About Endeavor House North

Endeavor House is a private drug and alcohol addiction treatment center in Kearny, New Jersey. They specialize in giving adult clients personalized treatment through evidence backed methods delivered in a relaxed and warm atmosphere. They are a luxury facility with state of the art amenities. Endeavor House offers a full spectrum of care for clients in any stage of addiction and offers their services to clients regardless of their past treatment history. They also provide dual diagnosis treatment.

Clients who enter the medical detox program at Endeavor House reside at the facility as they undergo the detox process. Medical staff monitor them around the clock and provide care as needed through therapeutic, educational, and medical services, including medication to help curb withdrawal symptoms.

Residential treatment requires clients to live at the facility during their treatment. This allows staff to closely watch and attend to their needs and lowers the risk of relapse by keeping clients in a restrictive, highly structured environment. The length of a stay is based on need, and Endeavor House encourages clients to take the time they need to embrace recovery.

Clients work alongside a personal care team to assess their needs and develop a course of treatment to address them. Recovery is based on therapy (in individual and group settings) and education groups. A client’s daily schedule is filled with recovery activities to help them better understand addiction, learn valuable coping skills, and embrace clean living.

Withdrawal symptoms can be a significant hurdle to a client engaging with treatment. MAT allows the medical team to give clients medication that curbs these difficult and distracting symptoms so they can focus their efforts on healing. MAT is given following an assessment and is closely monitored during ongoing use.

A co-occurring disorder is any mental health diagnosis alongside an addiction diagnosis. Co-occurring disorders can worsen the symptoms of both problems and raise the risk of relapse. By treating the underlying causes and symptoms, co-occurring disorder treatment can significantly reduce the risk of relapse.

I had absolutely no problem at all. The staff were great to me personally. The food was good. Love that we don't have to share rooms. The only little complaint was that my T.V in my room wasn't working but besides that I would definitely recommend this place.

Came here in search of help. After a short intake. Shown through what looked like a haunted house of an old insane asylum to my room. Exposed wiring, dirty floors, OUTSIDE DOORS TO THE HOUSING BUILDING DONT LOCK. So anyone off the street can walk right in! Saw a physician who offered a taper for withdraw. Explained to me it would be a benzo taper which has been successful in the past. Three days and no sleep later. Was told it was not a benzo taper. They offered an Ativan cocktail injection. Completely untrustful. Should have gone to a veterinarian or a student clinic. Cannot in my right mind encourage anyone to go.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in New Jersey is the process of addressing the complex issues involved with addiction. Challenges are identified and addressed through individual and group counseling. Participants learn how to manage these issues without the use of substances.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Honestly I m amazed this place is still open! I went three years ago and got a bill in the mail which reminded me to write this review. They lied from the time the admissions guy talked to me, promised a pool and a fitness center along with meeting with a dietitian while I was there. They promised it wouldn t be like the movie one flew over the coo coos nest . They will tell you ANYTHING to get you on a plane to fly to New Jersey to get you there and collect your insurance. They promise no surprises, no big bills after your visit. Was it a safe facility? Absolutely not, there was fist fights, people sneaking in drugs and booze from the outside and the BHTs were totally fine with it too.Let s talk about the state of the art facility the rep promised.. this place is nothing more than an old hospital that they slapped some interior paint and cheap furniture into. When you enter you go into a room and they run the normal checks, then you get sent to the detox ward on the top floor. The medications given were questionable, coming out of blister packs and given by staff that made you wonder if they even could be licensed to do so.Now let s talk about management. I had some interesting interactions with them, everything from being pissed that the facility was absolutely nothing like what the rep stated it would be, to the fact you re not even allowed to make a phone call without a behavioral health tech in the room. I was ready to leave by the third day because I felt I was being mistreated. And when I told them I wanted to leave I was met with you re scared of sobriety or the one that still sits with me is the classic if you leave, we will bill you for everything and not your insurance, you won t get a plane ticket back either. Then one of the managers was leading a class and told the class how I m a prime example of someone who won t recover and who is scared of their process .This place should be sued for a multitude of reasons. On a different note, I m two years sober after going to a REAL and TRUE treatment facility.DO NOT ALLOW YOUR FAMILY MEMBER OR YOURSELF TO GO TO THIS PLACE.

This place has given me more anxiety, issues and frustrations than I went into their care with. The staff that helps the patients on a day to day basis are great. However, people placed in charge of paperwork for leaves of absence and benefits and making sure bills are handled correctly are very frustrating to deal with.

I m genuinely shocked by all of the good reviews I m seeing. Perhaps things have changed since I went here. I ve been to multiple treatment facilities, and I will always remember this as the absolute worst place. I ve been taking a medication called Suboxone for 4 years prior to my stay at Endeavor. Everyone has a choice whether they want to stay on it or not, but at Endeavor, they forced me off it. The doctors reasoning? I wouldn t prescribe it to my daughter, which is an exact quote. Let me add, this is entirely unacceptable and every other treatment center ive been to has helped me realize how poorly I really was treated by the Endeavor staff. I thought it was normal, but after voicing this to multiple different therapists, psychiatrists, etc, I ve come to the conclusion that this was unfair, and ultimately led to my relapse. If I were treated with proper care, my recovery journey would ve begun much sooner. Because of being denied a necessary medication, i was unbearably sick for my entire stay and I was denied bed rest. I was forced to get up at 6am and go to every single group (from 6am all the way to 8pm), despite the fact that I was basically on the brink of death from malnutrition and incredibly ill from being forced off of my medications. The nursing staff was incredibly unprofessional, constantly picking fights and belittling myself and other patients. If you re struggling with an opiate addiction, you will be treated with no respect from the staff or any of the other patients. In my experience, I was the only recovering opiate addict amongst recovering alcoholics. The staff seemed to be incredibly uneducated when it comes to ANYTHING besides alcoholism. No knowledge on medications and how they affect you when cut off cold turkey. As desperate as i was to get clean, I truly couldn t take it anymore. No other facility has treated me anywhere NEAR this poorly, and I can proudly say I went to Avenues Recovery and am now almost 2 years clean! The quality of your treatment is CRUCIAL when it comes to your long term sobriety success. I strongly urge you to consider searching for a different place to send yourself or your loved ones to.

Came there in October 2021 second time going to rehab and I can say that place changed my life. I am now 3 years sober coming this month I have a son a wife and a great job at Boeing. I went to the second half in long branch but I detoxed here. Great place, great views, I m pretty sure it s all you can eat while your detoxing which was great I put on some pounds lol. I hope this review encourages someone who is struggling to take that step it s not so bad and the stress free life is amazing. Remember one day at a time.

Endeavor House North saved my life. I was in a very dark place when I came through the doors and did not think I was going to make it. Numerous staff saved my life from the nurses to the doctors especially my case worker and therapist who never gave up on me. From every speaker, BHTs, to each class lesson, I will never forget what they taught me! It gave me the tools to start living my life healthy & clean! They gave me my life, my family & my sobriety. For that I am deeply grateful! The inpatient and outpatient support has been remarkable. I thought the day I completed my 30 day inpatient stay, that it was it. But they have followed up, reached out! They care about my recovery journey. I can t say enough about how grateful I am. This is not an easy process, it s the hardest thing I ve ever done in my life!! Without EHNs help I couldn t have done it!
