Ridiculous experience. Can t believe I lasted 8 days. EXTREMELY profit driven. You will have a lot of sandwiches/wraps for lunch/dinner. There are absolutely no healthy snacks provided, actually no snacks at all provided. There is a vending machine that you can get Twinkies/candy/soft drinks (garbage) that is marked up 500% and the machine does not give you the item 25% of the time. Their medical staff is incompetent on a good day, negligent on most days. I was there for 7 nights and in that time 1 guy had a massive seizure in my arms (he was detoxing off of benzos in their detox facility-2 rooms in the same wing I was in- with NO MEDICINE), 1 guy went to the hospital 3 times (he had MAJOR medical issues that needed a much higher level of care than that area could provide-Not good business to let your clients go home before they could juice the insurance company for everything they could), 1 guy was diagnosed by the PA (there is NO doctor available) with Stage 3 kidney failure and was told he needed to be medically discharged-He was not, he only had 4 days left , and another guy was having severe gall bladder issues-he was taking him to the hospital to receive morphine. Whenever there was a problem, they would not address the gallbladder. There are arbitrarily enforced unwritten rules-Example (there are many) Myself and four other men were watching an old boxing match, one of the nobodies that watches us at night came and made us turn it off, saying that it would trigger somebody. I am a drug addict and I know I need rules, but I m also a husband, father, and business owner. I refuse to be treated like a mentally disabled child. When the closer (Nicole) reeling me in, I was very clear about my need to stay in touch with my company. When I got there I was informed I had to wait 8 days. I thought that was ridiculous and definitely not truthful on their part, but I decided to roll with it. When day 8 rolled around, I was not allowed to to contact my company because I did not sign up for it. I had no idea I was supposed to sign up, no one told me. I was supposed to have a mentor to tell me all the rules and stuff like signing up, but no one was ever assigned. All of the counselors knew it, and just kind of rolled their eyes. At that point, I told him I was leaving him to give him my stuff. They actually had the nerve to tell me I could not leave for 72 hours. That is actually hysterical thinking about it now. I just walked right past those dingdong into the safe room and grab my stuff and walked out. I would actually give half a star if I could, and that would be pushing it. EDIT-Holy cow, I read a few of the reviews. I will address the one that Cypress Lakes responded to. There absolutely IS NOT a doctor or physiatrist on staff. There is a negligent PA and 3 counselors-former drug addicts that took a 12 month course. It s funny how Cypress Lakes only responded to the person that did not go there. I bet they don t respond to this. And I guess my experience of having to hold a guy having a seizure is a common thing over there, there was another 1 star review talking about that circus

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Cypress Lakes Lodge offers outpatient programs for patients looking to extend the care they received from their residential program. Outpatient programs are also meant for patients who are at the very beginning of addiction and don’t necessarily require detox but some instruction and stability. An outpatient program will give patients the guidance and support they need to abstain from drugs, alcohol, and addictive behaviors.
inpatient iconInpatient
An inpatient program is the best way to begin a recovery as there are no distractions while the patient heal. The discipline of a live-in program will help each patient develop the stability of complete recovery, daily wellness plans that include mental health counseling, set meal schedules, planned activities, integrative therapies, and peer support groups. They help the patient to create a strong foundation for a sober living lifestyle.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
As each client moves through the various stages of addiction recovery treatment, these aftercare services can be tailored to their needs. Not all clients are ready to leave residential treatment, so they provide a transitional living program that can help them build confidence and to transition into their independent living environment. Their transitional living program allows each client to receive mental health, counseling, nutrition planning and integrative treatments while living within their facilities part-time. They help their clients obtain work and equip them with additional skills for the added stress of new experiences.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
An intervention is a way to present the problem at hand, offer a solution to the problem, and a way for the individual to recognize the negative effects of their behaviors on those most important to them under the supervision of a professional interventionist. Working on an addiction intervention with their intervention specialists, there are steps they need to take before performing an intervention on someone family member or loved one. Before approaching their family member, it’s important that everyone involved in the intervention meet and discuss their approach beforehand with the interventionist.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Treatment that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach focuses on four strategies. Distress tolerance will help you accept and tolerate intense emotions. Emotional regulation will teach you to manage those emotions. Mindfulness will keep you in the present moment instead of regret or worry. Interpersonal effectiveness will teach you to manage your relationships.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Together with an experienced trauma therapist, you work on healing emotional wounds from traumatic experiences within a trauma therapy environment. Your therapist will help you process the experience of the trauma, which promotes emotional healing and improves your overall mental health.

Couples therapy helps couples learn to control emotions, trust each other, and communicate more effectively. It can be useful for short term intervention for a specific issue or for working on the relationship long term.

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

Families and patients learn about addiction and mental health conditions so they can understand and step away from feeling angry and betrayed to being supportive. Families are directed to find support groups and a network of sources to help them through recovery. Family members often forget that they too need support since they all have emotional troubles to share and work through. When someone they love has an addiction, they focus on their health and safety so much that they forget about what they need to be well.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Every patient is given a meal plan and set of nutritional options they can carry into their active recovery after treatment at Cypress Lakes Lodge. While these plans are being created, and they are modified to suit them better, they educate their patients on the health benefits of each food and their components. Healthy nutritional education can make the patients aware of the things they put into their bodies and possibly change the way they think about alcohol and drugs.

