car-building iconOutpatient

Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.

bed-front iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

house iconSober Living Homes

Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

truck-medical icon24-Hour Clinical Care

This care provides constant monitoring in order to ensure your safely and comfort as you progress through the withdrawal process for drug or alcohol addiction. Licensed professionals prescribe medications to treat withdrawal symptoms and provide frequent monitoring to ensure your safely as addictive toxins leave your system.

clipboard-medical iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

This is for the Novato location. Truly a wonderful place run by compassionate people. Simone did a lot of work for me and I am extremely grateful. My stay was cut short purely due to an unfortunate situation where I was without my antidepressants and my mental health was really suffering. That being said they did a lot to try to resolve that problem for me, and the actual detox portion was quite comfortable. The Nursing staff was wonderful, I wish I could have expressed my gratitude to Katie who helped intake me, the night nurse Kiran(only sort of got that one wrong) who dealt with my frustration well and most of all, Najiri(which yes, I got very wrong the first time. One of those i didnt introduce myself in my detoxed daze and then it was too late :)) for seeing me through my worst and validating my feelings and especially Georgia who was my favorite if i could have a favorite in the brief time I was there and I would have gladly talked to more but she did great trying to help me find my meds. The food is great, Marissa made me perhaps the perfect scrambled eggs, Amber cleaned up after me more than she should have and the baking next level. I also want to say Colin I appreciated as well for informing me about embodied as aftercare. He was one of those former addicts who you wouldn't know was an addict, I've been told I fit that mold which resonated with me.i learned i need a little more structure to transition into which is not necessarily the focus of a detox only facility, however it's hard to really say how different my experience would have been if I hadn't been unable to refill my SSRI. That being said it's a beautiful place to start your journey and I encourage you to take it into consideration before transitioning to residential, PHP, IOP or whatever your poison... or rather antidote may be. Thank you again to everyone I did not name or have the pleasure to interact with much. I have nothing but love and appreciation for you all.

I feel bad, leaving a three star review because a lot of the people were very supportive and nice to me during my time dealing with them while my son tried to detox. The rating comes because they re the only facility I ve ever dealt with that doesn t return any of your money, if your child leaves. I paid out of pocket. Any parents dealing with a drug addicted child know that this is something that can happen and frequently does. I feel like I m being punished for my son s addiction.

I landed at Heartwood via Kaiser due to some very tough alcohol setbacks. I will be eternally grateful to the Heartwood Staff and pure human connection. Mike, Jesse and everyone on their team guided me back to health and recovery with sincere care. These guys understand all parts of detox from meds to food to a fantastic Aftercare Plan. The house is beyond great and I know this sober life ahead of me would not be available if it weren t for them. Forever grateful to Heartwood

I was scared at first to go to detox. The woman on the phone calmed me down. The first thing I noticed when I walked in the door is the healing vibes. The food is delicious. The staff is reassuring and welcoming. There s a pool, Cornhole, and goats! They have rectangle eyes. This is the best detox around. It s like a big house, with a really nice kitchen and living room. This is the safe place to be:)
