This is an absolutely outstanding treatment program. All of the employees, therapists, doctors, nurses, and affiliates are top-notch. I struggled with alcohol abuse for 10 years after encountering some traumatic events in my life. I went to Hazelden and Michael's House for treatment, and these were two of the highest rated programs in the country. They did absolutely nothing for me. If it weren't for New Day, I don't know where I would be today. I wish I had known the solution to my problems was right in my backyard! Kudos to Diane and Josh for being the best therapists anyone could have and to Andrea for always being on the ball with any paperwork needed. I am filled with gratitude and bowled over by the quality of this program. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who is struggling. Take a chance because it is worth it, 100!

OPTIONS was in many ways a life saver for me; I had reached the point of severe depression and needed help, and lots of it...OPTIONS gave me the help, medical care, and professional advice. The two therapists and the two nurses on staff were kind, accepting, non-judgemental, and gentle in helping me rebuild myself from the ruins. Through Group Therapy sessions, they helped me understand that I was not alone, and that my depression was a normal reaction to the enormous stress I was under. Through the self-development classes, usually scheduled in the afternoon, I learned how to take care of myself better, how to become more assertive, how to build healthy relationships and look for balance. OPTIONS is a well-designed, well-run program for adults and I hope they continue strong for the many years to come. From the front staff (esp Ms Shuranda who keeps everything running smoothly), to the wonderful counselors, the medical directors (shout out to Ms Cynthia) and the nurses aka angels in scrubs (Kat, Gizelle and Mel).. you are surrounded by nothing but complete love, support and understanding. When I got my DUI I was given a list of DUI counseling and services in the area. Some people were nice some people were very ugly. Some services give you partial services and you have to look somewhere else to complete all of your requirements which is frustrating. Lighthouse is a One-Stop place to go. These people are genuine, good-hearted and care about what they do. They made me feel comfortable from the beginning. Keep in mind they are doing their job so do not get angry with them it is the state of Illinois that is the biggest problem. You can jump through all the hoops and do all of your requirements and the state of Illinois will still make it hard for you to get your license back. But the people at lighthouse will be very honest and tell you this. And they will give you the information to help you navigate your difficult situation. Do yourself a favor and call lighthouse first. Thank you all.
