About Independence Club

Located in Springfield, Virginia, the Independence Club is a drug and alcohol treatment program for adults with substance use disorders. They also provide valuable community resources, such as referrals, outreach, a support line, and volunteer opportunities.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a program of recovery that helps adults overcome alcohol use disorder and substance use disorders. Their 12-step program involves regular recovery meetings during which members share their experiences, seek support for challenges, and help those struggling. The program involves working with a sponsor, who is another person in recovery who has already been through the steps. Members also volunteer their time to run meetings. Anyone can attend, the only requirement is a desire to stop drinking. Meetings are available throughout the day, seven days a week.

There are other 12-step programs, like Narcotics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, Heroin Anonymous, and Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous. All programs work on the same basis: regular meeting attendance, the 12-step program, sponsorship, and service. Each is tailored to the specific substance or process addiction a person is dealing with.

Used to be my favorite Korean barbecue ever, even though they later on added a 90-min time limit, the service declines over time, they increased their price for multiple times and very soon became one of the most expensive K-bbq in the area - we kept going back. However recently they changed their menu again, making it way too complicated, skyrocketed price ($85 per person and have to include alcohol?!) and is essentially no longer all you can eat anymore. Very sad to lose my favorite restaurant. Looking at the menu just gets me more and more upset.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you enroll in drug rehab in Virginia, a treatment plan is designed by professional staff in order to help you overcome drug addiction and modify addictive behaviors. This may include evidence-based treatments, group and individual therapy, and relapse prevention.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

I ve been to Makchang Dodook several times now. Highly recommend the large intestine if you order option A. The side dishes are excellent as well, try their ramen and seafood sundubu. Our server today, Melody, does a fantastic job.

Food: The food was solid, meats and side dishes are good. The menu is kind of confusing on the AYCE options.Service: The service was pretty slow and unattentive. For anything we wanted we would have to flag the server down and sometimes it seemed like they were just avoiding eye contact with us. Also interesting how they don't clear plates and side plates as often as other places. When they didn't clear the empty bowls the table would get full with empty side plates and bowls. Would like to give the servers a benefit of a doubt, they probably just need more training. There is also a 90 minute time limit, after the second round they began the dodging and would avoid us. Then without a warning they will let us know that the order we put in was the last order and that our time was up. Interesting business model as we were still ordering drinks and the a la carte menu as well.

If I could give this place six stars, I would! From the moment we stepped through the doors, the warm aroma of sizzling meats and their pepper and salt combo whispered, You re about to have the meal of your life. And boy, was that promise fulfilled. The service? Impeccable. Our server was like a culinary ninja silent and swift, yet somehow always there exactly when we needed a refill on kimchi or a tip on the perfect grill timing for our food. The food? Chef s kiss. The beef was so tender it felt like it had signed a peace treaty with my taste buds. The spicy chicken had just the right kick, and the bulgogi? Let s just say they made me question every other Korean BBQ I ve ever eaten. Even the side dishes were star players if I could bottle up their pasta salad, I d start a black-market operation. What truly made the night unforgettable, though, was the sense of community around the table. Sharing the grill, laughing over who burned their tongue on the first piece (it was me), and fighting for the last fries brought us all closer. It wasn t just a meal; it was an experience that fed both the stomach and the soul. Also, a warning: You will smell like glorious BBQ for hours afterward. But honestly, that just makes you the envy of everyone within a 10-foot radius. To sum it up, this place isn t just a restaurant it s therapy, comedy, and a love letter to your taste buds all rolled into one. Go. Thank me later. (But seriously, don t touch the bulgogi before it s ready. Trust me, it s worth the wait.)
