Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehabs feature intensive clinical supervision and a highly structured and supportive environment, meaning they are especially well suited for clients in early recovery and those at risk of relapse. Clients reside at the treatment facility and engage in various therapeutic sessions throughout the day, including addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Many programs also offer evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation and massage.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Georgia is designed to encourage an individual to get the treatment they need. This effort aims to break through resistance and motivate the individual to get help. The process typically involves loved ones sharing their concerns with the individual and how their substance use has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist can help guide this conversation and explain from the clinical side how treatment can be beneficial.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Georgia reduces the risks involved in detox and addiction treatment. Without access to professional medical care, individuals may experience withdrawal symptoms that become life threatening. For example, alcohol withdrawal can cause delirium tremens, confusion, and cardiac symptoms. Without medical supervision to step in, these symptoms could potentially turn fatal.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.

Clinical Services

While cognitive behavioral therapy in Georgia is unique for each person, this therapy follows a standard structure that has proven effective. Clients first learn about their substance use disorder, then learn and practice techniques such as coping, stress management, and resilience to change their thought and behavior patterns.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Many life skills involve coping with emotions and stress. Others involve completing tasks that allow you to live independently. Examples include finding a job, managing finances, and nutrition. During rehab in Georgia, you'll work on any skills that are lacking to ensure you have the tools for success post treatment.

This picture is from me coming to do my son s hair after driving an hour away because she refuses to let me have my children, the police was called for no reason. I was her foster child she stole my kids from me at 16 I had no parents graduated college two degrees and she dragged me through hell had me arrested in custody court for violation of a tpo hired a high powered attorney and had me facing 20 years in prison for 3 years I fought. I lost my house my job as a postal worker. Stole my business plan for an independent living program and did a podcast telling all of my children s business and my business regarding their mental health to the public. She fails to provide therapy and psychiatric services other than a pediatrician no 504 plan no ieps no services until I initiated them. This business is a joke. she is sneaky after filing for custody of my kids I violated a restraining order to see them she had my kids live with me because she couldn t control them and smirked when she gave them back and refused to even let them visit why she collected the money for years. She came to my house with my child home alone to confiscate them back because she said I owed her money that I didn t have being that she s collecting all the month for them. I have been reporting her abuse for years and nothing has been done emotionally she has traumatized me and all of my children .she is a demon please stay away from her do not do business with the devil she smiles bright but is very cold and evil on the inside. i am 30 she has been dragging me through custody hell 16 years everyday i am still learning to be happy to keep persevering to keep moving no matter how many times she stomps on top of me tearing me down she is manipulative and sneaky and prays on teen moms with young kids and takes custody from the mom that s why she has all those teen moms children in her home. she is dangerous to work with keep kids away from her she can no longer even foster through the state of ga she has been banned for years stay away from her she is shady and dangerous and emotionally abuse to all children.

Should have option for no stars. It took 3 months for them to respond to referral and schedule initial assessment. Assessment completed via zoom, then nothing. Scheduling reaches out to schedule another intake "due to updates they need to redo everything." Complete second intake. 2 weeks later message about paperwork I was supposed to receive via email, no response. My child sends a message the following week and gets a response, " working on it". It has now been another month with no response, and nothing scheduled. However insurance was notified and they approved of community services so ga hope had no issues with getting the billing taken care of...although intake was only appointment. I have reached out about the services through the ga hope website but we've yet to get a response- shocker. If your child needs MH services...go elsewhere as they clearly won't get any assistance from GA HOPE.

I have been a client with Georgia hope for a year now via zoom/teams teletherapy. My first therapist was so amazing she was the one. She was the one who inspired me to get my bachelor's degree in Psychology for mental health. Then go for my masters to become an LPC. Well she ended up moving onto another job in April of this year. Then I got my new one end of April. I loved her too but sadly she's going somewhere else too. I see the new one next week. Even though I gave 5 stars I am bummed I keep getting new therapist. I didn't even find out about my new one until she called me today to tell me the news. I feel as if that shouldn't be happening as for some people like myself bringing up their trauma every time with a new therapist causes ptsd for weeks.

