Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Clients enrolled in outpatient rehab typically need less intensive supervision and support than those in inpatient care. Clients may continue to work and attend school while participating in addiction counseling and recovery education during the evening, night, or weekend. Clients also often enter intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment immediately upon exiting residential care, which provides them with high-level step-down support as they reintegrate into their homes and communities.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

So what happened was, I brought my mom in because she was having problems with her gallbladder. I understand waiting time can be long. Once we were called, a nurse called 4 last names, ours being one, and just told us to go to room 1, 2, 3, and 4. Ours was room 1. I was also pushing the wheelchair which I think the nurse is usually supposed to do, and I was having trouble because it was such a tight space, which I understand. As soon as my mom got out of the wheelchair in this tiny tiny room, she tripped over the pedal, which again, not saying it's the nurses fault, but she was right behind me. And my mother fell and cracked a rib and was screaming in pain, and the nurse was like you need to get on the bed, which also I understand, but my mom needed a minute because she couldn't move, and the nurse just grabbed her, and was very rude and aggressive. We later found out my mom actually had cancer, and once the doctors found that out they moved us to a better room, which I think is very unfair to other patients, and my mom because they didn't seem like they cared at all, then once they found out it was cancer, they were acting more serious and being more kind, which you should always be kind working as a nurse or a doctor. It was a terrible experience, and I just did not feel like we were in a safe place at that moment.

Call center does not answer...Doctors hang up on you when you address them with a complaint....takes multiple calls from pharmacist as well as my self to get meds approved.... And today the suggestion was " well you can look for another primary care " becasue we are busy.Only bright side for my experience would be Dr. Malik and his nursing staff...The rest is worse then a fast food restaurant.Take that suggestion from their own staff and look elsewhere and avoid your frustrations while you are ill...thats bad enough as it is.

Several months ago, I delivered my gorgeous, healthy son at this location. The building was immaculate, the food was nourishing, and the attending nurses are angels who brought gifts, patiently advised, and checked on me, even off the clock. I did, however, take issue with Dr. Hanna s lack of sensitivity and professionalism, silencing me in arguably the most vulnerable moment of my lifetime. Overall, I felt secure in my visit and want to thank the majority of the staff who truly care and connect with the patients and visitors.

I went here(ER) because I was having an allergic reaction to an infusion, that was administered at thus hospital in a different department and had to wait almost 2 hours to get the back where the rooms were disgusting! It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. Wait let me start from the beginning- ALLERGIC REACTION: could hardly breathe, couldn't stand up straight, light headed, shortness of breath. The triage nurse was very nonchalant, then they were calling people to the back that came in after me. So then came the horror THE ROOMS, THE NURSE, THE ER DOCTOR everyone was pretty much the same as if what was going on with me was nothing! When they finally gave me some meds for an allergic reaction through the IV and said you're gonna go to another room that's more comfortable than this one since of course I told her about how much I was horrified by the room I was in! She walked me to what was supposed to be a more comfortable room, which turned out to be even worse! Urinals, throw up bags, trash cans filled to the top people piled on top of each other! It was actually another waiting room that was in the back I guess where they were sitting patients so they can put other people in those disgusting rooms. I told her I'm not sitting in here ma'am she asked me well where would you like to sit? Really?? I replied: not in here so you can take this IV out of my arm and I'm leaving. All she did was take it out dripped a little of my blood on the chair wiped it off with her hand( glove on) no sanitizing wipe or anything and let me leave. So unprofessional! I would never go back there again EVER!!!!!!

The ABSOLUTE WORST hospital I have ever been in! I did my research on the doctor's that would be performing the procedure and all came back as 5 stars. These doctor's, I can't say enough good about. What I didn't know is that once the surgery was a success and completed, my care would be transferred to a 2.6 star rated doctor. As I refuse to recognize him as a medical professional, I will refer to him as Brian Peterson. Brian Peterson is a bean counter for this 2.6 rated hospital (generous) that doesn't care about the patients. His only care is to pad the numbers and get you out of his hospital asap. Enept and has an excuse for everything. I pray that he is sued into retirement. Run, run, run!

They might be the worst hospital in Louisiana, period! My 87 year old mother who had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 3 days before ending up in this nightmare of a hospital. Ended up in their emergency room two days after diagnosis because of spitting up blood, ran tests and found out she had a blockage and possibly needed a stent put in to deal with the blockage. Had a biopsy scheduled the day after, so of course did biopsy as well while dealing with blockage. The communication there is pathetic to say the least. Their unprofessional care or concern for the patient is mind blowing. We had a nurse tell us/ and 87 year old mom last night that we were lucky they gave her the procedure because they fit us in and that they were discharging her... well thank god they didn't, she was up all night with diareah and pain had to have a family member drive to the hospital at 1:30am to bring depends( adult diaper). Took 5 hours to get her some immodium to help out. I would not go to this place if it were free.

If only they had negative stars. The people answering the phones are EXTREMELY rude. You'll wait for a person to answer just to send you to another machine without hearing what you even called for. Why are you even there !! They could care less about there patient's. Very sad and very disappointing. - Negative 5 star.
