A year ago yesterday Kat picked me up from the airport. In 10 minutes, I'll be going to a meeting to pick up my 1-year chip From the moment I picked up the phone and spoke with the rep, Trisha, I had an amazing experience! She and my sister helped me coordinate my trip, as I was in no condition to do so myself. Within hours I had an airplane ticket and a bed.The first week is a daze. But I was comfortable, taken care of, and well fed. They also accommodated my dietary needs.The med staff paid close attention, monitoring vitals, and doing extra check-ins as needed (ex: coming during the night to check blood pressure if too low). The medication made detox comfortable, and made me feel safe (a major reason I chose a center was fear of DTs/death). The staff doctor was great, too.While there, we were offered groups that were very beneficial. These included relaxation/meditation/ mindfulness sessions, communication classes, and chiropractic services. There were fun activities like tiedye and group painting. H & I also came in daily, or was run by house staff. This was my intro to AA, which I've come to love and embrace.The rooms were comfortable, with a TV for each bed (head phones provided). My particular roommate situation was incredible! 3 of us text regularly, and are certain to be lifelong friends.The grounds are beautiful! The courtyard is a lovely place to relax and socialize. The back yard area has activities like corn hole and yard nuts. There's a sandbox that I called my beach, and would lounge and journal with my feet in the sand.Initially, I planned on detox, only, and then returning to Michigan. When I realized that detox was only the first step, they had reps from rehab facilities visit to help coordinate the second step.Shout out to Kenny, Kat. Marissa, Kenith, Rick and Felicai. I'm sure staff has changed, and that I've forgotten many names. But I'll never forget the amazing people that helped me start my road to recovery.

Dear Recreate and people interested in getting clean and sober: Recreate could not have been a better or greater experience, and will always and forever have a place in my heart and mind. It will, for as long as I live be a fond fond memory.. for the quality experience, for the comfort and fun had, for the many caring individuals I met there. I couldn t have been at a better place or surrounded by better people! Staff and clients alike! They were all so welcoming and ready to cheer you up should your day be a tiny bit off. The techs were everything they could be and more..compassionate, great at listening, real and personable, know what they talk of.. and are well informed regarding notes in the computer system.. but above all they are nice, and private and professional. A great plus..is that..probably about 97 or 98% of the staff.. have been where we were or are..and know the ropes and what is is all like and all about. All of them were chock-a-block full of good wisdom and advice should you want or need it. The other therapists were absolutely great, and my therapist, Katie.. was wonderful.. quite intuitive and ready to be flexible.. she s kind and an A-1 listener too! Listening well and then asking crucially accurate questions, ones that are quite revelatory and at just the right strength of thinking. They are very careful to do your paperwork properly too..as some places don t, and just rush through it. They take the time to get it right. They are great at accommodating you and your needs.. especially should you have forgotten something or don t even have it in the first place. I wouldn t have gotten sober at any place mimicking the greatness of this place.. only here. I feel safe here and unfortunately cannot return unless on the other side of matters. The place is, also, as far as I can see.. without a blemish of corruption like you may get elsewhere.The group facilitators are well qualified, Lindsay in particular, and are interesting, fascinating and actually care.. rarely did I find any reason to be bored or tired. My medical concerns were addressed promptly, with all care, and accurately.Eleycia, case manager.. was very knowledgeable and helpful. The alumni coordinators are so nice and know what they are talking about when it comes to meeting the real world again. They keep in great touch. Their alumni is so great and clean and the only alumni I d ever want to be part of. I got such an education here and a residency beyond all I could have asked! Do yourself a favor and if you are struggling, give recreate a call! It was a blessing of blessings!! Thank you all so much surpassing any ability of mine to vocalize it! Recreate is that place!! My daughter recently spent time at HEAL in their trauma therapy program. She went there after a short but very negative experience at another treatment center in Florida. From the moment she arrived, she was welcomed literally with open arms. Unlike many treatment facilities, the HEAL website accurately reflects their program. It is not a one size fits all program. It is a small facility which allows the staff to really know the clients and group sessions are deliberately kept small. Unfortunately my daughter was sick much of the first week she was there, but the staff went out of their way to ensure her health was a priority. The physical facility where the clients stay is a wonderful, peaceful ranch that is very calming and comfortable. There was always staff at that facility, and they made a sustained effort to get to know my daughter. Sure there were some rough times, but no treatment facility is perfect and treatment is not supposed to be easy. The staff took the time to communicate with us and keep us abreast of my daughter s progress. Weekends, nights, they were always available. I want to particularly note the hands-on approach of the owner of HEAL. She is passionate about helping people and is always on top of what is going on with clients. She went out of her way to accommodate my daughter s circumstances. Many facilities now have absentee owners or have been bought by larger entities. That is not true of HEAL and that is what makes it so special. We eventually found HEAL because we had a treatment professional in Florida who helped us find the right fit. We learned the hard way that relying on reviews or a website description or what admissions staff said was not how to pick a facility. So I help this review helps others. I can assure you this review was not solicited by anyone at HEAL. It is a true reflection of our experience. I would heartily recommend HEAL to anyone needing trauma therapy!

i was welcomed to the Freedom House after spending 8 days in PBG hospital. i arrived with literally nothing. Everyone was so kind and generous to help with clothes and food and rides to meetings. Freedom house is clean and in a nice neighborhood. Plenty of local meetings to get to by bicycle, bike, or walking. Ive been here 8 months now and over the last 6 years been through many many sober houses, freedom house being one of the best ones. People who actually care, people with significant clean time, who are willing to listen, talk and make suggestions to try and help in my recovery.
