About Evoke Wellness – Hilliard

Evoke Wellness is an addiction treatment center in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio called Hilliard. The city is well known for its preserved historical district and the Early Television Museum which gives a unique glimpse into the past. The proximity to the state capital of Columbus allows you easy access to metropolitan services and attractions as you undergo rehabilitation. The number one priority of Evoke Wellness is your emotional wellbeing.

They provide a full range of services from initial medical detoxification from drugs or alcohol to residential treatment and outpatient treatment programs. You receive guidance and support throughout treatment that has proven to work. Your treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation that supports a customized treatment plan. The multidisciplinary team includes licensed physicians and nurses, therapists, counselors, psychiatrists and support staff. Many team members are also in long term recovery. They understand your journey and can offer the compassion and care that make a significant difference in your recovery.

Your program may begin with medical detoxification. This provides you with a safe and structured environment where you can receive FDA approved medications to manage or mitigate severe withdrawal symptoms. Medical supervision helps reduce the risk of adverse complications and sometimes life threatening complications.

After completing medical detox you have several addiction treatment options that might be included in your customized plan. The first is the residential treatment program where you’ll receive 24-hour supervision as you learn how to substitute a drug habit with healthy coping strategies and transition to a life of sobriety. They also offer a dual diagnosis program if you’ve been diagnosed with a co-occurring mental health condition and substance use disorder. Integrated and simultaneous care is crucial since these conditions typically affect each other.

Your tailored plan may include an intensive outpatient treatment program that helps address the physical, mental and emotional aspects of drug addiction. You’ll transition into an aftercare program once your formal treatment has been completed. Sobriety is a lifetime journey that requires commitment. You and your therapist develop an aftercare plan that might include recovery centered meetings, prescription medications and a plan for your life after treatment. Aftercare programs help you avoid old habits by providing a support system that helps lower the risk of relapse.

The addiction programs help you make a seamless transition into your daily life. They provide treatment for alcohol addiction and various drugs including polysubstance abuse, painkillers, prescription drugs and illicit drugs. They also provide an extensive library of free ebooks that can help inform you about topics related to addiction like preparing for rehabilitation, having a conversation with your boss or how to explain lapses in employment. They work with many Insurance programs and will verify your insurance coverage before beginning treatment.

I m begging you with all my heart do NOT go here or allow anyone you love to go here. My husband called looking for outpatient therapy for me for mental health and he got referred to this place that sounded like paradise over the phone. I agreed to go under the impression I was able to have access to my phone so I d be able to contact my daughter. This place promised that, said I d be put in a 5 star hotel too for the week. I flew from upstate New York to Columbus Ohio, 10 hours from home. When I was picked up at the airport I was told I wasn t able to have my phone and they were going to take it from me as soon as I got there, was also told they encourage the people there struggling with drugs and addiction coming in to use drugs right before, so they pee dirty and the company makes more money, a staff member is telling me all this on the ride there! What a great first impression! I couldn t believe it and I said I m not staying if I don t have access to my phone. I got there and the place looked like something out of a horror movie compared to what I was told, the staff was unprofessional and very insensitive, they fed me lies to get me to go and then expected me to sign papers of consent after they lied to me about almost everything I was told before I went. I refused treatment and they said to me that I was on my own and I needed to leave the property if I wasn t gonna sign papers to stay. I had a panic attack and left in an ambulance, as a result of being lied to and 11 hours away from family, was told all lies about this place. Theyre dishonest fake terrible people running this, I think they get you far away from home with their empty promises and then trap you and take your money. Got called at the hospital by an admin and I told him about the traumatic experience I had and he encouraged me to go back! Didn t care whatsoever about what I just told him. This place needs to be shut down and I m reporting them. Thank God my husband came and got me this morning or I d be on my own in the streets under their care! Worst experience ever! Don t go here

Why isn't there 0 stars? Do not go here! Understaffed and they are rude. They got several patients medications wrong. One guy didn't get his insulin for 3 days! His blood sugar was over 600! They literally don't know what they're doing there. There's so much chaos and no one's on the same page. Horrible! I'm currently filing reports to the Federal Trade Commission and the Ohio Attorney General. Be aware!

I impulsively decided to do a short stay at this facility, only to regret it. I will say decent stuff first, and then get to the negatives: The food is decent, and there are a lot of snack options. Facility is kept up decently well, and most of the staff seem nice. And now onto the negatives...The BIGGEST issue there are all the smokers. Over 90% of the people there--including STAFF--smoke either cigarettes, vapes or both. While this may not seem like a big deal, it is to a non-smoker such as me. The outside area for people to retreat to for "fresh air" is grossly clogged with smoke. You're talking 3-15 people standing outside chain smoking. It was so bad that I felt nauseous, and had to go inside. I lost the option to get outside into fresh air, or enjoy the night sky, etc.Indoors, people can vape to their heart's content. I was stuck in a room with three other females, all of whom vaped. One female even fell asleep with her vape clung in her hand like a pacifier. Again, when you're a non-smoker, even vapes are tough to breathe in and contend with. I noticed staff members rushing out of the place to go outside WITH the residents, to smoke a cigarette. Talk about unprofessional. There should be a private room for smokers, especially staff members. If you're gonna allow residents to smoke outside--fine. But then make an area for non-smokers, so they're not inhaling that garbage. This IS a place to get healthier, yes? Talk about contradictory. To make it worse, they have a weight room--or so I heard. In my five days there, I never once got a chance to use it. This is because it was only open to residents twice a day, at very specific times, and only if a staff member allowed people in. Funny how they allow smokers to inhale toxins to their heart's content, but restrict the weight room big-time. Not a good message to send at all. When I started to feel ill, I wore a mask, was coughing a lot, etc. I decided to leave because I didn't feel safe or healthy there. I also had a concern for my 80-year-old mother who had just had cancer removed from her face. I tried to call her (which, by the way, they're snotty and resistant to letting you use your cellphone, as if you're in a jail cell), and got no answer. This concerned me because she lives alone and is old. I knew I had to check on her. Lastly, I was worried about finances. I had someone claim to help me, but alas, found out HE was struggling, too, with money. On that note, I requested to leave, for valid reasons. I was tossed around like a salad, to around four people, asking me, "Sooo...what's going on?" Saying it as if they were annoyed I wanted to leave their island. I had explain to a few people the same reasons, almost feeling judged for it.I was put down as ADA (of course--shocker there), and inside was laughing because what doctor has approached me to discuss this? I was feeling sick at that point, and you know why? All the damn smokers everywhere. I was snidely told there were pockets of time I *could* step outside, when smokers aren't there. Baloney. Every hour I checked, there was always someone out there, puffing away. They were also blasting music from an Alexa device. Felt like a bar without alcohol--the smoke and loud music. My feeling sick fell on deaf ears, and I was classified as ADA, which I know will only hurt me financially now. I was also noted as "refusing" medication. I find this laughable, too, because I was given certain meds by protocol, yet after a few days, 1-2 of 'em I did not need anymore. I felt fine, actually, so why waste them on me? Additionally, one of them was killing my stomach. The nurse didn't care if I wanted them or not, and would nonchalantly remove the meds from the cup. Calling it a refusal is harsh, and makes it sound as if I argued with the nurse.(I have more complaints, but running out of room.) I went home with laryngitis, tried to call and email them, but no response. They want you to stay, but when you break free, they don't care about you.
