DO YOU HAVE KIDS? Sharing our experience. My 7 year old had a fever and sore throat, we make an appointment vs urgent care same day. We get seen by a nurse, not a doctor followed by a covid and strep test. Both are negative. Final prognosis = undetermined. Get a bill for $611 after "insurance discounts." Breakdown showed $403 dollars for Covid test, $95 for strep test and $400 for visit. Just because you can legally charge an arm and leg doesn't mean you should. Highway robbery!!!!! Minute Clinic at CVS or Target would have charged $100-200 dollars maximum. Fairview unwilling to work with price. Not going to Fairview for basic care needs ever again.

My expereince has not been positive most of my visits. There are too many bookings, Nurses and Drs. Seem preoccupied or rushed. My questions have not been answered with thought for my individual needs. My Rx needs have not been sent quickly to the pharmacy. Days of wait. Cannot see primmary physician for months out. There is a feeling of dismissal, or being a number to be served.

Overall the care was fine..it's the administrative end of the care that is lacking. I ended up getting a surgical consult scheduled with a doc that didn't have surgical privileges at the hospital my insurance was contracted with ...$567. wasted because of M Health 's rep not verifying that info. Secondly..trying to get someone to call me back about getting some lab tests oked by my doc took three calls. I am moving to another provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

100% do not recommend. I was late and called to see if I could still be seen. I was told to come in anyway. I get there to find out that the provider I scheduled with does not have time and she leaves on maternity leave next week. I waited almost 2 mo

Service itself from the nurses, doctor, some staff was fine. I had a pre op exam here/labs even though I don t normally come to this location and they were supposed to fax the results to my surgeon. Over 2.5 weeks and they never got it. I ve had to go back and forth playing phone tag for something that should have been done the day or day after my exam. Will likely never go here again.

I had an eye exam and Dr. Sadowsky was amazing! Very precise and the tech Kelly was so kind! A special shout out to the front desk gentleman named Brady. He was outgoing, charming, and quite handsome I d have to say. Definitely looked like Jason Kelce. I ll come back just to have Brady check me in again. Some very nice eye candy in addition to a wonderful clinic.

Already did an e-check in and was required to go over all the details again. The lady at check in acts as if she's doing me a service, totally self righteous. "You don't have a cell phone? I can't help you, if they call and can't get a hold of you." Huh???I just had an appointment at the beginning of the month - no details changed. In fact, go in every 6 months due to a health condition. Confirmed that I did an e-check in and she refused to accept the details already in the system. I've watched her do it to others every time I go to this location, this time it was all directed at me. Left the place. The staff BLOWS! Looking for a way out of the Fairview money mill. I'm regularly unsatisfied with my experience here.

I needed to establish care with a new eye doctor and was seen by Dr. Steven Rizzi for a routine eye exam and an updated prescription earlier this year. My husband and I enjoy coming to the Fridley clinic and usually never have a problem. But, I had a terrible experience with him. He spent about only 10 minutes with me, rushing through our conversation and my concerns. He gave me the impression that my time was not valuable to him, and seemed somewhat annoyed at me. After my first eye exam with him, I went back in to get adjusted for my contacts, in which my experience with him was the same. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, hoping that this second experience would be better, but it was the same. I felt unable to be honest with him about my concerns. I felt judged for my questions and even racially profiled by him. I knew I was never coming back at this point. I remember regretting coming back to him for a second time. I eventually ordered glasses from the prescription he gave and after trying them on, the prescription was way too strong for my eyes. I went to a local target optical to check if my intuition was right and got my prescription readjusted, in which the eye doctor there confirmed that the initial prescription was way too strong for my eyes. I'm so disappointed by Dr Rizzi. I do not recommend this provider to anyone.Lily H.
