About Woonsocket Comprehensive Treatment Center

Discovery House is in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. They’re part of the Comprehensive Treatment Centers network to treat alcohol and drug abuse. Here, you’ll receive medication assisted treatment and outpatient counseling to help you reach recovery. They accept private insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid, which can defray the cost of the treatment.

The main medication you’ll receive is methadone. Licensed clinicians will administer your doses. The medications help manage your cravings, making you less likely to relapse or overdose during treatment. They can help you stay stable so you can focus on creating new habits and mindsets for a substance free life.

You’ll also have outpatient treatment to help you work through the root causes of addiction and find ways to live a fulfilled life without substances. Classes may be about emotional and anger management, coping skills, and other vital life skills. Counseling can be in groups of 5-15, in individual settings, or both. You’ll learn about addictions and build confidence as you recover with your peers. That way, you won’t go it alone, and you’ll always have a network to support you.

Staff is nice. However They constantly make you late for work you never know what you re going to run into when you get there every day it s different they need to have better policies and procedures for when the computers go down because people in recovery are very delicate and if they lose a job that could set them over the edge when they re just trying to get their methadone and do the right thing. Exceptions must be made on a very strict case by case basis for accommodations for certain people. Other than that, this is a good clinic, you are in take homes fast if you do what you re supposed to do and they don t require much out of you it s a lot better than spectrum or any other clinic around. Not that there are many to choose from spectrum and here . They need to keep a full staff daily so there s never long lines thus making people late for obligations and when in delicate recovery a loss of job can set someone over the edge in a snowball effect. Please we are BEGGING you KEN to help us more especially for the people that are doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing to a T.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

I'm also a transfer from another state,I also lost all takehomes and have to go through it all over again.I have been clean for over 20 years not one dirty, thay we're sent all my records and still will not give me but 3 a week every other day.I am so disappointed in how I have been treated .if someone would just look back on records or why even have them transferred nobody even looks so that alone is discouraging . I feel your frustration. One step at a time or 1 phase at a time.

This place will tell you one thing and do another. I transfered from a "sister clinic" with a phase 7, meaning I received up to 30 take homes at one time from Fayetteville NC. I haven't failed no test and have done great thru the program. I received my engineering degree and got a great offer here in Rhode Island. But I now will probably lose my job since I can't travel as needed due to lack of take homes. They said, the "doctor", that the take homes would be reinstated after 2 whole months but may be sooner. Now I have been here 6 weeks and they tell me that I can get u to 3 a week and only 1 at a time. Nobody else at facility can explain why the "doctor" made this ridiculous decision. I basically am having to restart the program over for moving to RI. This is beyond my understanding. Punishment without the offense. They said they weigh chance of relapse against benefit of take homes. But that is a huge lie. They don't care how your life is affected, good or bad.

The upper management at This place doesn't care about the patients or employees . Not a stand up employee thre willing to stand up for a patient that did nothing wrong and let people get railroaded and thrown out for no reason . Avoid this clinic go somewhere else.

It s pretty bad when all they have USA physician whose license has been taken away and is a pediatrician, how can she treat addiction in Rhode Island , because they use these physicians who are no longer allowed in other states Discovery house feel that because you re an addict you don t deserve a good accredited physician , in other words screw you we making our money, they don t have real social workers , no MSW OR LCISW your treatment is very limited with very unqualified personnel stay away!!!!!!!!!

Methadone clinic in Woonsocket R. I. On Diamond Hill road, is a decent clinic, understanding counselors and staff, at this time they are understaffed with nurses, so the line can get long, they are open early during the week for workers, 530am- to 11 am weekdays and 6am-9:30am weekends. You can earn take home doses with time, not missing doses, and your requirements from your counselor, which may be narcan prevention learning how to administer narcan if someone is overdosing, and a monthly group which is on the phone now due to the pandemic and meeting with your counselor. You MUST wear a mask , or you'll be kicked out! You also will see many hand sanitizer located throughout the clinic.
