About Evoke Wellness – San Marcos

Evoke Wellness in San Marcos is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. They’re dedicated to treating men and women with substance use disorders. Your care takes place in a picturesque landscape with easy access to outdoor parks and forest preserves.

San Marcos is located between Austin and San Antonio and 2.5 hours west of Houston. Evoke Wellness is fully ready to support your journey to transform your personal and professional life. They have a multidisciplinary staff experienced in delivering customized treatment plans tailored to your goal of achieving long term sobriety.

Their approach to addiction treatment in Texas helps you discover healing and stability in your mind, body and spirit. Treatments are rooted in the latest practices. A comprehensive evaluation is the foundation of your customized treatment program to help you determine the first crucial step in your treatment.

The first step is often detoxification. Addictive substances cause physical dependence and withdrawal symptoms can be painful and potentially endanger your life. The staff at Evoke Wellness follows you closely and uses meds approved by the FDA to reduce withdrawal symptoms and help prevent adverse complications.

Once detoxification is completed then the residential addiction treatment program offers hope and healing in a safe and supportive environment where you can focus solely on recovery. Their residential program includes several specialized approaches ranging from trauma interventions to music therapy. Interdisciplinary services address the unique ways that men and women tend to use substances. This type of care is effective in targeting the specific needs and challenges of each gender.

Their veterans program is designed to help retired military personnel in Texas overcome addictions. Veterans struggle with a higher frequency of addiction due to joint mental health conditions like PTSD and chronic pain from injuries sustained during service. Their dual diagnosis care addresses joint disorders in an integrated and comprehensive approach. Simultaneous treatment is essential since behavioral and mental disorders often exacerbate each other.

Their San Marcos facility can provide substance treatment for alcohol addiction and a variety of drugs including cocaine and fentanyl. The polysubstance abuse program addresses unique challenges that come with using multiple substances. The consequences of polysubstance abuse are similar to other addictions but the treatment is more complex.

Whether you struggle with abusing one or more drugs, your customized plan may include medication assisted treatment to build a durable foundation for a long recovery. Prescriptions approved by the FDA like Vivitrol are used to reduce the effects of withdrawal and cravings that can increase the challenges associated with sobriety and treatment.

Evoke Wellness works with most major insurance companies and verifies your coverage before beginning treatment. Their staff understands that the financial questions associated with recovery from drug and alcohol addiction can be overwhelming. Specialized financial counselors are here to help when you’re ready to call.

Clinical Services

Peer support is an important aspect of group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction. As you and your peers share stories and encourage each other, it fosters a sense of community and belonging that helps you process your feelings and reduces the sense of isolation that is associated with addiction.

Individual therapy offers you a confidential space to address the complexities of your drug or alcohol addiction. Your therapist guides these personalized sessions to help develop self awareness and manage stress. This promotes sustained sobriety and overall well being.

The purpose of family therapy is to create a supportive and understanding family dynamic within the family unit. Therapists help individual members to identify and change harmful behavior patterns and improve communication. This provides a stable foundation for the family and their loved one's recovery.

The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Texas is to change thought patterns, which leads to changes in behavior. Specific techniques during CBT can include self talk, SMART goals, journaling, and positive activities.

The right life skills training will help you build the skills you need for recovery. You'll learn how to solve problems, improve your social life, enhance your mental health, and make good decisions. This is a key component of drug rehab programs in Texas.

Treatment that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach focuses on four strategies. Distress tolerance will help you accept and tolerate intense emotions. Emotional regulation will teach you to manage those emotions. Mindfulness will keep you in the present moment instead of regret or worry. Interpersonal effectiveness will teach you to manage your relationships.

Therapy sessions that incorporate motivational interviewing focus on OARS: open questions, affirmation, reflections, and summarizing. This facilitates an exchange of information and an empowering of the client to decide for themselves what changes might need to be made in their lives.

(wouldn't have written such a long review if I was just a complainer. Up to you if you listen. Goodluck)The absolute worst treatment center I have ever encountered and I ve been to a lot (Not bragging, this isn t a good thing). Some have been bad, but at least they generally follow the law, and adhere to the patient bill of rights.I have two grievances that I turned in, one against the discharge coordinator and the other against DeParis - Head of nursing. The second grievance was against Christina-Clinical director. On both I requested they forward them to the Texas HHS ombudsman or give me access to a phone to call them. They responded with You can call them after we admin discharge you - Christina. Same thing when I asked to call the joint commission.. keep in mind it was nearly 100 degrees and I had my service animal with me.Kurt whom is the middle man between Evoke and the parent company.told me my service animal was fake, even though I had all the information and documents to back up the legitimacy of my service animal with me, including extremely detailed notes on the 5 weeks of training. They also messed up with the doctors orders on one of my medications. I had been on Lexapro 30mg for over a year and they forgot to do the taper I was switching to Effexor and supposed to start it after the taper. They cut me off cold turkey from lexapro for 7+ days. After the first few days I fell into an extremely depressed state. I lost 25 pounds because I couldn t stomach food in the 11 days I was trapped there. Kurt the one from earlier even said with a smug smile that I know and I think you know you don t any options. I was so humiliated, angry, and depressed because I thought he was correct. That is when I started to have suicidal ideations. Which led to being suicidal. One night I was so frustrated with the doctors not listening to me and the department heads ambushing me in a sit down . Me sat on a couch with 8 or more employees in front of me, 4 of which I had open grievances on. And sure enough, I started to have a panic attack. They were all staring at me and threatening me not to ask to call the ombudsman or joint commission any more. How did I get out? I requested a ride to the hospital which was 4 minutes away. They ordered a private ambulance to take me. Guess who s paying the bill on that one and a second ambulance to drive me 40 minutes to Laurel Ridge in San Antonio. Laurel Ridge is a psych hospital in case you weren t aware. I stayed there for 5 days and was surprisingly able to stomach food again, the unit I was in was great. I d take a psych hospital over Evoke Wellness and day of the week. I m sure my grievances that I wrote to forward to the ombudsman and joint commission were put in the shredder. They are trying to cover their bottoms. They thought they could abuse me and I wouldn't follow through with Brodcasting what this company is really like. If you go, you're going to be sat on a worn couch until the nurse comes and takes your vitals. You haven't signed anything yet at that point. I'll let those that don't listen to my warning find out for themselves. When I walked in the front door, I had this energy draining affect with all the fluorescent lights humming away and giving you migraines.

So grateful for the help that the staff at sunrise recovery provided me they have huge hearts and you can tell unlike a lot of rehabs, They are not in it for the money. They are genuinely just trying to help you. The inpatient unit has so many amenities. I only did the outpatient program but after seeing the inside of the inpatient building, I wished that I had received my intensive treatment at this facility rather than the one that I went to. There s a meditation room, a basketball, hoop, ping pong table, fully stocked gym, even a little garden you can tend to you name it. This place has it. I was grateful to have the opportunity to work with Sharon in the intensive outpatient program. She truly goes out of her way to try to accommodate all of your needs and help you build a stable foundation for your future would absolutely recommend to anyone seeking any type of treatment
