I entered St. Gregory Recovery Center at one of the lowest points in my life. Daily stress at work, in my personal life and other factors led to a significant increase in my use of alcohol. Alcohol has played a role in my life for the past 20 plus years. Its where I turned for stress management and as an excuse for a way to cope when life threw me a curveball or even as a way to celebrate when life treated me well. In 2024 I lost three close family members... and to no surprise, I turned to what I know as a way to hide from reality. I deprived my significant other, my children and my family from the support they needed through these rough times. As my alcohol consumption increased I knew it was not the life I wanted and decided to take steps to break the cycle. I made contact with a local provider who recommended a place called St Gregory Recovery Center in Bayard, IA. Hands down, the single best decision I've ever made! The clients and staff were amazing. Very supportive and knowledgeable. I was met with grace, respect and accountability. If you are considering seeking help for an addiction... I highly recommend St. Gregory. 5 stars plus!

Really really loved this place! Was here twice a few years back for suicide and self harm attempts. The staff were so nice, the beds were honestly comfortable. The food was honestly so good! Staff let us have extra snack in the evening if we are 75% or more of our meals. Of course, I always ate 100%. I absolutely loved room time, rec time, tv time, snack time, etc. Wish I had a roommate but other then that it was great! We stayed in the unit all day but it was still so much fun, we made the best of it.

I really like this clinic. I haven't had any of the issues I've seen posted. The staff are all very kind and very professional. I'm not sure if this is a factor in the very different experiences people are having, but they were purchased by a different company at some point before I started in December 2023. So maybe they have different people and policies now? I just know that I've had a great experience, and after coming from CADS in Rock Island, I needed that. Our dose is up to us because no matter the length of time it's been, some people aren't ready to be done with Methadone. For some people, it's a decision between Methadone or heroin. And that's a clear choice for me. But, ya, great experience.
