About Hansen House For Women

Hendricks House Group is an addiction recovery center for adults out in New Jersey. They offer outpatient programs and residential sober living programs across the state. Their Galloway Campus is in Egg Harbor City, which is a halfway house for men.

This place can accommodate up to 68 men at any given time. You’ll be divided into two buildings, with 34 men in each. One thing I like is that it’s set in a serene, private environment that feels like home. Most guys stay in the program for around four to six months.

While you’re there, you’ll follow a customized treatment plan to help you overcome drug and alcohol addiction. You’ll also get tips on how to cope with life’s stressors in healthy ways. During the day, you’ll partake in individual and group therapy and psychoeducation. There’ll be a case management team that will tackle your underlying health disorders..

To help you adapt to the program, they designed their facility to be as comfortable and homey as possible. In addition to your room, you’ll have access to communal dining rooms, living rooms, a kitchen and a gym. There’s a focus on teamwork and accountability, and all residents are required to cook dinner for the group on a rotating schedule. It’s neat how the staff members and counselors sit down to eat with the other guys at dinnertime. This gives everyone a chance to reflect on the day, talk about their goals and connect with each other.

Well to start, they have a former staff member that has been prowling on the women clients that leave for years, and if he was a nice guy, that genuinely cared about women's well being, I would commend. He knows nothing about recovery or addiction but worked there and tried to get with all the former clients because he knows where to prey.Secondly, I feel they degrade and embarrass. Clean floorboard with toothbrushes, get with the times.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in New Jersey is the process of addressing the complex issues involved with addiction. Challenges are identified and addressed through individual and group counseling. Participants learn how to manage these issues without the use of substances.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

I left Hansen House march 30th of this year, I didnt complete the program but instead left on my own for an array of reasons. There was absolutely no recovery, no counseling, no help with outside issues but instead they just pushed work work work.... I knew I would be working, which is one of the reasons I chose to go to Hansen, but I thought I would be getting treatment as well. The counselors were over worked, and it really showed. Ms. Cristina is a tech and does more than counselors do but getting paid half of what the counselors do. They want our money and it's every obvious. Money was going missing out of other women's accounts and the director swore that the house didn't touch it. They rob people. My wallet was stolen while I lived at the house and I knew it was my roommate. The house refused to do anything about it so I confronted her myself and the staff on duty called the police on me instead of trying to help me. I would never suggest Hansen House. They should be shut down

I actually believe living here for 6 months after leaving Integrity House saved me recovery and life. The Hansen House program provides you with employment and structure. There are flaws- I was placed on an air mattress because they're overcrowded at times. The counselors are often overwhelmed but Miss Sandra was wonderful. If you advocate for yourself respectfully-You will benefit from this experience. I'm clean 5 years later.

I was here in 2016 for 3 months following my 6 month inpatient at John Brooks in Atlantic City..between John Brooks and Hanson house these two places changed my life! I had no idea what to expect at rehab or a halfway house... To be honest I didn't even realize what a halfway house was! Now I get it! They take their times while still giving you the treatment and recovery help that you get while you are in rehab... While they slowly get you back into society... They help you get a job, they help you save money for when you get out... If you want to get into a sober living facility they can get you there... They are very helpful and they show you and explain to you all of the useful information that you need to get back out in the world and do things that you really don't know how to do because you have been "running " or getting high on the streets for so long.. the answer so many questions.. and they help you grow so much more than you even realize.. the counselors there are incredible! And they truly do care. I definitely recommend going here... Or if you have someone you love struggling I recommend HANSEN HOUSE.. they also have a men's unit right next door. They have great food and the girls here all take turns cooking for each other, they work, they are instructed to do chores everyday and it gets everyone in a routine and teaches them how to share responsibilities and live..I'm grateful for Hanson house

Some of the counselors genuinely care but management as a whole is worried about profit. Instead of rehabilitation and re-integration. They still owe me $500 from my savings account and it's been almost 3 months.
