About ARC Arizona Rehab Campus Tucson

The ARC Arizona Rehab Campus is a drug and alcohol rehab located in Tucson, Arizona. This facility specializes in providing services to men and women who are struggling with dual diagnosis and substance abuse disorders. There are inpatient (IP) and various outpatient (OP) options. They offer a multitude of services including medication assisted treatment (MAT), life skill workshop, relapse prevention, 12 Step support groups, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), group and individual therapy.

They accept Medicaid and TRICARE, along with other insurance plans.

When you are starting your journey of recovery it’s understandable to feel nervous, emotional, and uncertain about what to do. During the duration of your stay here, their atmosphere creates both a clinical but also cozy and comfortable environment.

MAT is available here and can be beneficial for you especially in early stages from chemical dependency. The medications help with cravings, withdrawals, and improve social and brain function. Their team of professionals will discuss medication management and will help hold you accountable by doing check-ins. Tracking your treatment progress, frequent drug screens, and providing extra support.

What sticks out to me is all the amenities they have here like a spa, swimming pool, designated smoking area, fitness center, music room, game rooms, and nutritious gourmet meals. With all their amenities, having a spa gives you time to take care of your physical and spiritual well-being with massages to help with pain management, hypertension, improve your focus, and helps reduce stress.

Their music room has drums, guitars, microphones, and keyboards available for you to play. Music is very therapeutic and helps improve cognitive development, strengthens emotional development, and helps with regaining your memory back.

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

bed-front iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

hospital iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

clipboard-medical iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

house-medical iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

truck-medical icon24-Hour Clinical Care

The initial phase of recovery treatment typically includes 24-hour clinical care in Arizona. This constant supervision ensures a safe detox process, which helps the individual physically stabilize from substance use. Patients will receive medications to curb withdrawal symptoms and cravings, as well as other necessary medical treatment. This period typically lasts up to a week, then the individual will receive medical clearance to begin inpatient or outpatient rehab.

Heart icon Treatment

book iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

prescription iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

head-side-medical iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

file-medical iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

prescription-bottle-pill iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

Animal Therapy

Animal therapy (aka pet therapy or animal-assisted therapy) can be very healing, as it allows patients to bond with animals, who give unconditional love. This is particularly useful for those who suffered trauma by the hands of people, who may be able to trust and form closer attachments to animals than humans at certain stages of rehabilitation.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Creative Arts Therapy

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Family Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Recreational Therapy

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

My daughter entered into this facility8/24/2024 Didn't hear from Her the rest of the evening next morning.I get a call from a Wireless phone It's my daughter She had been put out and off the property with none of her belongings. No phone, no money. And we live in surprise Arizona, they provided transportation. From Canyon vista recovery center in Mesa arizona, where she completed her detox. I have no idea what happened, but that's no way to treat.Somebody who wasn't in the right frame of mind to begin with and now leaving us to figure out how to get to her.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS HELL HOLE! My husband was willingly going in for medical detox from alcohol and was planning on staying for the residential program. We were promised doctors and nurses on-site, individual rooms with a TV, and the ability to bring in our own (new and sealed) toiletries because my husband has sensitive skin.During initial intake (which I was not allowed to be a part of) they told him he blew a .3 which seemed impossible knowing he hadn't had a drop to drink in at least 6 hours. (I have been monitoring his BAC since he got home and this isn't possible so they either lied? Or their equipment wasn't working) This sent us both into a panic and I was very worried leaving him there but was assured that he would see a doctor and nurses would check on him hourly.Only after getting home did I think it was odd that they hadnt talked to me or given me any paperwork. He's been to detox before at different facilities and I've always been in the room and made to sign multiple documents (seeing as most ppl who go in are not in their right heads it seems wise). He never saw a doctor at all, the "nurses" on staff didn't seem to know what they were talking about and only checked on him once every 4+ hours. During one of these 4+ hours of being left alone (with three other men all crammed in a roach infested room with a broken TV) my husband had a seizure due to alcohol withdrawal. He was sent in with a script for a medicine to PREVENT SEIZURES and they refused to give it to him, as well as I still can not get a straight answer from them as to what pills they put him on.I woke up at 5:00 to a call from my husband frantic, he quickly told me about the issues with the facility and told me he was having hallucinations and wanted to leave. During this call he was on speaker phone and staff members gathered around and snickered at him for tearing up. I asked the "nurse" if they had medicine to help make him comfortable, and was told he was only on Lorazepam. THIS IS NOT MEDICALLY SAFE FOR SOMEONE DETOXING FROM ALCOHOL.I picked my husband up after he was there for less than 48 hours and he told me more horror stories. His blood was never taken on intake, something a doctor would need to, you know, correctly provide medication. Staff was rude, gossipy, and extremely unhelpful. We were never given a list of medications they gave him even though we requested multiple times. We were not giving any paperwork at all, at any point in the process! My husband said he had been trying to call me for over an hour and the calls never went through. The staff lied to him, seemingly only to screw with him, and told him I was "on the way" and "just around the corner" despite me never saying that. I was also given the runaround by staff and called over 25 times without anyone answering, and the voicemail box was full. And what seems like a smaller thing in the grand scheme but still bugs me, they took all his clothes and put him in a weird jumpsuit. They refused to let him use any of the toiletries I provided (none of them contained any alcohol) and now my husband's entire body is covered in a rash because he has eczema (which we told them about and they said he could bring special stuff as long as it was unopened). They also refused to give him the books we packed.I will be contacting a lawyer and plan to tell everyone I know, on every platform I can access, how truly awful this place is!I realize that the patrons of rehab facilities are usually overlooked by society but they are just human beings who need a little help and deserve being treated with respect.

The ARC of Tucson literally saved my life. I was either going to die or go to rehab. I sat down with enough whiskey for just that. I told a friend , if I was alive later I would go.Only detox, then I did 30...Then I figured maybe 120 couldn't hurt. The employees there are family now and I feel ready for a new life. They are real people that taught me about real life.I will always have that gift that only they could give at the time I needed help the most

The ARC is saving my life, if it weren't for the ARC I would most definitely be dead. My first day they were so welcoming, the staff were so helpful. I've been here a month and I now see a light at the end of the tunnel. I've tried to commit suicide 3x and the ARC is truly saving my life. I've found I have a purpose, and that's helping the next addict, and lead them to the place that is saving lives. Please if you need help to stop your addiction please come to the ARC.

The ARC is an amazing place. I am a current client and am so grateful for the opportunity to be here. The staff is amazing, compassionate, and helpful. Many of them are in recovery themselves, so they have life experience to back up their training. They have "been there" as well and so can understand the plight of the addict in a different way. They can understand where we have been.

The arc has been exceptionally good to me, I've been to many rehabs and so far the arc has had amazing curriculum, I've gained so much insight from my 1on1 therapist sessions. Most of the staff there are recovering addicts so it's so amazing to have relatable people helping there fellow peers. Thanks to the arc it's been an amazing journey and I look forward to more time here.
