Emergency Room experience is terrible. It is most embarrassing, uncomfortable and leaving people with no dignity whatsoever. They receive a -0 if possibleDirty bed. Dirty floor. Triage reception desk is terrible. Acknowledgement of patient arrival is horrible. The telemetry / neurology 3S was a 5! The entire staff was amazing and deserve full recognition.Radiology was a 5+! Professional l, timeliness, patience, communication, accuracy, just all around beyond expectations 5 out of 5!As to the staffing, the PCT are so short staffed. The techs that are on the units, are so amazing, but so over worked and under staffed, which ultimately affect the patients care and Nurse support.Ascension Care has done an extremely poor job in cut backs! There is no salary reduction of higher paid positions of Administration and Board Members but the needed staff that care for the patients and save the lives of the patients day in and day out are grossly under staffed and most likely underpaid. The hospital is not as clean as it used to be before Ascension took over. Accessibility of Doctors, scheduling at office level, overall handling of patient care has dropped and plummeted to a 1 out of 5 overall. 6 months to see Specialists is unacceptable! The staff does not smile as much, they always look stressed but the good ones, they still try to take care of the patients the best as they can. But dirty sheets, lack of blankets and dirty bathrooms, blood on ceilings, and overcrowded hospital facility and un-urgent Emergency Room is something else! Deplorable! Why in the world would a person be brought in on a stretcher by an ambulance be put in waiting room and not an actual room and placed from a stretcher to a wheelchair, and not even seen yet with clothes half on with chest pain, having major issues...and have to be admitted and have surgery next day. While ER reception desk is sitting around, feet up, crocks on desk, talking about weekend plans, I mean, are you serious? What has St. ALEXIUS ER become? Paramedic was so nervous what they made them do, he dropped my bag on floor, and my stuff dumped all over floor and all he could do was look at me and say "I'm so very sorry ma'am," look down, shake his head and leave.Ascension you should be ashamed of yourself. Conditions of a hospital like Cook County versus in Hoffman Estates where Median Income Range is $120k+.I would rather be taken all the way to Central DuPage then ever go through your Emergency Room. If it wasn't for my husband calling my doctor and my doctor call hospital I dont know what would have happened to me.Only reason I scored the hospital a 4 is because of the staff on 3S, Radiology Surgeon and Radiology Staff. The care in the ER is of grave concern to me. So much so, that i was is the same ER a week earlier and had the PA done the proper review of my medical history, she would have seen it needed an MRI and needed a surgery and could have saved me injury to my leg and further damage to my heart. So neglect of PA, of ER Triag ER staff and lack of urgency and review caused delay in care and for me to return a week later. Thanks for lack in quality care and major medical mal-practice!Where is JCAHO when you need em?

Honestly almost didn't come here because the reviews scared me but it's not bad. I feel like all the bad reviews are involuntary admits but I was voluntary so maybe my experience is just different. All of the counselors and the doctors were nice to me, occasionally nurses would mess up other peoples meds or be a little irritated but it didn't really affect me personally. Everything was clean and they gave a bunch of food. Overall it was good and the people were nice so it was definitely a help. I wouldn't let the bad reviews scare you from not going.

The valuable lessons provided truly shift your perspective on life, regardless of your starting point. Greg Ammon, Vincent Donlon, and the instructors who delivered the lessons were once part of my support network. I cherished their guidance and gained significant knowledge from them. Reflecting on how long it has been since my diagnosis feels surreal. The journey to recovery was facilitated by the insights and assistance I received. Embracing the process involves being receptive to learning and adjusting one's mindset and actions. Thank you for all you do for our community, we appreciate your work and dedication. :)

Like someone else said, the staff is pretty awful, except for the counselors and the receptionist it s completely true. They told me they were gonna lock my vapes up so I could have them when I discharged and they just threw them out. The nurses are good too but the program and schedule are not great. They don t let you even read books that aren t AA or self help books. There s barely any tv time but the girls don t listen to Anna because it s ridiculous that you can t even watch tv throughout the day. But mostly they kinda just push you out the door instead of helping you set up for life on the outside. Your counselor will help you to the best of their ability but they have their hands tied and not nearly enough resources. I hope it gets better because some of the rules are absurd and outdated. The counselors are great and the food is good good luck!
