoes and clean this bathrooms yourself. Some staff are horrible taking down the kids in the place to make themselves feel better, along with restraints that are unnecessary and restraints where people who are unqualified are participating. And instead of progressively helping they put kids on reset when they're having hallucinations or problems in general. Some staff are amazing and sweetheart but the place as a whole doesnt help as much as they hurt.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I want to highlight our outdoor activities. We had the normal ones to the library and the mall, but we also had special ones too! We even went to a concert. So thankful for this program and staff, they basically saved my life.

I went here 2015 or 2016 I think... honestly.. i m thankful for this program. Changed my life completely.. I loved most of the staff, some staff were not the nicest, but overall it was awesome. It is what you make it. You are most likely going to hate it because all us girls want to go home. But take advantage of everything at this program.. It will change your life for the better.

When you have a professional discussion with another supervisor over a resident acting out but you somehow loose your job over it.
