When you’re admitted, you’ll have inpatient or outpatient services, depending on your needs. You’ll be assigned a case management team that consists of nurses, therapists and social workers so your symptoms and underlying causes can be addressed. outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) offer high-level transitional support for clients exiting inpatient rehab. They can also be effective for clients at significant relapse risk Intensive outpatient treatment typically involves between nine and 20 hours of care per week, with the frequency and intensity of treatment decreasing as clients progress in their recovery. Most IOP clients participate in a combination of psychotherapy, recovery education, holistic therapies, and, for some, medication assisted treatment (MAT).

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

If you need short-term intensive rehabilitation care that allows you to return home at the end of the day, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is the ideal solution. PHP provides structured programming that typically includes therapeutic services, relapse prevention, and medication management. Typically, treatment can run between 3-5 days a week for an average of 90 days. The cost for a partial hospitalization program can vary, but is often covered by providers.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

This place is horrible; they don't know what compassion or kindness means. There is absolutely no communication between patient and doctor. AVOID coming here.

I came here to leave a review, but based on all the very generic copy and paste responses from the relations representatives I don t think there is much point. But I m going to share it for others in the community and hope that it helps then with their own treatment and healing journey s- and hope that whoever copy and pastes a response from this organization will take note of my suggestions. My experience included all of the things that these other low star ratings posts have shared. The Elliot hospital needs to require mandatory sensitivity training for its staff. Relations needs to be out on the floor actively ensuring that the staff is communicating with another in APPROPRIATE ways. Gossiping about their patients and their 10k+ vacations abroad is not focusing on the very important task of patient care. It is done within earshot of patients with no regard. Inappropriate work station chatter, and tone deaf physicians appear to be a very common occurrence here.As far as the long wait goes- there are so many cost effective options that this institution could implement right away to ensure that patients aren t being overlooked. For starters, scheduling a floating Nurse practitioner or PA to work out of triage as their base and continue to circulate the waiting room to monitor (and most importantly reassure) patients that they are not being forgotten about.Patients need to feel seen, heard, and valued. Adding to the schedule an additional floater could help add a smaller sense of reassurance to anxious patients who have been left alone in pain for hours at a time. A method such as this would also decrease the changes of liability in the future. If patients are rapidly declining in the waiting area there needs to be SOMEONE who is paying attention. Because currently the waiting room is a no man s land. A lawsuit will inevitably occur someday if changes aren t made.I am so grateful that I recently had to come here for ONLY one thing. This organization severely neglected my healthcare for 5 years before I left and went to Dartmouth-Hitchcock. To anyone reading this- jump ship, give up on this brand until they start showing that they truly care and make changes that are best for the patients as opposed to their profit margins. If their profits are directly affected, maybe they will actually start making real changes for the better. At Dartmouth-Hitchcock, I am seen, heard, valued, and most importantly BELIEVED. Their offices run like well oiled machines and I have NEVER been ignored, or observed any staff behaving inappropriately while their patients are sitting and suffering. Elliot needs to take some serious notes from their playbooks. I think the first step would start with sensitivity training. The common theme I have personally experienced at multiple locations of this organization is medical gaslighting. Since switching to Dartmouth-Hitchcock I have been diagnosed with FIVE very real physiological conditions that multiple Elliot physicians told me was anxiety and to go to therapy. Luckily by doing so they gave me a gift. I did go to therapy where I learned how to advocate for myself and switch to a healthcare institution that truly cares and believes their patients.Lastly, I have also seen multiple (different types) of doctors here over the years that have been completely tone deaf, ableist, and egotistical. Those three traits do not belong in healthcare. Do better Elliot. Your community deserves it.

Horrible! On going battle. They charged me over $5000 and because I questioned a few things and left a balance of $300 they sent me to a collection agency But, when I go on my log-in to check my account it shows that I own nothing! But the collection agency with a 1.5 rating out of 5, Marcam Assoc. do not care.

