I came here to leave a review, but based on all the very generic copy and paste responses from the relations representatives I don t think there is much point. But I m going to share it for others in the community and hope that it helps then with their own treatment and healing journey s- and hope that whoever copy and pastes a response from this organization will take note of my suggestions. My experience included all of the things that these other low star ratings posts have shared. The Elliot hospital needs to require mandatory sensitivity training for its staff. Relations needs to be out on the floor actively ensuring that the staff is communicating with another in APPROPRIATE ways. Gossiping about their patients and their 10k+ vacations abroad is not focusing on the very important task of patient care. It is done within earshot of patients with no regard. Inappropriate work station chatter, and tone deaf physicians appear to be a very common occurrence here.As far as the long wait goes- there are so many cost effective options that this institution could implement right away to ensure that patients aren t being overlooked. For starters, scheduling a floating Nurse practitioner or PA to work out of triage as their base and continue to circulate the waiting room to monitor (and most importantly reassure) patients that they are not being forgotten about.Patients need to feel seen, heard, and valued. Adding to the schedule an additional floater could help add a smaller sense of reassurance to anxious patients who have been left alone in pain for hours at a time. A method such as this would also decrease the changes of liability in the future. If patients are rapidly declining in the waiting area there needs to be SOMEONE who is paying attention. Because currently the waiting room is a no man s land. A lawsuit will inevitably occur someday if changes aren t made.I am so grateful that I recently had to come here for ONLY one thing. This organization severely neglected my healthcare for 5 years before I left and went to Dartmouth-Hitchcock. To anyone reading this- jump ship, give up on this brand until they start showing that they truly care and make changes that are best for the patients as opposed to their profit margins. If their profits are directly affected, maybe they will actually start making real changes for the better. At Dartmouth-Hitchcock, I am seen, heard, valued, and most importantly BELIEVED. Their offices run like well oiled machines and I have NEVER been ignored, or observed any staff behaving inappropriately while their patients are sitting and suffering. Elliot needs to take some serious notes from their playbooks. I think the first step would start with sensitivity training. The common theme I have personally experienced at multiple locations of this organization is medical gaslighting. Since switching to Dartmouth-Hitchcock I have been diagnosed with FIVE very real physiological conditions that multiple Elliot physicians told me was anxiety and to go to therapy. Luckily by doing so they gave me a gift. I did go to therapy where I learned how to advocate for myself and switch to a healthcare institution that truly cares and believes their patients.Lastly, I have also seen multiple (different types) of doctors here over the years that have been completely tone deaf, ableist, and egotistical. Those three traits do not belong in healthcare. Do better Elliot. Your community deserves it.

Horrible! On going battle. They charged me over $5000 and because I questioned a few things and left a balance of $300 they sent me to a collection agency But, when I go on my log-in to check my account it shows that I own nothing! But the collection agency with a 1.5 rating out of 5, Marcam Assoc. do not care.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) offer high-level transitional support for clients exiting inpatient rehab. They can also be effective for clients at significant relapse risk Intensive outpatient treatment typically involves between nine and 20 hours of care per week, with the frequency and intensity of treatment decreasing as clients progress in their recovery. Most IOP clients participate in a combination of psychotherapy, recovery education, holistic therapies, and, for some, medication assisted treatment (MAT).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
If you need short-term intensive rehabilitation care that allows you to return home at the end of the day, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is the ideal solution. PHP provides structured programming that typically includes therapeutic services, relapse prevention, and medication management. Typically, treatment can run between 3-5 days a week for an average of 90 days. The cost for a partial hospitalization program can vary, but is often covered by providers.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Went to the ER on a Friday night and they were swamped. Staff however was very kind and informative. Everyone took my condition seriously considering all my labs came back generally fine. The ER doc was very driven to find a cause of my issue. Also if someone can find the phlebotomist of 4 months that took my blood, I hope my jokes didn't cause issues. I made a third times the charm joke which maybe didn't land? They were good at their job as well as being very kind and friendly.

