I never leave reviews on Google for any service ever, but my experience with this office has been an absolute disaster and caused me severe amounts of emotional and mental pain. At first, I was extremely pleased with my services (therapeutic and psychiatric). I got along very well with both of my providers, until my therapist informed me mid appointment that she was leaving the practice and would not be returning. This also happened to my brother with a separate therapist, and my sister with two therapists. I was never contacted about getting another therapist, and when I left voicemails in regards to this, I received no calls back. My psychiatrist cancelled two appointments in a row and I was discharged in June 2024. I did not find this out until August 2024, after struggling to get refills with no indication of why the doctor would not refill them. They said it was because he had not seen me. (Of course he hasn't? He cancelled two appointments on me!) I had to go to the ER to get an emergency refill because I was starting to experience severe emotional issues, self harm relapse, amongst other unsavory effects from having no medicine.I found a different office. So, I called and left voicemails about getting my records sent over, with no reply of course. I drove to the office to get my papers faxed and explicitly stated I wanted them faxed and mentioned multiple times that I wrote the new office's fax number on the release paperwork, yet the receptionist said they would mail them instead (???)My new therapy office was concerned they would not get my records in time, and were considering postponing my appointment until October (another month without medication) because of this office's lack of care, planning, bedside manner, and general negligence.I had to call and beg them in tears, my new therapist's office called them about faxing the information, and my girlfriend called them and left multiple harsh voicemails (which was the only way for them to get anything done, apparently) for them to finally say "Yes, we just faxed the papers."If you have a dedicated staff person for records, they should be able to send the records in a timely manner. Mailing is significantly slower. Especially for a patient that you discharged with no indication of the discharge. I actively tried to find a new therapist with this disaster of an office. I made every attempt I possibly could to be a "good patient" and I ended up having the worst emotional instability I have had since being severely mistreated as a child. This office is a disaster. I cannot even IMAGINE how they treat patients with disabilities or in addiction counseling. There are few good options in Indiana for therapeutic care, especially for individuals with state health insurance. But please, for your own sake and wellness, do NOT consider going to this office. It was a horrible mistake. I have never seen or encountered medical negligence anywhere near this horrible in my life. Beware! They will NOT help you.

Accepted Insurance

Community Guidance Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab provides clients with an opportunity to focus solely on their sobriety away from the stressors of the home and workplace. Clients receive housing, food, and intensive clinical supervision. They also typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions each week, including daily individual, group, and/or family sessions. Most programs also prioritize recovery-focused life skills training, including courses in relapse prevention. Many facilities offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as yoga and meditation.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), you can participate in intensive rehabilitation treatment with the ability to return home at the end of the day. For a weekly minimum of 20 hours, a partial hospitalization program can take place up to 5 days a week for an average of 90 days. During PHP treatment, you can receive relapse prevention strategies, medication management, individual and group therapy, and other behavioral therapy interventions.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
A medical detox is the safest way to wean your body off drugs and/or alcohol in an inpatient setting. When detoxing from addictive substances, the physical and psychological side effects of withdrawal can cause mood swings, anxiety, nausea, or flu-like symptoms. In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals are on hand 24/7 to help alleviate potential withdrawal symptoms, administer medications to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, and ultimately keep you safe and comfortable throughout this process.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

I brought my child into this place on July 26 2024 for an intake review. It is now 7 weeks later and child has yet to see a counselor. The CGC has canceled EVERY SINGLE APPOINTMENT! EVERY ONE OF THEM! and each time they had a different reason. I called my insurance and let them know! I encourage everyone else who has had a similar experience to do the same!

This place is terrible. Everything i would call to schedule an appointment with my therapist, I was told that she schedules herself and I would never hear anything back. The doctor would just up my meds when I never even asked him to in the first place. Plus he was only available twice a week. They would cancel appointments and reschedule with out even talking to me first. Than they dropped me, when I asked why no one gave me an answer. They claimed they sent me a letter in the mail that I never even got. I would never recommend anybody go here.

HORRIBLE place. They would not give my daughter her monthly shot that she needs unless she did a intensive program which I put her in. Then I found out about 2 months later for every day she was required to go I had to pay a copay of 20$. They told her she had to come everyday. I owed over 450$ for nothing. Then I asked to get FMLA paperwork filled out and they lied to me and said they sent the paperwork to my work. They sent blank forms. I had to keep asking for them to fill the papers out, they kept pushing the paperwork to other departments and finally Donna who is absolutely rude and dishonest said they don t fill those out, she gaslighted me by saying I told you we don t fill those out already. If she in fact had told me that I wouldn t have been pushing so hard to get it done. They strung me around for 2 months meanwhile racking up copays that was unaware of and I had asked before hand if I would owe anything and they said no it s covered by my insurance. If you don t have mental issues, just dealing with those people will create them. HORRIBlE.

If I could give negative stars I would. I was excited to start with these people after the wonderful phone conversation I had when I set up the appointment. Today was my first appointment. I was running a little late so I called to let them know. I never spoke to a real person and it took me 4 minutes just to get through voice mail hell to leave a message. I know because I was watching the call length displayed on my screen. I arrived 15 minutes late to find a deserted office. No patients, no one in the office. I wait another 5 minutes at the window when I hear a toilet flush and someone come out. I told her I tried to call but no one answered the phone and I had to wade thru voice mail hell. Her reply was they were so busy she just had a chance to go to the bathroom. I see NO ONE. Busy with what? Took my money, info and told me to wait. Finally someone comes out to call me name. AND to tell me I m 25 minutes late and now they have to reschedule me. I was not 25 minutes late. I was 15 and tried to notify someone. I had enough. I got up to walk out without saying a word and was assaulted with a barrage of sarcastic comments. Oh if that s the way you re going to be goodbye and have a nice day. Thanks for coming . Then I spoke. Told her to try answering her phone once in a while. She started back at me with how she gets right back to people blah blah blah. I can t even tell you what she said because I was so mad I couldn t here.Run, don t walk away from these people. This is a MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY and they choose to verbally abuse people. Sad reflection on the health industry in general. My next call is to my insurance agency to strongly recommend they drop these people.
