About Harlem East Life Outpatient Methadone Clinic

Harlem East Life Plan’s Outpatient Methadone Clinic provides specialized opioid addiction services in New York, New York. They welcome adults by offering multifaceted, culturally sensitive care. You can benefit from a blended approach of medication assisted treatment and behavioral counseling to reach your recovery goals.

With their program, you can live at home while attending counseling and dosing. They administer FDA approved methadone doses to help you overcome withdrawal symptoms and cravings that can hinder recovery. This service is offered in tandem with individual and group therapy at a nearby location.

One standout feature is their additional services. You can access family, housing, and employment assistance. They help you work on other essential aspects of life that can contribute to long term recovery. That way, you won’t have to turn to drugs to deal with life’s frustrations.

I also like that their services are available in English and Spanish. They take a culturally competent approach to treatment to ensure you feel heard and understood.

Many previous clients had good reviews. Clients mentioned feeling welcomed and supported by staff. Some also attributed being sober today to their services. While positive experiences can help you decide on a treatment center, always remember recovery is a unique experience for everyone. Be sure to research and consider multiple facilities to find the best option.

Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

car-building iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
