About Endeavor House North

Endeavor House is a private drug and alcohol addiction treatment center in Kearny, New Jersey. They specialize in giving adult clients personalized treatment through evidence backed methods delivered in a relaxed and warm atmosphere. They are a luxury facility with state of the art amenities. Endeavor House offers a full spectrum of care for clients in any stage of addiction and offers their services to clients regardless of their past treatment history. They also provide dual diagnosis treatment.

Clients who enter the medical detox program at Endeavor House reside at the facility as they undergo the detox process. Medical staff monitor them around the clock and provide care as needed through therapeutic, educational, and medical services, including medication to help curb withdrawal symptoms.

Residential treatment requires clients to live at the facility during their treatment. This allows staff to closely watch and attend to their needs and lowers the risk of relapse by keeping clients in a restrictive, highly structured environment. The length of a stay is based on need, and Endeavor House encourages clients to take the time they need to embrace recovery.

Clients work alongside a personal care team to assess their needs and develop a course of treatment to address them. Recovery is based on therapy (in individual and group settings) and education groups. A client’s daily schedule is filled with recovery activities to help them better understand addiction, learn valuable coping skills, and embrace clean living.

Withdrawal symptoms can be a significant hurdle to a client engaging with treatment. MAT allows the medical team to give clients medication that curbs these difficult and distracting symptoms so they can focus their efforts on healing. MAT is given following an assessment and is closely monitored during ongoing use.

A co-occurring disorder is any mental health diagnosis alongside an addiction diagnosis. Co-occurring disorders can worsen the symptoms of both problems and raise the risk of relapse. By treating the underlying causes and symptoms, co-occurring disorder treatment can significantly reduce the risk of relapse.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in New Jersey is the process of addressing the complex issues involved with addiction. Challenges are identified and addressed through individual and group counseling. Participants learn how to manage these issues without the use of substances.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

The facilitators that run group are amazing as well as most of the BHT that work there. I enjoyed my time at endeavor house. The only negative id have to say is the lack of communication between the employees and they are definitely understaffed.

I was in a very dark place when I came here mentally and physically. I was using fentanyl for a long time and was scared of going through withdrawals. Everyone from the doctors to my therapist took good care of me and helped me address my PTSD and depression that I bottled up for so long. This place is fantastic and I recommend it to anybody who s looking for hope

I am only leaving one star because I did receive good information from the groups I attended. Mental health wise, I am worse than when I was admitted. They lie to you about the state of the facility and what they offer. My therapist Cynthia was extremely rude, would not let me get a word in and called myself and my husband liars for being told we would be able to check in with each other daily. My husband called every single day because he was worried about me and not a single person relayed those messages to me. He was at home worried sick about me. While personally I was put in a room with mold issues and fingernail clippings on my bed. My therapist wouldn t let me get a word in, rolled her eyes and told me I was rude when I voiced my concerns. Cockroaches are on the lower level and they have traps for them on the upper floors. If and that s a big IF you get a phone call to your family, it has to be on speaker and if you say anything negative about the facility your call will be terminated. When you ask the staff for help (hayley is excluded, she was an angel) they act as if you re a nuisance. Myself and and all of my peers are desperate to make phone calls, meanwhile the staff is facetiming their families in front of us and it s extremely triggering. They tell us to be honest with ourselves and others meanwhile they lie to us from day one. When I finally decided I needed to leave the facility because the living conditions were so poor and my mental health was deteriorating from lack of connection with my family my therapist called my husband a liar over the phone, and hung up on him. Nurses were falling asleep at the nurses station. If you or a loved one needs help, DO NOT go to endeavor house north. I am experiencing PTSD from this place.

Despite staff transitions great care and compassion. Most techs are recovering. Great nurses. Clean environment. Some disorganization and lack of resources but good food. Help with flights and finances. Beach house PHP. New operation manager with vision and empathy. Very intense programming. Worked very well for me. Alcohol and addiction help. Can leave if you want but for us that stayed we were like family. Addicts helping each other. Outside events like axe throwing and bowling. Escape rooms. Bingo. AA, na, ca every night. Very support. Outside meetings.
