How can anyone take staff seriously when they show up to work in a AC DC t-shirt, worn out pants, baseball hat, and looking completely unkempt; or sweatshirt, sweatpants, baseball cap. Baseball cap?? Inside?? Who sits for 8 hours doing everything in their power to not have to stand? The appearance of these people are also reflected in their very bad attitudes.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

dollar-outline iconFinancing available

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and dysfunctional eating patterns. Many psychologists and other mental health professionals consider eating disorders to be food addictions, meaning food is being used in an addictive way (similar to drug or alcohol addiction). Certain substance abuse treatment programs will have treatment for eating disorders as one of the services offered. An eating disorder may also present as a co-occuring disorder or dual diagnosis alongside drug and alcohol addiction.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

After going to this practice for over two years, I was happy with the services provided.Fast forward to this month January, I have had to switch doctors because the doctor "wasn't comfortable with treating me ", then I was told that the doctor left the practice. So which is it? The doctor left or she didn't want to treat me anymore? Talk about mind games with a mentally ill person, being deceived isn't right to do to anyone, mentally ill or not. Then I was assigned a new doctor who didn't have the time to listen to me. After that appointment with the new doctor, I left upset.A therapy practice is supposed to help descelate a situation, not make confrontation worse. The last straw was when my intelligence and memory was insulted, and then I was told that I was required to take drug tests. Never in my life since I have been taking mental health medications have I ever been required to take drug test, money suckers.I don't appreciate being deceived. If it's not broken, don't fix it. I'm not a guinea pig.The wait time on hold on the phone is also a problem. This practice needs to change there ways. This practice is a laughing stock.

i have never had a more dehumanizing experience in healthcare in my lifei had a referral to this practice from the beginning of september. the first time they called me i was at work. when i called back after my work hours, they said only a supervisor could handle my referral and the supervisor was only in 9-5 on weekdays. those house don t work for me (or most people, i assume?) because i work, so i asked if they could email me. they took down my email and said they would be in touch soon.then i got a letter in the mail saying that they tried to contact me twice, and if i didn t respond to this letter in 2 days they would terminate my referral. i called soon after opening this letter and told the girl on the other end that they were supposed to email me and she said they weren t able to send communications over email. when i asked why i was told they would if they couldn t, they didn t have an answer for me, but they said their supervisor was in and they would transfer me to talk to her now. when they transferred me it went straight to voicemail.i called again and the third receptionist said that i could not actually talk to a supervisor and had to leave a message for two different people. they were very cold and unkind and completely unsympathetic that i was frustrated with the back and fourth.when i left a message for a supervisor and she called me back she told me it was the first time that a message had been left for her despite me calling at least 5 times.throughout the process of just TRYING to schedule i gave my availability and was ONLY ever given appointments outside of my availability. this happened at least 3 times. then when they finally scheduled me for a time that worked for me, they called back the next day to tell me that the therapist had left the practice so she could no longer see me. at this point i had cancelled going forward with my current therapist and they could not fit me back in. this means because of YOUR PRACTICE i am now WITHOUT a therapist completely. when i tried to explain this to your manager (bridget? bridgid?) all she said to me in a very not nice tone was well it s not MY fault the therapist left the practice. i never suggested it was- only tried to explain what i am writing in this review but she wouldn t let me get a word in. she said she would call me when she found something else. i called after a few days of me not hearing from her to check in again and they said that they tried to contact me but my voicemail was full. i never got a call from them during my availability so i checked my phone- they called me again at a time i specifically said i was not available. now the only alternative time they offered me was a time that, again, was not within my availability. there are only TWO nights a week where i can not do early in the evening and they only offered appointments to me on these days. i asked the receptionist that called me what would happen if i could not take that appointment (all i was told was that it was the first available, not that it was the only available) and they said they would call me back to schedule something else. it s now been about a week and a half and i have not heard from anyone.i understand it is no one s fault that a therapist left a practice (except with the attitude i got from your staff and your manager, maybe it is) but the complete lack of empathy your staff has for dealing with people in a mental health crisis is disgusting and they should be ashamed of themselves. i would rather not be in therapy then have to deal with these people any longer. do yourself a favor and don t even waste your time. i got referred over a month ago and they still haven t made any real effort to get me seen. they only made my situation actively worse. i imagine if anyone was even in a slightly worse situation, this lack of care could have seriously hurt them.

I've been a client for over 20yrs.....when I began the program with case management one of the most important roles for me was their ability to bridge the gaps.....meaning they would obtain paperwork for programs and grants...also find out what programs and grants you qualify for/or entitled to.....I fully understand funding isn't available to US clients the way it used to be.....but it seems all the little things they used to do that helped the disabled/and mentally ill are no longer important to them..I've read the original handbook but it seems it doesn't matter because what they say they can do is totally diffrent from there originalresponsibilities which once made it useful and helpful...I find it disgusting how everything has been turned into politics and what they won't do but still expectIT also saddens me more that their are those that cannot advocate for themselves and don't know there intitlementsgetting brushed off and pushed to the side....Casemangments responsibilities were to bridge the gap between transportation housing legals and medicals SO WHAT HAS HAPPENED OR WHAT are your responsibilities and WHAT ARE YOU HERE FOR ???

I had called in late December to reschedule a January 3rd appointment a week before it was supposed to take place. I spoke to someone who scheduled me for January 20th. After being away for a couple of days, I checked my voicemail and heard a message from FSL saying that I "never showed up" for the appointment that I had already rescheduled, and that because of this, they were "closing my case". I called back to find out what went wrong, seeing as I was on top of rescheduling, and they had no record of my cancellation OR the appointment they gave me (how does FSL even have someone put me in for January 20th at 10:20am and then just...forget? I didn't come up with that time; FSL did). They told me there was "nothing they could do" and that I would have to reapply for services, a process which took three weeks. I asked if I could have a medication refill to tide me over, and they said they couldn't do that because I "was no longer a client" and "needed to reapply for services". So, let me get this straight - I call a week in advance to cancel an appointment and reschedule, and FSL1. doesn't log the cancellation2. doesn't log the rescheduled date3. removes me from the system4. leaves me high and dry and without the medication I need5. is unable to connect me with anyone else who can helpGood. Real good. Definitely glad to know these people REALLY keep their clients safe and properly cared for. Do not go near this place unless you want to wind up in an unsafe, dangerous health predicament.
