Grace House saved my life. I went through different treatments and multiple attempts at sobriety without success. I arrived at Grace House a broken, hopeless person and I didn t expect to stay long. I believed I was happy living the life I was living before I came here. I trusted nobody and didn t trust anything anyone said to me. Sarah Coupe changed my life by being a safe person I could connect with and trust. I felt like I was finally heard when talking to her and she changed my life with her love and guidance in more ways than I can name. I met a community of incredible women through Grace House that will be lifelong, genuine friends with a shared goal of living free and clean. The difference with Grace House is you regain your inner power and connect with nature, spiritually, and the beauty and simplicity of life without needing a substance to do so. It is a safe, loving environment where you are given the tools, steps, and guidance to regain your life. My experience at Grace House will always be a sacred time in my life that I hold in my heart and cherish forever.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs provide a wide range of programs, services, and treatment schedules to accommodate clients' unique and evolving needs. Many outpatient treatment centers offer evening, night, and weekend services to accommodate clients' work and home schedules. Clients in outpatient treatment typically engage in multiple counseling sessions weekly, including group and family therapy. Many facilities also prioritize recovery-focused life skills training to support clients' sustained sobriety and successful community reintegration. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is also prevalent in outpatient care.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Linden Oaks' Residential Stay Program offers additional support for those who may benefit from a structured living environment. A patient's stay may vary from a few days to 30 days ago. The program includes group, family and individual counseling.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Men and women in Maine who participate in group therapy sessions find it builds a sense of community among the participants. Group therapy is usually facilitated by trained therapists who incorporate evidence based techniques that promote recovery and lasting change.

Individual therapy offers personalized sessions for drug and alcohol addiction treatment to help uncover and address the root causes of addictive behavior. Your therapist will provide individualized, one on one support to help you build resilience and develop healthier habits with a focus on long term sobriety.

The therapist engaged in family therapy work with all family members to understand the impact addiction has had on the family unit and individual members. They help develop collective strategies for recovery and facilitate open discussions to help families build resilience and improve interactions. This helps to support their loved one's path to recovery.

This is a very special place where my daughter has been able to find true "grace" and a chance to restart after 14 years out there in active addiction. The intensity of the work that is done, the honesty, the support, the education, and the safety comes together to create a transformational environment for anyone who is ready and willing to do the work. Thank you to Sarah, Amanda, Lisa, and all of the staff of Grace House, for being there for my daughter when she needed it. This is a very special place and we have not seen anything even close to this in all these years. Blessings to all of you.

My daughter has been at grace and it has saved her life and helped her learn to live a safe healthy life. I could not be more grateful to the owner and her commitment to helping these women when they need it

I have been in and out of treatment and sober houses for 11 years now. I have met a lot of people along the way , and out of all of those people sarah Coupe was the first person to not only give me knowledge and understanding around my addictions but to give me hope. Sarah does not just provide a place for women to live she has created a safe home for women of all ages to get sober and learn how to stay sober. I will be forever thankful for everything she has done for me and for my family and loved ones .

As the parent of someone who struggled for a long time with addiction to multiple substances, Grace House has made a world of difference for our daughter. My wife and I are beyond grateful that she landed there after 30 days in detox.Grace House puts those who want a life free from substance dependence in a position to succeed. The founder, Sarah Coupe, is a no-nonsense yet compassionate person, who takes her work very seriously. Her reputation is well-known. As a parent, I ve found Sarah to be very responsive to my calls and texts, and our daughter now considers her to be like a second mother. The house managers, too, have been friendly and responsive to our queries, which in the beginning were many.Tailored around the 12 steps, Sarah has developed a system that allows the women to really dig into the work of recovery without the distractions that can often derail people in the early days (cell phones, social media, the opposite sex, looking for work). The day she arrived, our daughter was given a sponsor to contact so that process, which can be intimidating and time-consuming and stressful, was taken out of the way. There is a pack mentality at Grace House, where the women all support one another and do activities as a group, from walking meditations to bowling to volunteering to writing. (There's as much emphasis on action as there is on discussion). There is no isolating which is something that repeatedly undermined our daughter in the past. And while step work is central while a Grace House resident, the women are also exposed to a variety of support groups and treatment approaches, from Refuge Recovery to Smart Recovery to meditation. That Portland is such a recovery-focused city means the atmosphere beyond the three Grace Houses is one of support and opportunity for like-minded connections. The difference between where we were one year ago and where we are today is so big it feels miraculous. And while we give our daughter a ton of credit and praise for all the hard work she has put in, Grace House has been instrumental in fostering it.I can t stress it enough: your loved one has to be ready, to want change, but if they do, Grace House presents an opportunity to make that new life a reality. (And the Grace House dogs are a wonderful component, too). We can t thank Sarah, our daughter s sponsor, and her fellow residents enough.Caleb and Chris D.Cambridge, Mass.

I have such an immense amount of gratitude for Sarah Coupe and this house. I was able to learn so much amount myself and about the way in which I had been navigating through life. The Grace House was a such a safe and supportive environment that enabled me to reevaluate the coping skills that had been failing me for so long. The hopelessness and isolation I felt upon entering the house were replaced with an excitement for living and lifelong connections that I could have never dreamed of.
