This place is terrible and should be shut down. Verbally abusive staff, uncaring nurses, rude doctors. The food sucks and there are zero accommodations for patients with dietary restrictions. I have type 2 diabetes and the staff here couldn't have cared less when I informed them of my dietary needs. Rooms are always deathly cold and only one tv works. Stay away from this place at all costs and do not send your loved ones here under any circumstances whatsoever.

I m going through another serious mental breakdown and I need a facility that I feel safe that I can go to for help during these times. Unfortunately this is not my first breakdown I had one in November of 23 and I got involuntarily admitted to this place. The supposed 3 turned 4 days was one of the worst experiences of my life and it did not help or bring comfort to my mental incapabilities at all. It furthered my trauma, it furthered my mental depression and instability. It s gotten me so scared to reach out to receive the help I really need. They put me on the drug and rehab floor although I m NOT AN ADDICT. They informed me the depression and suicidal floor was full. So NONE of the therapy sessions on that unit were pertaining to me and my issues. I was surrounded by addicts who were detoxing and I was treated like a junkie by the staff. I stayed in my room the whole 4 days and only spoke to Britney to counselor she s the only one in there who cares. Now that I need somewhere to go it s so depressing to try and research and all that pops up is this place. Shame on the medical team and I m a nurse myself, they need to be shut down for how they treat their patients.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs offer robust wraparound care for clients who are stepping down from intensive inpatient care, with many facilities providing multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Clients may also elect to enroll in outpatient care immediately after completing inpatient detox. Those who are at lower risk of withdrawal complications may also choose to receive ambulatory medical detox from an outpatient facility. Outpatient programs typically involve addiction counseling, recovery education, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as art and music therapy, are commonly available.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are designed for clients who need frequent, high-level care but do not require, or choose to forgo, inpatient treatment. Most intensive outpatient rehabs offer a minimum of nine hours of treatment weekly, though clients may receive up to 20 hours of care as needed. These programs typically combine various treatment modalities, including individual, group, and family counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction and recovery education, and evidence-based complementary therapies, such as acupuncture and massage.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Designed for individuals with moderate to severe addictions, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides a more intensive form of outpatient therapy. PHP treatment can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option after being discharged from a hospital or residential program. A partial hospitalization program typically requires a minimum of 20 hours weekly for an average of 90 days. Depending on your care plan, PHPs can include relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Medical detox involves clearing your body of drugs and/or alcohol under the 24/7 care of licensed medical professionals. If you've become dependent on alcohol or drugs (like benzodiazepines or opioids), quitting abruptly can have uncomfortable and even dangerous side effects. The purpose of medically assisted detox is to keep you as safe and comfortable as possible during this process. Medications like Suboxone or Vivitrol may be provided if necessary to mitigate any withdrawal symptoms.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

How is it helpful to anyone s mental health when a place lies to you? Had a friend admitted and was told there are specific visitation hours with different areas. My friend wasn t placed yet so I called back the next day and was told I can only leave a message? I understand if supervised visitations are needed but to cut off physical support like this is horrendous. To also lie about being allowed to visit is straight face lying.I may change this review later, depending on the actual care they give her but right now I am livid and hurt myself. You can not claim to be helping when the person who needs help is so removed from any actual support system they have. The very option to have a physical visit puts so much at ease, with the family and with the patient. This is not a healthy approach.

This place saved my life 2 years ago. I was inpatient for about 5 days. I took myself there at 4am one morning and had never been hospitalized before so I didn't know what to expect. All the staff were nice and respectful. They got me on some medications and set up some outpatient therapy/doc appts for me. It obviously wasn't the most pleasant experience because you don't have the freedom that you have outside of the facility but they do what they have to do to KEEP YOU SAFE and I'm in a much better place because of it. I haven't had to go back but I know that I can if I ever need help again. Also, I see that there are a lot of negative reviews. I work in the medical field and see this a lot. People know they don't feel well/are sick but don't understand the process of getting better isn't always pretty. It's a hospital, not a hotel. They provide food, activities, time outside, group therapy, television, a place to wash clothes, phone calls. However, its not fancy. I was able to eat regularly, have a hot shower, and sleep well (they will provide ear plugs). The BIGGEST thing is that they keep you safe. Mental health issues show up in a LOT of different ways, so don't assume that someone is not being properly cared for because staff don't react the way that you do.

Inpatient and outpatient have been very different experiences for me.Inpatient: Cons:It takes a while to get your belongings. If you have medical issues, it's a bit tough as you pretty much have to supply your own meds for non-psychiatric things, and then it takes a while to be approved by the pharmacy and have the orders placed. Some staff act like they're the wardens and patients are inmates, but not the majority.Understaffed.Nothing is quick here - especially med passes.**Update, Sunrise med passes and vitals take forever, but Meadows was heads and tails above for both.If you write a 3-day letter and are made involuntary, you get restricted to the unit, which feels punitive. Not great if you have complicated medical issues.Pros:Therapy-heavy. I've only ever been to Cleveland Clinic facilities, where therapy is more play-based (art and music only). Some of the staff are amazing. You get to go outside (smoke if you do, or just chill if you don't) several times a day.The food isn't terrible, and you can substitute, plus there's snacks. The beds are fairly comfortable.Showers in the rooms. You can wear pretty much your normal clothes, just no strings or belts. You can have your toiletries and makeup (with certain safety restrictions).Lots of books in the library. There's a workout area.Outpatient: The pros and cons here seem like they vary based on which therapist you get. I was pink-slipped while with my 1st outpatient therapist in PHP, so I can't give an honest assessment of her group.Michelle and Brian are stellar therapists. Michelle is also the patient advocate, and lemme tell you, she works her butt off!The groups are structured in a way that invites the patients to almost run the group, with the therapist as the facilitator. The therapists serve as educators and present the lessons like a small, interactive classroom. There's a lot of great info, you get handouts and a binder if you're with Brian and a spiral-bound book with Michelle. Both of these incredible therapists will talk with you individually and privately if you have a bit more need for support or are having any potential safety issues.Lunch is provided, but you can also get your own. Transportation is also provided if you live within 25 miles of the facility - but you can also drive yourself.I honestly cannot say enough for the PHP. I will 100% stand on saying these groups, and the therapists who facilitate them, are life-savers.

They are the most unprofessional staff. If you call they have an attitude and hang up on you. They lie and say you are getting discharged and keep changing the dates. The therapist or nursing staff doesn't call you back. I Can't get a real answer about my son. Please do not send your loved ones here it is horrible!!!

Regardless of the negative reviews These people that work at this hospital, Helped me get stable back in 2021. I was going through A really bad mental episode where I was getting panic attacks 24 seven and I couldn t do anything for myself. Nurses took great care of me and all of the other staff I was even at the time scared to go outside and they convinced me to. They really do care and I really thank them from the cooks to the doctors and everything else in between. It s a very challenging job. And very much appreciated

Good they let you smoke moderately. Good they have regular soda like pepsi or coke. They know how to make good food when they want. One nurse practitioner I had was better than the psychiatrist I had, he was abusive. However I met no one who truly cared about me and SO many were horribly abusive. Pt advocate did not resolve these concerns.

2 stars for the IOP program. When I discharged from IOP my symptoms were still the same since the day I went in. Also poor med management.