Addiction recovery treatment in Texas will offer recreational therapy in a holistic approach to treatment. Therapy incorporates enjoyable activities that support your physical and mental health, such as team sports, creative arts, or individual sports. This activity gives you an emotional outlet, reduces your stress, and improves your mood, each of which promotes long term sobriety.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

When used as recommended, nicotine replacement therapy in Texas provides enough nicotine to help you avoid severe cravings and withdrawal symptoms after quitting smoking. This increases comfort so you're less likely to relapse into your smoking habit.

Cyprus Lakes Recovery is a great program for anyone looking to recover from addiction and alcoholism.Being someone who works in the recovery industry, I really appreciate Cyprus Lakes transparent and open line of communication. Any time we have someone needing to get into their program they're always super willing to hop on the phone and do whatever it takes to help the individual. If I had a family member who needed drug and alcohol treatment, there's a very small list of program I'd recommend in Texas, but Cyprus Lakes Recovery is definitely on that list!!!

Avoid this place at all costs.I ll start with the patients comments. Hey, there isn t a family therapy available for kids as young as ours. I don t feel comfortable having our kids coming to a place like this. The website is absolutely misleading and this place is chaotic. Additionally she had to witness and help with someone having a seizure. Which she said was traumatizing for her.She says she only gets to speak to a therapist one on one once a week. From my experience,They lack in communication. I have called twice for information, once regarding information about family visits and once regarding financial information. I am involved with payment of care. I was continuously responded to with We can neither confirm or deny that patient is here I have not asked for anything related to her protected health information. I simply wanted to know when my kids can see their mom (before she sent the text above) and how much money I will have to pay out of pocket for her to extend an additional week.

I didn t want to go to rehab, but it was my only option to go home. I went in with an open mind, participated in all the classes and made the best of it. I enjoyed the staff and other clients, I learned a lot from everyone there. 30 days flew by.

I wasn t sure what to expect from my first time in treatment but I have to say, the amazing staff at this place understands how difficult it is to seek help when you re at your most vulnerable. They so lovingly meet you where you re at on your recovery journey but, I could quickly tell, they care too much to leave you there. The approach they use is individualized and adaptive to each and every alcoholic and addict. By far, the BEST therapist and clinical team that I ve had the privilege of working with. I appreciate all the staff and the knowledgeable experience they share about their own recovery journey. Today, I am beginning to thrive and live a life full of hope, perseverance and possibilities and it s truly incredible! My prayer for all who read this, is for you to discover your purpose and live the life God created you to live!

Everyone from the cooks (thank you both for always double plating me and for my birthday cake), to every nurse (that enjoyed me knocking on the door and announcing my name before I came in to beautiful smiles), to every single RA (that taught me lessons that I carry with me to this day), to my driver (who played me Frank Sinatra the entire way to the facility with no complaint), to both counselors(who showed me so much love and understanding), to the director (who bestowed upon me such kindness and love), to the owners (who brought donuts and beautiful fireworks) are fantastic. I put my care into their hands blindly and they didn't let me nor my family down. I would recommend this BEAUTIFUL and CARING facility to ANYONE who wants to better their lives. The activities for the whole family was awesome, the fishing, the swimming, the kayaking, the SERENITY...I could go on and on... Even after my stay they have cared for me just like I was still there. CLL saved my life. I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL.P.S.- I love you Joanie!! My color of this review is heart red for all of the love that was given to me.Signed,a GRATEFUL CLL Alumni.

CLL is a wonderful place to get help if you re struggling with addiction. They really do care. Tobin is one of if not the best counselors I ve ever had. I ve been to quite a few rehabs band this place the first time around helped my stay sober for a good amount of time. This 2nd time I was struggling with my mental health and they were able to see that and they sent me to a place that specializes in depression (not a psych-ward). They didn t seem in it for the money because I ve been to places that would have just kept me even though I was struggling a lot. They didn t do that. They realized that going somewhere else would be most beneficial for ME and they helped find a place and also helped me get to the place. I can t imagine where I would be without the people at CLL. The staff really cares about the residents and there were many times where they just sat and talked to me and were just supportive of me in my journey. It s all love here. Some of the rules are wack if I m being honest but they re in place for a reason and understanding that coming in will help you. If you want to go to a place that cares, come here. If you need to get your life in order because you struggling with addiction, come here. If you want a beautiful life, the one you deserve, these people can help you get there if you follow their guidance. I love y all at CLL. Thank you for everything y all have done for me and done on my side with me. Much love

This is an exceptional treatment center. I arrived there scared, broken & with absolutely no idea how to live life sober. The staff and counselors truly care about their clients. With their guidance I obtained hope, serenity, gratitude and a multitude of coping skills. They loved me until I could love myself. They taught me how to live a happy sober life, one day at a time. I just celebrated one year sober and I know Cypress Lakes Lodge gave me the best possible foundation for long-term sobriety. I will forever be grateful for this place and the staff that worked so hard to help me become the person I am today.