Hello Tim. Thank you for your feedback - we appreciate your input as it helps us to continually provide better care. You may call 603-663-2666 to be directed to the appropriate liaison/department for follow-up. We apologize for times when our emergency department's demand for care exceeds capacity. Many factors contribute to emergency department waits, including admitted patients awaiting beds for further care, other patients with more severe conditions that need care faster, available post-discharge beds, and behavioral health patients awaiting transfer. We don t want you to wait for the care you need. Our Elliot VirtualER helps patients with non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries to start care with our own Elliot emergency physicians without leaving home. Whether a suspected urinary tract infection, the flu or something more serious, like a fracture, minor burn, or skin infection, an Elliot ER doctor can assess needs virtually using computer technology from the Elliot Emergency Department. If no in-person care is needed, care can be completed during the virtual visit, and the cost is the same as an office visit instead of an ER charge. If the concern requires in-person care, you will be seamlessly transferred to Elliot Urgent Care or The Elliot s Emergency Department, with no charge for the virtual visit. Learn more about this service by visiting our website at www.ElliotHospital.org/VirtualER. Three walk-in Urgent Care centers in Manchester, Londonderry, and Bedford are available. These centers are staffed by the same emergency providers that care for patients in our Emergency Department and are available for non-emergency care needs 7 days a week. Our Urgent Care centers have advanced testing options and offer the ability to reserve an appointment time on our website.

A little slow moving but that's the standard for health care these days. The staff went above and beyond though in taking care of me after I had a mental health episode. They were very courteous, friendly, proactive, and patient with me. Truly a great team to work with in the ER and PEP departments. They'll take good care of you.

Thank you for trusting us with your care!

I brought my grand daughter to the ER for a fever on Tuesday and my experience made me forget that I was at a hospital. The minute I was greeted at registration I felt the warmth.Dr. Andrew Small was very detailed and caring and Nurse Alexander went the extra mile to ensure my granddaughter was comfortable, she even brought her a gift. The entire team that attended to us showed love and care. It s nice to know places like this exist in these times.

Both times I was seen in the Emergency Department every doctor, tech and nurse was very kind, quick and informative. My nurse Michelle was really great. Very knowledgeable and did everything she could to make me comfortable while being one of the only nurses on the floor. Haven t had a negative experience here yet, I always get the care I need.

I am absolutely disgusted with the following doctor: Dr. Kiriana M. I was in the hospital back the week of September 11 with bacterial pneumonia and she was my doctor. She had no bedside manners, she doesn t listen to the patients, and even insinuated she knew my body better than I did. Yes, when I have pneumonia and asthma my oxygen levels drop. That doesn t mean I have sleep apnea. It means my lungs are tired. But she forced oxygen on me and a sleep study after I told her no 6+ times. I finally reported it to the charge nurse THEN I WAS MOVED TO ANOTHER FLOOR. In the mean time she refused to listen to me and I had ama discharge papers ready to go. I had to do the sleep study which is unacceptable because I said no and no one listened to me. Not even the new doctor. And I was discharged with oxygen. I don t need this crap and I m not allowed to be discharged because according to them I still need it at night but all the tanks are empty and outside. This is ridiculous. All because a doctor didn t listen to me and now my pcp and that office isn t listening to me and home medical equipment isn t listening. DO NOT go here and above all, do not accept the doctor mentioned above. If you do go here and definitely have her, you ll lose all rights to your body. It s 2024 and I m not allowed control over my body because of the Elliot hospital. However, on the flip side; the nurses were all amazing. Same with the CNA, LNA, and whoever else helps with the day to day floor stuff. They re all top notch.

My wife and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter on October 4th at The Elliott. Our experience from start to finish was exceptional. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and guided through the process. In the Labor & Delivery ward, we were fortunate to be cared for by an outstanding team of nurses Amanda, Michelle, and Megan whose support was invaluable. In the maternity ward, we would like to especially recognize Heather, Ali, Caitlyn, Lexi, and Riley for their exceptional care. Every member of the staff, including the doctors, demonstrated professionalism and expertise, making the entire experience seamless. I wholeheartedly recommend The Elliott for anyone considering where to welcome their child.

I would have given five stars however my son who was extremely nervous to begin with had to start with a very rude and cold nurse named Vicki in triage . She looked beyond miserable to have to help us and be doing her job. The minute she put us in the pediatric ED everyone else was so pleasant and made my son feel very comfortable. Thank you to the staff who turned our visit around .

My husband fell and fractured his femur. He was taken by ambulance to Elliot. From the minute he went through the doors he received excellent care. The doctors and staff were professional and compassionate. The Total Joint Department is where he spent four nights. Everyone was wonderful, in particular Stacy who was George's primary nurse always arrived with an encouraging smile and efficiently provided compassionate care. We can't say enough about Elliot hospital. The food was outstanding, the facility was clean. The staff was positive, helpful and warmly professional.

They discharged me right after having a seizure in front of staff. I told them I didn't feel comfortable being discharged until I was actually stable and evaluated. They discharged me anyway. I called my PCP (after hours) and told the on-call everything. They told me to go back to the hospital.. where they refused to treat me. I even overheard an employee say "she's faking it. She's being a great actress." ... even though I have an official diagnosis of these said seizures
