They changed my mother's apt without even calling her or sending a message through mychart. So when she went to the clinic to meet her doctor, her doctor wasn't even there to meet with her. She also told them she doesn't meet with male doctors so when they rescheduled her, my mother thought it was with her same doctor she was supposed to meet that day, her female doctor. I checked her mychart appointments and it was with a male doctor. I had to call to reschedule this crap of service to get it all sorted out.

I recently had an eye appointment and checked in at the front desk before seeing my optometrist. The front desk staff was thorough, kind, and made the check-in process quick and seamless. During my appointment, Dr. Royal and the team, especially Al, were highly efficient and professional. When I picked up my new glasses, Al went above and beyond, courteously helping me adjust the frames for a perfect fit. Al truly stands out as an exceptional team member. Overall, my experience with this team has been nothing short of fantastic!

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I think they are very professional and gives a very good service. I just hate this center because I had an experience when I felt judged by someone of the clerk staff, this was enough for me to stop visiting this center

Deserve zero star. Had an eye exam at the eye clinic and will be the last time there. The Dr is good but the 2 old guys behind the desk are really rude and unprofessional. One said he would help me but he can't so he handed my prescription to the other guy and he pointed at glasses to look for and that I would have to cover for everything. I walked away confused because I normally never have to cover for everything so I walked back and ask and he looked in the computer and said ok it's covered then point at where I should look for glasses. Someone came after me and he showed her around and even after a few minutes, he went to check on her if she need any help or questions, didn't bother to ask me. I asked for my prescription and left.

I made an appointment with my provider a month in advance, but because I arrived 2 minutes late the lady at the front desk wouldn't check me in. She made me sit and wait 25 minutes while she helped everyone else who walked in the door after me, while she ignored me. She said she was waiting for a response from their team. We'll it's too late now, you could've checked me in at 2 minutes late. Now you've made me 25 minutes late and wasted my time because of your hatred and ignorance. I told her I was having a hard time breathing when I first tried to check in. Don't bother coming here, they won't let you check in. If they do, you end up waiting 1-2 hours to see your primary care doctor that you made an appointment for a month in advance. They can waste your whole day, but God forbid if you're 2 minutes late.

Words cannot express how bad this place is. We are witnessing the fall of the Healthcare system in real time and it isn't due to technology, it's because of human failure. No where else will you find ruder receptionists and nurses alongside doctors who couldn't care less about you. Horrible humans working here, i felt hated last i came here, and that sounds ridiculous but it's undeniable how much of an inconvenience a patient is to them, even though I was the 2nd patient car in the parkinglot on a slow day the last time i came in.Walking in this building, you are lining up to hand your money to people who openly insult your intelligence, argue with you, belittle your questions and concerns, and give you absolutely nothing in return- oh besides the googled print out of unrelated symptoms with a fairview letterhead. I get why older people decide to stay home instead of going in to get care, they're older and wiser than me. Unfortunately, I'm at odds trying to find a reasonable place to bring my children, because as most of us know all too well that it can't be here.

If you have a child requiring urgent care please consider going elsewhere. My 16 year old was treated like an annoyance by the "provider". Basically told us to leave and then we get a bill. Direct quote from said provider. "She will either be in pain at home or waiting in the ER". Clearly no motivation to help my daughter. Now they expect to pay for this?

We are in Florida and our minor-aged son is in MN for hockey. The staff at Brooklyn Park, Theresa and Dr. Linda Barrett in particular, were so kind to help us get our boy seen and taken care of. Very nurturing, family-oriented staff! Thank you!
