During dinner, everyone gets the chance to talk about the day’s events, talk about key lessons they’re working through, and sometimes even talk to alumni members about shared experiences.

This is for all the negative reviews Towards the Hendricks house. Those people saying "don't send anyone u care about to that facility. These people are only whining bc when they were there the staff probably didn't let them do whatever they wanted to do, those people had no idea that in order to change you MUST CHANGE!!!!!!!!And as far as them putting people out for whatever reason, I'm pretty sure none of them were children, and last time I checked adults are more than capable of finding their way home.Hendricks House gave me my life back....You will NEVER get out of u'r current situation with the same thinking that got u there....you are where you are right this very moment from every choice you have made. If you don't like where you are right now then there is only ONE thing to do..... MAKE BETTER CHOICES... Listen to the little voice in u'r head, he/she is NEVER WRONG

The administration director is very unprofessional and is completely out her league. Her husband runs around the facility like her owns it yet he is only a maintenance man. They force the clients to sign off rights so they can record all audio conversation. her and her husband then go home watch the clients on TV. Theyform personal opinions about the clients and then take in vantage of the information they have. The last thing the care about is recovery I will never recommend this halfway house to anyone. It should be closed down and sued for recording personal conversations.

As most facilities, the HHG provides services in residential facilities and have surveillance in common areas to ensure client health and safety. Clients are aware of their rights when they are admitted and throughout their stay in treatment.

I had the pleasure of spending six months at this facility in 2004. The treatment was tough but necessary, the house built a strong foundation that has last many years. I am beyond grateful for what the staff and house did for me.Being an alumni I sometimes get the opportunity to come back to share and encourage the clients who are currently going through the house, I hope that they realize what a gift that they have been given.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in New Jersey is the process of addressing the complex issues involved with addiction. Challenges are identified and addressed through individual and group counseling. Participants learn how to manage these issues without the use of substances.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

It's a shame how they put people out without a place to go.

Response from the owner4 months ago
It is upsetting when a client is discharged before their estimated completion date. Clients must adhere to organizational policies that are in place to ensure client health and safety. When situations arise that necessitate discharges, clients are encouraged to call their families and support groups first to see if that is an appropriate placement. If that is not possible, clients are referred to a shelter or other living situations. Our treatment team believes in recovery and takes administrative discharges very seriously and use them when client community health and safety is at risk.

Do not send love ones here they would discharge without investigating. The person was not court appointed and wanted help. He was discharge and it affected him mentally. He didn't know how to get home and they did not care. The police officer assisted him ..docsaf

My brother was not protected , He got into an altercation and was kicked out on the streets in an area he is not familiar with. They have no compassion and was very rude and dismissive when he tried to reason with him before putting him on streets. This is the Galloway halfway house!

Today my relative was kicked out of this home and we are disgusted . The last time we spoke to him was this morning and the issue was not his fault with an apology from the patient. We have been looking for him all day and can t find him. This place should not just kick people out but make sure that they family can place them some where safe . If anyone have any information on how we can follow up or talk to higher ups we would be happy with that moving forward.

At was at a point in my life at age 53,and still finding myself without any purpose nor the will to even try.But this all changed after deciding to take what could be my last chance at life,by walking into the Hendricks House of Vineland. Who greeted my with open arms and allowed me the opportunity to become the son, father, and now grandfather. This was 2 years ago and I am still Employed with the same company (CCIA) from which I 1st started thru the HH,so if no one has told u that all is possible, I am here to do just that,,,, take the leap of faith and trust the help staff will offer you..PS if I can we can!!!

Recently left this place and it is a disgrace. Do not send anyone there no matter what. They are rude, ignorant and treat the clients like garbage. They will lie to get you to come there. They feed you expired food and if you say anything about it they will treat you even worse. Two months I sat there with no work. They messed up my Dr visits and meds. Even sent me to Dr appointments to buildings that weren't even open anymore. They lie steal and bully their clients. The director there is a terrible human being who treats everyone there like street trash. The only caring people there are the counselors and they hate their jobs because of the way their clients are treated. There is no recovery there. This place should be shut down for FRAUD. 9/3/23 all the recent 5 star ratings I've noticed have been added is there own staff doing damage control. Funny I ended my review with the word fraud and here they are fraudulently inflating their rating.
