About Dynamic Living Counseling

Dynamic Living Counseling in Tempe, Arizona is an outpatient behavioral health care agency licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS). Support is available to clients of all ages. They accept both AHCCCS and commercial insurance plans.

Specialized DUI services are a part of the center’s offerings including DUI screenings, evaluations and education programs. They’re state-licensed to provide DUI screenings for courts. They can also provide evaluations for drivers whose licenses may have been revoked due to a DUI. These evaluations are often one of the few requirements individuals must fulfill to get their license reinstated.

The center’s education programs include a Level 2 Substance Abuse Education program, and a
Level 2 Drug Education program. Both take place over eight to 16 hours with the former satisfying Arizona Level 2 DUI requirements.

Participants can potentially reduce the time for which their vehicle has an interlock device installed. The latter program is more general and may be suitable for any individual who has been arrested for drug-related charges, including for a DUI. Both programs cover similar topics like Arizona’s drug laws, the difference between addiction, drug abuse, and misuse, as well as the effects of drugs on family, health, legal, and social institutions.

Clients can also access intensive outpatient (IOP) and standard outpatient addiction treatment programs here. IOP involves 56 to more than 100 hours of treatment and is designed for individuals with multiple DUIs or drug-related offenses. Participants meet twice a week for group counseling, and includes the aforementioned 16-hour education program contents, too.

Standard outpatient is similarly geared toward individuals with drug offenses but takes place over 36 to 56 hours. Participants can expect 10 to 20 weekly group counseling sessions. This also includes an intake session to develop clients’ personal treatment plans and assess their needs. The 16-hour addiction education program is also included as part of this.

Separate relapse prevention services are also available here, taking place over a minimum of 10 sessions.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Arizona focuses on acceptance of your reality and behaviors while also attempting to make changes in unhealthy behaviors. It has been shown to be effective for the treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use disorder.

Highly unprofessional. They cancelled my class via text message with less than 24 hours notice because there weren't enough sign ups. There's a lot of moving parts in my schedule and I don't appreciate having my time wasted.

I recently attended 16 hours of DUI II counseling and was very impressed with the service. I wanted to write this review for people like me who have never been through alcohol / drug counseling. The classes are small, usually around 25 people and an instructor. You sit in chairs which are setup around the room with the center of the room open and the instructor sit's in front of you with a white board and tv set. Over the course of each 8 hour day the instructor goes through the program and you introduce yourself and why you are there. Keep in mind all information in each group is considered confidential. During the 8 hour day (830- 430) you will get a mid morning break, (15 mins), Lunch break at 12 noon ( 1 hour ) and mid afternoon break, (15 mins). There is a Mexican restaurant next door. My experience was great, the instructor was patient, allowed the group to discuss openly all ideas and thoughts and made it comfortable for everyone. I was never bored during my 16 hours and learned a lot of useful information that will help me throughout my life. Great experience and i'm grateful I chose Dynamic Living.
