About The Horsham Clinic Delaware County

Partial hospitalization program (PHP) programs can be best thought of as a combination of outpatient and inpatient services. Clients spend most of the day in treatment at the facility but return home at night. Given this structure, it’s best for clients with severe symptoms who don’t require 24 hour supervision. Services offered include therapy (individual, group, and family), groups (for anger management, conflict resolution, and coping and life skills training), and medication management. They also offer experiential therapy, such as art and music therapy.

The Horsham Clinic works with any private insurance plans (though unlisted, these may include TRICARE, Beacon, Aetna, Anthem, and Magellan). Clients are urged to confirm coverage, as out of network benefits may vary.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs specialize in providing comprehensive care for clients who choose to remain in their homes and communities during treatment. Their services may include transitional support for clients stepping down from intensive inpatient programming. Ambulatory medical detox may be provided for clients at low risk for withdrawal complications. Many programs include evening, night, and weekend services to accommodate clients who are working professionals or caregivers. Addiction counseling and life skills training are common treatment modalities.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab provides clients with an opportunity to focus solely on their sobriety away from the stressors of the home and workplace. Clients receive housing, food, and intensive clinical supervision. They also typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions each week, including daily individual, group, and/or family sessions. Most programs also prioritize recovery-focused life skills training, including courses in relapse prevention. Many facilities offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as yoga and meditation.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services bring extensive experience to the planning and conducting of drug interventions in Pennsylvania. These experts can facilitate interventions in a sensitive manner that encourages positive outcomes. The goal of the intervention is to educate the individual about addiction and the consequences of their substance use and encourage them to get the treatment they need. Interventions can be effective with all types of drugs and alcohol addiction.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), you can participate in intensive rehabilitation treatment with the ability to return home at the end of the day. For a weekly minimum of 20 hours, a partial hospitalization program can take place up to 5 days a week for an average of 90 days. During PHP treatment, you can receive relapse prevention strategies, medication management, individual and group therapy, and other behavioral therapy interventions.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Life skills are the mental and social skills that are necessary to navigate day to day life. Addiction diminishes or eliminates these skills, so they must be relearned and practiced during drug rehab treatment in Pennsylvania.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

The sole group therapist spent the whole week telling the kids about God and Christianity. He insisted that the purpose of life is to serve God. This is not advertised as a religious facility, and there's nothing therapeutic about proselytizing, especially when some of the kids are from other religious backgrounds (there was at least one Muslim kid in the group -- can't see what therapeutic good it does for an authority figure to suggest the kid is betraying the therapist's God). My 11 year old, who is atheist, was not particularly helped by this. Beyond this unprofessionalism, the program is very disorganized -- social worker was entirely unclear about the discharge plan and did not know kid's age. Bus often shows up an hour late for transport. Lot of sitting around doing nothing. absolutely ZERO individual therapy, so really all you're getting is the religious indoctrination stuff. My kid, who had made two suicide attempts, was discharged with no checks about whether she was actively suicidal or practicing self-harm. It's pretty terrifying. More trivially, the food is really awful (just sugar, fat, fries, meat, served with sugary drinks) and they never go outside (it's in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere). If I weren't feeling bad before I got there, this would be enough to make anybody feel pretty awful in their mental health. Very depressing that kids are being "treated" like this.

literally first day some girl assaulted someone else and the staff were laughing? the place is literally just a day care to drop off your mentally ill kids like the place is disgusting. they have a "quiet room" which is i kid you not a pad in a closet that locks from the OUTSIDE so they can trap you in there if they think you're dangerous. absolutely not an accepting of trans kids got deadnamed the whole time had people there mocking me because of it and the staff do jack to intervene. i ended up having to go to inpatient from there because i was worse then when i went in. no discharge plan in place awful psychiatrist who just sits there and PLAYS ON HIS PHONE like get your act together for fuks sake.

My experience was like being in a building of kids from school you know you'll never see again because they'll end up in jail or become hermits. Atleast a third of the kids anyways. I made some friends on my 10 day stay which i cant get in contact with because well, i was sent away to a school out in utah for a year after i was evaluated hear and either the kids switched numbers moved as recommended by the facility or something else. Staff didnt know why i was their because i wasnt violant or rude, i actually tried to make friends and help staff get on with their schedule but that almost provoked my first roomate to fight me. Btw he was the same kid who stole my underware and then asked if i wanted them back as he showed me he was wearing them. Needless to say i switched rooms within the first 2 days and had no problems with my other two roommate's for the rest of my stay. Anyways i say all that the kids hear arent all bad and actually i didnt think half of these kids needed to be hear. It was obvious that a third of these kids were not taught how to act properly and that was a fault of their parents. This is not a place to send kids who need better parenting. One third had real issues and their cases were too complicated to get into but they also had issues with the parents and they developed bad behaviers due to the lack of authority and love in their homes. The last one third were just confused, bullied/sensitive children who cant find a place in this world of violance and substance abuse. My roomate and another nice kid i met in their are good people but they had to devolpe some attitude that they dont want because its not normal to not be like the rest of the kids in school. They were quite and didnt have too many friends because they had morels and cared about others, they werent loners by choice but out of necessity. They didn't sacrifice the quality of their beliefs and friends to fit in. For that i respected them and they respected me, so we became friends. Wish i could get in contact with some of yall but its been 9 years since than and i know you wouldnt really think to even write a review because fighting establishments like this is what got us put hear. Hope your doing well alexia and warren. Cool guy with the spanish name and Dark hair, hope you remember trying to sniff the cold hair through the cafeteria doors. And to katie the girl i gave a pen tattoo to on the play ground i thought you were adorable and tried calling but i was sent away for that year and when i called no one buy your name was on the line. Thanks mr. D for helping me and 2 of the on duty staff were cool too. The huge spanish guy who works out and the staff i tried to help by telling the other kids to stop talking over him. I understand it was your responsibility to get the kids to quite down but they were being to disrespectful and i apologize for almost starting a fight. You saw it coming befor i did.
