Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and dysfunctional eating patterns. Many psychologists and other mental health professionals consider eating disorders to be food addictions, meaning food is being used in an addictive way (similar to drug or alcohol addiction). Certain substance abuse treatment programs will have treatment for eating disorders as one of the services offered. An eating disorder may also present as a co-occuring disorder or dual diagnosis alongside drug and alcohol addiction.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

This has to the worst hospital known to man nothing but a glorified med express in my opinion! My mother passed away 8-28-23 from Covid related heart complications she was transferred from her home by ambulance and didn t want to go to Logan. I got the call that she was taken to the emergency room. I called and they told me I wasn t allowed in due to her having Covid okay what ever. But they told me that they was running test on her and that her troponin level was over 60 thousand and that they aren t equipped to deal with cases like this. I got a call a couple hours later from the nurse saying there had been some big changes that they lost my mom but got her back and they were transporting her to Lancaster as we speak by the time I met my family up there she was gone!! So they wait until she codes to transport her when they could have put her in a life flight and she would have been to Lancaster in 5 minutes or Camden Clark in 15minutes. I will always feel in my heart if she wouldn t have laid in that emergency room for hours and had been transported to Lancaster, Camden Clark medical center some place that had world renowned cardiologist they could have did a heart catheter and fixed what was going on and that her death will always be to blame on this hospital!!

My mother had a terrible seizure, and once they finally let me back, no one felt the need to tell me what was going on. They had me right beside their office in the emergency room. The staff was more focused on talking about their trip to Hawaii and body shots than explaining what was happening to my mother. What an unprofessional staff. I guess they let anyone in the medical profession these days...

I want to take the time to say thank you to Latricia for her dedication and reassurance. I appreciate your outstanding service and accommodation to the last minute changes.I'm writing this review from Phoenix, AZ. My best friend ended up at Hocking Valley Community Hospial where they took great care of her. Due to me being in a different state and I was unable to come visit. I decided to go onto their website and purchase flowers from the gift shop and I selected to have them delivered the next day. We'll, that very next day I got a notice that my friend was being transferred to differnt hospital for surgery and I was worried she wouldn't get her flowers. Latricia was quick to email me back, reassuring me that even though my best friend had been transferred, they'll make sure she still gets her flowers. Come to find out, Latricia hand delivered the flowers herself. She went above and beyond and I truly appreciate her dedication to the patients at Hocking Valley Community Hospital. Thank you again for the outstanding care.

I wish I could give different stars for different departments. So I'm choosing a 3. Out patient surgery gets a 5, they are pretty nice and caring in there, . Radiology gets a 4.5 they are pretty busy most of the time for different things. The ER needs a lit of work. I have had good and bad care in there, honestly I think there are some wonderful nursing staff in there but you can also tell the burnout rate because of the opioid crisis is high. There have been a few instances of a nurse being pulled in from some place else due to being busy I had to deal with on several occasions who was extremely rude. I noticed she is still there sometimes.

I had Dr.Swain and we was doing great until they called my wife's phone instead of mine...then dropped me for not calling...which I did call back for 3 days then finally they called back just to say I've been dropped and then a week later saying that they are no longer practicing in that location, to see someone else at that location but they wouldn't take me cause of them dropping me....plus I just found out that he is still in the same location so I don't understand why they dropped and lied to me about it!!!!!
