outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

medicare iconElectroconvulsive Therapy

ECT is a form of treatment in which controlled electric currents are passed through the brain, sometimes causing short seizures. Treatments are done under general anesthesia. ECT appears to change brain chemistry for the better, and has been shown to provide fast and sometimes dramatic improvements in severe mental health conditions that can exist alongside addiction, including depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and suicidality. ECT is also often used by those who prefer it to taking medication.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

0/10 would not recommend this place, I was the youngest there and felt uncomfortable the whole time, they will use your emotions against you and I was not allowed to cry or be upset because the psychiatrist told me that crying is a sign of mental help and they wouldn t let me leave until I learned how to handle my emotions. I was grabbed by one of the patients and the nurse sat there and did nothing about it. One of the patients ran up to me and screamed at me and I started crying and the psychiatrist said I need to learn how to handle myself better. That same girl I was roomed with and I asked to switch rooms because she was 10 times bigger than me and her nurse at times would leave her alone and the psychiatrist said I can t have my way but thankfully one of the lead techs saw how uncomfortable I was and switched my room. I also had to barricade my door at times because one of the girl patients that grabbed me would try to enter the room and once again the nurses did nothing about it. They refuse to let me call my parents after that situation and one of the nurses techs told them to put on the ones and they refused. I was only 19 and everyone around me was in there 30s to late 60s. I would not recommend this place they do not care about your wellbeing and often times would laugh when me and my roommate were scared and would laugh when we got emotional. The psychiatrist only spoke to me for 2-3 min a day and then would say I m not sure when you are going home. I was told that since I was not injured that the girl who grabbed me would not be in "trouble" because we are in a mental hospital and that s just what happens in mental hospitals. I want to thank the nurse who actually listened to me I m not sure how to spell his name but I m pretty sure it s shye he changed my room and was very helpful. And I want to thank the few nurses who asked if I was okay after. Please do not go here, and do not let your loved ones go here. They will manipulate and mentally abuse you.

Unorganized, inconsistent, tried to change my medications resulting in physical and emotional issues. Directed me to visitors who came to see me and they were not my relatives but rather another patients. Staff seemed confused and overworked. Enviroment was drab and not condusive to uplifting a patients mood. No group sessions while I was there. No Sunday services. Chaplain seemed nervous around patients. Little to no interaction between staff and patients.Enviroment needs to be more cheerful.Staff needs more training on protocols and how to positively interact with patients in their care.Food barely edible.Best I can say is that at least the physician, psychiatrist and case worker were kind and caring.

Dr Ruiz does not empathize with the patient. He is very rude and does not listen to the patient's family member who is the one who sees the evolution day by day. I do not recommend it. He doesn't have the heart to be a doctor. He does not see the patient with the idea of improving her/him and incorporating her/him into her/his normal social life.

Called everywhere to get a good place to take my son and I even called to see if this hospital does inpatient for kids with psychological issues they said yes. I got here they ran tests had an observer who was super rude the entire time and police officer staying with us. They Barker Acted him and sent him somewhere else after hours of being here. And trying to tell them where to take him and no one listened. Very insensitive

They really listen to what you re saying. Dr. Ruiz is really great at this. I have been going to him for a long time and would really hate to have to change doctors.
