About Huther Doyle

Huther Doyle is a treatment center in Rochester, New York, that provides addiction recovery and physical health services. The facility gives clients rapid access to an evaluation, a wellness program, and individualized research based recovery. The main services they offer are outpatient treatment and medication assisted treatment (MAT). A health home care manager is also available to help clients access employment, housing and other care services. One other program they have that stands out is their SHAPE program. It helps individuals who have been incarcerated get addiction recovery treatment and also get assistance with any goals they have related to court or probation.

Most individuals will be able to get an evaluation the same day they arrive at the facility. The staff members will decide on what treatment is appropriate after hearing what the client’s needs are. Clients who need medication assisted treatment will have the choice of various medications to be treated with, including Suboxone, Vivitrol, caltrexone and Campral. These medications have all been proven to help with reducing withdrawal symptoms. If desired, medications for smoking cessation are also available for clients to use.

One thing I like about Huther Doyle’s outpatient services is they’ve come up with specific programs for different members of their community. They have addiction treatment programs designed for women, individuals with co-occurring disorders and those who are HIV positive. All clients can expect to receive individual and group counseling during their participation in the outpatient program. Counselors will usually utilize evidence based therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. Bereavement groups are also available at the facility for individuals who’ve lost someone they love to substance abuse.

Huther Doyle has been a great help for me in the past few months. I highly suggest Marcus Allen as a counselor. Both his groups and one-on-one meetings have been great. He has been positive influence on my life in all aspects. Front desk staff is also very kind and helpful.

I was assigned Arlene as a therapist March of 2022. Arlene and I have one on ones monthly. She always puts me first, helps with solve thru my problems I m dealing with in early sobriety. Also provides me with resources and self help books to help me work on myself outside of therapy. Also Laura is my peer advocate, she is always a phone call away, meets me at AA meetings and is a great friend along being a great support for me. Laura goes ABOVE and BEYOND her expectations. She truly cares for her clients & their journey with early sobriety. During active use, she made sure I made it to detox and I was in a safe place. She is a great example of what a sober woman is. Set a great example for new patientsI truly wouldn t be where I am at if it wasn t for Laura & Arlene When I get my vivatrol injection, Mayra the PA, always takes time out of her day to say hello to me.5 stars for Huther Doyle

If you are interested in recovery, please seek another facility. This place has been nothing but disappointing. No continuity of care, consistently having to chase down nurses and doctors. When they do schedule an appointment to speak to a doctor, it's HOURS after said time by the time he calls. I personally have had to go without MAT for weeks because of their lack of care. I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy!

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients in rehab aftercare programs receive a customized portfolio of services designed to promote their sustained sobriety. These clients have completed high-level treatment, are typically exiting detox and/or intensive inpatient care and are reintegrating into their home, workplace, and community. Rehab aftercare services address addiction disease as a chronic condition requiring continuing care. Clients typically work with case managers and recovery teams to access necessary resources, such as peer coaching and 12 step program induction support.
12-step icon12-Step
Participants in 12 step programs maintain access to community-based peer support, which is the programs' primary treatment modality. 12 step recovery combines personal growth with paper coaching. Participants regularly attend group meetings, which are free, anonymous, open to the public, and available multiple times per day in most communities. They are also mentored by self-selected sponsors who guide them through the steps of recovery. Age and gender specific and other specialized formats are common.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in New York occurs when family members and friends lovingly confront someone with a substance use disorder. The goal of this confrontation is to motivate the person to seek treatment. Loved ones point out how the person's destructive behavior is affecting them in hopes that they will agree to get help. Most inpatient rehab facilities offer intervention services that can help families walk through this process step by step.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you choose drug rehab in New York, you'll participate in a variety of treatments that are designed to help you live a drug-free lifestyle. Common methods of treatment include group, individual, and family counseling, medication management, nutrition, exercise, and management of co-occurring mental health disorders.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Introduced in 1983, motivational interviewing is a method to help clients commit to change. It's based on the philosophy that change is hard, and clients must explore their own options and come to their own conclusions rather than receive warnings or advice from the therapist.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Nicotine is an addictive substance found in cigarettes. When you stop smoking, your body experiences withdrawal from this substance. Nicotine replacement therapy lets you slowly reduce your nicotine intake so you experience minimal withdrawal symptoms. Eventually you'll be down to zero.

Due to Covid-19 my job here was cut short which hurt me because I loved this place and my Huther Doyle Family. I was the Security Guard at Huther Doyle for 3 almost 4 Years!. This was the best job ever. The staff is family oriented, they treat everyone with respect and have a heart for people . From my experience being there and seeing the countless number of lives this facility has changed was astonishing.

Rudest staff, extremely disorganized. Waits a year to send a bill and when you call them everyday for a week and leave messages to get your bill resolved and not one of your phone calls is returned. I sent in a letter with each day and time that i ve called and they apparently had no record of my calls (good thing I have proof on my phone). Lady who called me back honestly shouldn t even have a job there. Absolutely rude for zero reason.Would not recommend to anyone until they get some better staff in there