This place is a joke. We have been here twice now and they keep saying no your appointment was at this time when they told us a different time. And I even had my mom here and she said that wasn't right. This place is a joke. They don't want to help anyone . We had more help from the fort Oglethorpe location then this one. They really want to mess with people mental health. I truly don't know how they can sleep at night. When they have truly don't want to help kids or teenagers.

This is the worst place to get ahold of someone. I been leaving voicemails for a month and no one has reach out to me to get an appointment booked. I finally got ahold of someone in the office and At first I was told that I needed to reach Allison the supervisor left her 5 voicemails after 2 weeks decided to called the office again and was told that I needed to email janelle !! To get an appointment honestly worst experience I have ever had with a professional facility. 2 months in and no one has reach out to me & no appointment has been made !!

If I could give GA Hope negative stars, I would. I've been trying for 6+ months to get my son into therapy. September 2022, a referral was made and I have an intake appointment. After that appointment, the man we met with had every excuse to not follow through with the scheduled appointments (3 total) until finally I never heard anything else from him or anyone else with GA Hope. In January 2023, we switched primary pediatricians and they sent over a new referral. Fast forward to the beginning of this month when I finally heard something back from a lady in the referrals department at GA Hope. I was told I would have to have a new intake appointment done since it had been so long and it was scheduled for the 21st. That day came and no one ever called or text to give me the Zoom info. The next day, she told me she tried to call me numerous times, but had my old number, which doesn't make since as I had typed my new number in an email I had sent on the 16th. We rescheduled the intake appointment for the 28th for 5pm. I logged on to Zoom at 4:30 and waited until 5:15, with no one ever joining. The next day, I sent in a complaint via the GA Hope website. 4 hours ago, I called and left a message. I find it incredibly insane that I've jumped through so many hoops to get NO WHERE. Apparently a child's wellbeing doesn't matter to GA Hope as my son would really benefit from therapy. I hope no other parent has to go through this with these people.

After we moved to Dalton, Ga Georgia Hope was the place that was recommended to us by the school to take our 7 yr old son who has ADHD. He had previously been seen at a different therapist where we used to live. I want to start off by saying it takes forever to get an appointment. I called their office, and left a voicemail ,and it took a week or more for someone to call me back about the appointment. I opted for an in person appointment because my son I knew wouldn t be able to focus on someone over the computer. Well as soon as we enter the appointment the doctor was not even in the room she was on a laptop. I understand health practices since Covid ,but if I had known it would be that way I would have stayed home, and had the appointment since the office is almost 20 minutes from my house. The doctor Dr Maittom I believe is how you spell it. I could barely understand her over the laptop. I kept having to ask her to repeat herself. She was very dismissive ,and did not have a friendly demeanor. Definitely not someone I felt comfortable with. The medicine my son had been on for years she said she would not prescribe it because of his low weight, and he has always been small framed. His doctor where we previously lived had no trouble prescribing the medicine he needs to focus in school, but she kept saying no. Later I found out this office doesn t even prescribe the medicine he needs they just tell their patients excuses ,and won t directly come out ,and say they don t prescribe it. I was even told not to go back here to go to White s Pediatrics where they actually prescribe the medicine. The only good part was the lady who took my sons weight etc. Sandra she had a friendly demeanor. The doctor was awful. Cold. Just not a good bedside manner. She said she didn t know how my son would turn out later in life etc ,and she told my son good luck. I don t even know why GA Hope would allow her to work with patients. Especially children. His next appointment is supposed to be in March, but I will take my son elsewhere ,and I do not recommend this place at all.

I am really disappointed . I went through the whole set up of services for my son and the therapist never called for his session. I left a message with Ga. Hope and never got a call back.
