I loved this place. The only issue I had there was aftercare. But it wasn't entirely their fault. I didn't have insurance and there wasn't enough time for them to do much when it came to that. But if not for the way things unfolded I wouldn't be where I am today with more than a year clean and doing so well. The only thing I wish is that it was a longer program with more aftercare. Other than that this place was great, great staff above all else. And man the food was amazing. The two woman chefs are absolutely incredible!

Our community is so blessed to have a place like Hibiscus. As a volunteer of many years there, I've seen so many youth who have received so much support and extra help preparing for adult life. Florida has so many fantastic benefits for foster kids, including for when they reach age 18-21 and move on from Hibiscus. By then they've had a chance process, heal, and also have had the opportunity to work, to build their resumes, have some savings, etc. But places like this don't come to exist automatically, it was founded by many concerned citizens to be a place of refuge for our youth. My counselor Mrs.Maureen Kunkel made my experience positive at Thrive (formally known as Substance Abuse Council of IRC). Mrs.Maureen has been compassionate, understanding and attentive with me catering to my case and recovery. I was able to complete my three months of treatment and I now feel better equipped to confront life s difficulties. My Monday groups with Maureen were insightful, I was able to have peer support with others going through a similar situation. All of the staff at the front desk and drug testing have also been very helpful. I highly recommend this establishment for those looking for help with substance abuse. I was celebrated by the whole office today for now being discharged and completing the program.
