Texas Helps saved my life!! I went into rehab on April 4th 2026, completely broken and honestly terrified. I’d never been to any rehab before so I didn’t know what to expect. I also have no family so I felt very alone, until I got my first phone call from Texas Helps. A woman named Kim found my number after I put it into a website trying to find help. She instantly made me feel welcomed. She talked to me like a human being, made everything so easy to say yes. Almost too easy to the point where I thought it was a scam lol. Thank god it wasn’t. Within one week, they payed for my flight to San Marcos and guided me the whole way. Harley (lovely woman) picked me up from the airport and again, treated me with so much kindness. We talked about our lives, she helped me feel prepared and steady. When I got to the rehab, everyone was genuine. Not a single member of staff acted like they didn’t want to be there. The environment was calm, clean and inviting. I slept on a cozy bed and woke up on my first morning feeling peaceful! Above all else, Texas helps level of care is phenomenal. My therapist Ashley understood and listened to me in a way no one ever had before. All of the nurses remembered me and treated me like a friend, while making sure I was always physically stable. The Techs treated us with respect always made us laugh. Even the owner David was with us everyday! He ran classes and sat in group alongside us! Texas Helps is organized in their program, but still treats everyone like family. My fellows and I formed such strong bonds and helped each other in moments of turmoil. We were able to learn, laugh, enjoy nature, and let go of so much pain in that one facility. I was even able to paint a beautiful mural on the walls! Needless to say, Today is September 7th 2026 and I am still sober. 6 months ago I could not imagine my life looking this beautiful. I have the power of choice back. I have integrity, and a deep respect for myself. I have drive for the future. That is something I couldn’t have done without Texas Helps. Even after my program was finished, they didn’t let me leave without making sure I was going to a safe sober living. For that I am so grateful. If you are thinking about going to this rehab or sending a loved one, I would 100% recommend. I’m living proof that it works!

Clinical Services

Peer support is an important aspect of group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction. As you and your peers share stories and encourage each other, it fosters a sense of community and belonging that helps you process your feelings and reduces the sense of isolation that is associated with addiction.

Individual therapy offers you a confidential space to address the complexities of your drug or alcohol addiction. Your therapist guides these personalized sessions to help develop self awareness and manage stress. This promotes sustained sobriety and overall well being.

The purpose of family therapy is to create a supportive and understanding family dynamic within the family unit. Therapists help individual members to identify and change harmful behavior patterns and improve communication. This provides a stable foundation for the family and their loved one's recovery.

The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Texas is to change thought patterns, which leads to changes in behavior. Specific techniques during CBT can include self talk, SMART goals, journaling, and positive activities.

The right life skills training will help you build the skills you need for recovery. You'll learn how to solve problems, improve your social life, enhance your mental health, and make good decisions. This is a key component of drug rehab programs in Texas.

Treatment that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach focuses on four strategies. Distress tolerance will help you accept and tolerate intense emotions. Emotional regulation will teach you to manage those emotions. Mindfulness will keep you in the present moment instead of regret or worry. Interpersonal effectiveness will teach you to manage your relationships.

Therapy sessions that incorporate motivational interviewing focus on OARS: open questions, affirmation, reflections, and summarizing. This facilitates an exchange of information and an empowering of the client to decide for themselves what changes might need to be made in their lives.

I was brought here in false promises. Insurance money is all y'all wanted. I would lead an enemy along like y'all did. Praise to the immediate staff! A lot of care is given from therapists, techs and medical. They care a lot and it is shown and felt. For them, they get their 5 stars! However, promises were made, by recruiters and intake, to encourage me to self admit to Texas for treatment that got passed on to another level of treatment that isn't theirs to keep. At the end of the day, it's a business and I feel very much as if insurance's money means more to the higher ups than the promises made towards the personal growth/professional goals of why I choose to be sober in the first place. Not cool guys! If such promises were not made I would have gone about my treatment much different. P.S. Over half of the pictures you see are of staff quarters that clients only get to see in passing.