ER experience: good Doctors & Nurses but very poorly managed. Checked in at 2:30 in the afternoon; not called into the back until 4:45 the next morning. Rest Rooms were filthy; never saw housekeeping. About 1 am an inebriated homeless man came in. He was called back within 1/2 hour. When I finally got seen at 4:45 am, as I went to my room this same guy was all tucked in sleeping on a cot at the nurses station. Read into that what you will. SMH

Hello Gail. Thank you for your feedback regarding the longer-than-expected wait time in the Elliot Hospital Emergency Department. We apologize for instances where demand for care exceeds capacity, which is caused by various factors such as other patients with more acute conditions who need care faster, awaiting inpatient beds, or transfers for behavioral health care. To reduce wait times, we offer Elliot VirtualER, allowing patients to consult with our own Elliot emergency physicians remotely for non-life-threatening conditions. Additionally, we operate three walk-in Urgent Care centers staffed by board-certified emergency medicine providers, offering advanced testing and appointment scheduling options. While our emergency department remains open 24/7, these locations are available for timely care. The Elliot Emergency Department is honored to serve our community every day. We are proud that patients are choosing our talented team. Your trust is vital, and we're committed to continual improvement. For further feedback or suggestions, call 603-663-2666 where you will be directed to the appropriate liaison.

I am currently a patient I have had my personal feelings exploited, a personal conversation I had was spread through staff. Today Tuesday August 14 2024 is the first day I have met any of the LNA they do not come around I have had the same sheets on my bed for 3 days the LNA here do not care all I see is them on their phones or talking with each other in all my years as an LNA I have made my patients feel welcome and here at Eliot this week it was the worst experience of my time as a patient do not trust anything personal with social service or staff they blow it out of proportion and use your words against you the best part of my stay was Dr. Haque who treated me with kindness.

We had the most wonderful experience at Elliot in labor and delivery, maternity, and NICU when we delivered our first baby on 8.7. During labor, nurses and doctors were attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. They treated you as if you and your family were the only patients in the hospital, being totally locked in and versed on your child in every conversation. Even the most mundane or niche questions, they had answers for, and if they didn t know how to answer them, they immediately sought advice from co workers, who are constantly communicating via text and call seamlessly. They drop everything they re doing to reassure you, and really listen to your concerns. It didn t matter how many questions or requests we had, or how many times we pressed the call button- they were always bubbly, kind, and more than happy to meet you where you were. It was my first time laboring and I was in a lot of pain. The team came together with a plan to effectively manage my pain and help me deliver safely without the need for a c section despite my large baby s size. They stayed with me and talked me through every step. Toward the end I was very emotional and doubting my abilities, but their encouraging words helped me push through. Due to some possible complications, NICU was in the room with us before she arrived, and were able to immediately assess her. They noticed the possibility of sepsis and took action immediately, getting the antibiotics and testing she needed. Listening to others stories about this complication, it is overwhelmingly common for hospitals to brush off symptoms and send children home, which can be fatal. Elliot analyzed her symptoms and came up with a comprehensive plan for her within minutes and she immediately began to turn a corner. They even allow parents at staff huddles. At any given time, the nurse on shift knew every detail about our daughter s progress and could answer all of our questions. They were able to use donor milk to help supplement her supply. While we waited for her to come home and we were still admitted in the maternity ward, several people came to check on us and offer support and referrals that continued at home as well, such as check ins from a home nurse and a lactation consultant in the home. I was also able to get a referral for a therapist specializing in PPD. Because of Elliot s staff, my daughter is now home with us and free of complications, sleeping soundly and perfectly healthy. If I had birthed at home or gone to a different hospital, we could have had an extremely different or even tragic outcome. The care they take is second to none. We will always be thankful to the earth angels at Elliot L&D.

We saw Dr. Punnapuzha when we visited the ED recently with my young daughter. Both the doctor and nurse, registrar and radiology tech were wonderful. The process was streamlined, and we felt valued and cared for. The medical field is extremely hard. I felt as though our experience in the ED at the Elliott was the best possible one it could be, despite having to go to an ED in the first place. I am extremely grateful for the patience and empathy of the doctor and caring nurse and staff in the ED that late night, in their handling of my daughter and her not feeling well. Unfortunately we hear of a lot of the negative stories surrounding hospitals so I wanted to share our positive experience. we left feeling very appreciative of all that was done for us, thank you guys. You rock, keep it up.
