Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

12-step icon12-Step

Edgehill‘s program is based on the philosophy of a 12-step program such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. However, they are not a AA or NA group. They place the responsibility for recovery with the residents rather than with their staff. The experience is structured through hope, sharing, trust, self-examination, honesty, decision-making, and perhaps the most important a commitment to a clean and sober way of life.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

A sober living home in Vermont offers a balance between monitored structure and living in mainstream society. No alcohol or drugs are allowed on the premises, and residents must participate in 12-step meetings. Residents of the halfway house also agree to submit to random drug screenings, pay rent, and participate in household activities such as meetings, meals, and chores.

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

When you enroll in drug rehab in Virginia, a treatment plan is designed by professional staff in order to help you overcome drug addiction and modify addictive behaviors. This may include evidence-based treatments, group and individual therapy, and relapse prevention.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

If you and your partner are facing challenges, couples therapy in Virginia is designed to help you work through those in a healthy way. Common challenges that couples therapy addresses include conflict resolution, financial disagreements, intimacy challenges, health issues, and substance abuse.

family iconFamily Therapy

Edgehill‘s staff is well aware that alcoholism and drug addictions devastate families. They invite families for scheduled visits with residents and gladly consult with them. They make families aware of education and self-help groups designed for them, as well as make referrals for other types of assistance.

life-skills iconLife Skills

These first days, clean and sober, are critical. Their day needs structure. Thus Edgehill residents follow a schedule. Residents are responsible for such personal chores as cleaning their rooms and doing their laundry. These responsibilities point the way out of the quagmire of living in addictions throes and toward a more stable recovery way of life.

I will admit this, it is pricey. Even so, they worked with me every step of the way, believe me when I tell you the staff cares about you.

Daily noon meeting for 12 step program. Great place to build a network and if you need a 30 day refresher of the mind body and soul, you can become a resident.

Edge Hill is a wonderful Recovery Center! Because it is run by former addicts themselves, it sets them apart from other competitors who employ individuals who just learn about addiction and teach those theories. They know first hand what addiction is and how difficult it is to overcome. They teach you about the facts of addiction, the challenges associated and offer you the solution. They give you the tools in order to live a happy and sober life! The staff and Group leaders alike educate participants, as well as share their stories and experiences to provide hope to the still suffering addict. I highly recommend Edgehill for anyone struggling with addiction who needs help getting on the right path!

Edgehill literally saved my life. The staff here is all caring and compassionate and they've never once, not had my back or been there to help me when I needed it.

Edgehill saved my life. The staff here care. They teach boundaries, accountability, and will show up for you. Debbie will do anything she can for you IF you are putting in the work for your recovery. Getting clean is what you make of it. If you do the work, you ll see results and the staff will help you every step of the way. If you fall and reach out for help, they will be there to pick you up. I ll have a decade clean this year and I could never ever ever have done it without the support of the community here. This treatment center is a 12 step model, which has worked for me. They set you up for success with an outpatient program as well as referrals to sober living. We did chores, which helps in taking positive actions, accountability, and gaining self esteem. The groups every day are helpful, educational, and varied so as not to be boring. The AA and NA community hold meetings in their larger meeting room daily so you can t help but get plugged in to the community. And if you are just having a bad day and no longer at the center you can pop in and there is always someone to talk to. The staff are still apart of my life today, this place is the best thing that ever happened to me.

The number of people I know that have gone to Edge Hill and completed the 28 day program ...(I might add )....is well in the 50s ...(there's probably more) .....that's just a rough estimate... A friend of mine has actually gone to this program a few times ( you think he likes it ? ) so he knows everybody pretty well ..Joe one of edge hills counselors was trying to get me in there at one point but things didn't really work out... it wasn't anybody's fault it just wasn't my time...all of the staff there must like there job because it's been the same crew of people for a long time.. the whole reason I was at Edgehill is because a very good friend of mine ,(another friend lol) was entering the program And Joe was the first person that we came in contact with he was doing her intake and basically just getting her in the door he let me stay with her while she finished doing her paperwork ...she was very nervous and I guess maybe he sensed that idk regardless me being able to stay there helped..so the way he handled the whole situation was perfect she was more calm and relaxed by the time I left there.
