i was 17 years old when i walked into turnbridge. i was nervous, and in a way, shameful. i am diagnosed with bpd and bipolar 1, so in my mind at the time, i was scared that i was doing the wrong thing of telling my mom to send me here. you see for me, the months before had been the worst months of my life. i had experienced a breakup that i never thought would happen, and at the time, i was resentful, i was in denial, and above all, i felt that i shouldn t be here anymore. i was also going through other things personally, causing me to fall into harmful habits,it was all just too much, and that s when i realized, that if i don t go somewhere now, this would be the end. I walked into turnbridge terrified, and within seconds of being there, i knew this place was different than any other place. There were girls dancing in the common area, which looked so cozy and comforting, with couches and pillows, to music on the tv, and they were happy. Immediately i felt safe, i almost thought it was too good to be true. All of the girls ended up feeling like not just residents, but sisters, best friends, and we were always there for each-other, with no hesitation. For once i didn t feel like the odd one out when i was with them, and that says a lot as a teenage girl, being surrounded by others. My therapist, Zach, he saved me. He isn t your ordinary therapist, if your in the wrong, he will let you know, but the difference with him is that he wants to know why, he wants to fix it, he wants to understand it, and he understood me. I will never forget zach, he stood by my side until the very end, watching me as i drove away with my, once thought terrible mother, now crying together because at this point,i just didn t want to leave. The memories i had with those girls, watching them grow mentally just as they watched me, now standing by the door, giving hugs and best wishes. The memories i had with the staff, who were nothing but comforting and friend like, and they didn t feel like staff who were always on the watch in a way that feels unsettling. They were just there to make sure you were ok, and even more so, to make you feel not so alone. And of course, Zach, who put me and the other girls that were in our therapy group before anything, was there to see me go back, into the real world as we called it. Don t settle for anything less than turnbridge, because nothing else had ever worked with me, and turnbridge not only put me back to myself, but it saved me. and everyone involved, all of the staff, and my therapist zach, have truly made me who i am today. thank you, tb, i am doing so much better now, in the real world :)

This is absolutely the best of the best medical offices I have ever been to for medical assistance. Every person who works there is friendly, helpful, and polite. I have been a Connecticut resident most of my life, but I have lived in Pennsylvania for a few years, Texas too, and have used their VA medical centers as well.
