About Waterville Comprehensive Treatment Center

Comprehensive Treatment Centers has a clinic in Waterville, Maine. They used to be called Discovery House, but they’re now a methadone clinic for drug and alcohol addiction. They have medication assisted treatment and outpatient services for adults.

Rather than quit cold turkey, which can be dangerous to your health, an alternative is to descale your dosing. This is where medication assisted treatment comes in. Your intake of meds like methadone and Suboxone can help with your withdrawal pains and cravings while making sure you slowly cut back. This way you can safely control your addictions. Their trained clinicians will guide you to prevent overdoses.

In addition to meds you’ll also get counseling so you can learn about your treatment. You’ll find better ways to cope with anger and stress, and you’ll have peers to support your progress. Medicare and Medicaid are accepted.

I really enjoy the staff I think they are very friendly and courteous. Sometimes the lines get a little long but as long as you do what your supposed to do you can get a week's worth of take homes. The only reason why someone would most likely have a bad time here is because they are not getting off drugs and not doing what they are suppose to do. So if your being treated poorly by staff it's probably cuz they know your a loser who won't stop failing urine test and skipping out on counseling and thus giving methadone clinics a bad name. So I would definitely recommend this place to people who truly want help cuz it's a friendly comfortable atmosphere. For those who won't take it seriously go some where else.Update- still at this clinic and still very happy with this place and I'm so happy they finally fixed the giant. Pot holes in the parking lot. I've seen a lot of staff here come and go but one thing stays the same the treatment here is top notch. I've been at this clinic since 2010 and would definitely recommend it to anyone struggling with addiction issues. Don't be nervous about going here to get help it's a great place with great friendly employees. The new security guard is pretty cool too.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Maine is the process of helping someone learn how to live without the use of substances. Professional staff provide treatment to address the various issues of addiction. Methods often involve medication, counseling, and evidence-based therapies.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual therapy offers personalized sessions for drug and alcohol addiction treatment to help uncover and address the root causes of addictive behavior. Your therapist will provide individualized, one on one support to help you build resilience and develop healthier habits with a focus on long term sobriety.

One lady at the front window is really mean, kicking a person out with a service animal. But otherwise everyone else is nice

This place saved my life. I don't kno where I'd be if I didn't seek treatment here. I was heading down the wrong path quickly. I finally got enough sense to call discovery house for an intake. It took me a few years to get stable n then taper myself out but I not only did it successfully but I learned alot about myself thru the process. Most importantly I learnt that in order for the methadone clinic to work I had to not jus be a "good"patient and arrive everyday and take my drink and leave and attend all my appointments and groups....i had to focus on changing my life outside of the clinic...changing my friends and my choices...i had to make a complete lifestyle change. I moved 200 miles away from everyone and everything I knew. Got a full time job got a good counselor, changed my relationships changed my frame of mind and way of thinking. I learned that I was lacking coping skills...actually skills in general. U can move away and change everything however drug use and abuse is everywhere...u cannot hide from it or run from it. I had to work on growing my "tool box" of skills and tools to deal with life clean and sober. Ian a completely diffrent person now and so proud of who I have become. It was hard work but so worth it. Thank u discovery house

I think they need to get their software systems fixed and add another window if they are going to keep taking in strays. The line is out the damn door more than not.
