The staff is excellent, they are willing to adapt to the schedules of the patients, they are very considerate with the needs of each of their clients. This was the first place where I feel they care about me without being judged.
About Discovery House
Layton Comprehensive Treatment Center used to be known as Discover House. It’s a drug rehab for adults in Layton, Utah that provides medication assisted treatment and outpatient services for clients dealing with addiction. Payment is easy because they take so many options. You can pay yourself or use commercial insurance, military benefits, Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, or Medi-Cal.
You may also hear their medication assisted treatment program called MAT. MAT uses approved prescription medications to reduce cravings and help you avoid relapse during treatment. There are many different kinds of medications available, but this clinic uses methadone, Suboxone, and buprenorphine. You’ll also attend outpatient therapy to help you create new habits and mindsets that support a lifestyle of recovery.
During your therapy sessions, you’ll learn skills that can help you stay sober even when your treatment is over. For example, you’ll talk about the roots of your addiction and discover healthy coping mechanisms to use instead of turning to drugs. You may also get professional advice on things like how to deal with grief, heal a broken relationship, or stand out in a job search.
One past client observed that the clinical team meets multiple times a day to create treatment plans that will work for each person. They said they trusted the advice they were given and it’s working. Another remarked that it’s hard to get this kind of help across the state and that it was much easier to recover with their support.

Other Forms of Payment
Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.
Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
When you enter a drug rehab in Utah, the process usually involves four stages: treatment initiation, early abstinence, maintaining abstinence, and advanced recovery. Treatment methods can rely on medications, counseling, or both, in either an outpatient or inpatient setting.
Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
