About Community Counseling Center

The Community Counseling Center is a drug and alcohol rehab in Carson City, Nevada. They also provide mental health treatment and other community services which makes them an important resource for Carson City.

The main type of addiction recovery program they have here is their intensive outpatient program. Your IOP will be specifically designed for the treatment you need and the issues that affect your addiction. That can include mental health conditions and more. For the most part your program will consist of group therapy and individual therapy.

The team here uses a lot of different techniques like SMART Recovery and cognitive behavioral therapy. With all these tricks up their sleeves they can find the best strategies to help you grow in your recovery and maintain your sobriety long term.

If you find yourself in legal trouble this rehab can help with that too. They offer court mandated programs and jail alternative programs. Clients do have mixed experiences here and it seems to be a matter of whether the counselor you receive is a good fit for you.

This is not a place any person or animal should ever be! The employees & director are the scum of the earth. They make fun of people, they are abusive, bully, they steal, they over charge & the worst part they are totally into humiliating harassing bullying name calling. They share people's information with not just people there but their own family's. This place should be shut down & all the employees & the director all thrown in jail. They kick people out in the middle of the night with no way to call for help. Absolutely disgusting. They are the worst of the worst kind of people.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving services in a rehab aftercare program are typically in the maintenance phase of their recovery, having already completed intensive inpatient treatment. These clients are generally strongly engaged in addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Case managers and care teams work with clients to identify and access the medical, mental health, and social service programs they need to promote long-term sobriety. Rehab aftercare services often include peer coaching, relapse prevention, and 12 step program induction.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
The goal of a drug intervention in Nevada is to encourage the individual to make positive changes and accept professional treatment. Friends and family typically do this carefully planned process, in collaboration with intervention services. A professional such as a drug counselor or certified interventionist can lead the discussion and provide guidance for next steps.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Ridding your body of alcohol and drugs in a medically supervised environment is known as medically supervised detox. During this period of inpatient care, you are monitored by a team of medical professionals whose job it is to help keep you as safe and comfortable as possible while addressing any withdrawal symptoms. Medically supervised detox is typically the first step in the recovery process, and usually takes an average of 5-7 days.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you enter drug rehab in Nevada, you receive professional assistance to remove drugs from your body and cease your body's need for the substance. You learn coping strategies and receive support to prevent relapse and enjoy long-term sobriety.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Substance abuse counselors may apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Nevada during individual, family, or group sessions. Using a goal oriented approach, the therapist will help participants change negative thinking and behavioral patterns to address substance use and related challenges.

If you're experiencing substance use disorder, dialectical behavior therapy in Nevada can help you reduce cravings, learn healthier ways to manage stress, and avoid situations that can lead to substance abuse. Treatment includes one on one sessions with your therapist as well as group sessions to practice the skills you're learning.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual therapy provides you with a confidential setting to explore the complex factors that contribute to drug and alcohol addiction. Your therapist can provide tailored support and help you develop healthy coping strategies, improve self control, and build a foundation for sustainable sobriety.

Research shows that motivational interviewing is an effective approach for individuals who are unprepared for change. They may be resistant to change or simply insecure in their abilities to make changes. This therapeutic method allows clients to explore their options, reach their own conclusions, and feel empowered to make changes.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Developing life skills supports your social, psychological, and physical well being. These skills give you the ability to navigate the challenges you'll face in recovery. They include interpersonal skills, self awareness, and thinking skills.

Using recreational therapy in a holistic addiction treatment program allows you to find joy and purpose within healthy activities. You might engage in group games, arts and crafts, and fitness programs that promote relaxation and physical health. These are essential for long term recovery.

I would not recommend coming here for mental health services or help. Their main concern here is drug abuse, even with no drug use you will be treated like a drug addict. I would recommend Carson Community Mental Health or Vitality.

This place is a joke, they won't ever reach out to you after a evaluation or any appointment and keep you guessing. Camilla made so many errors in my boyfriends evaluation. On the first page it has his birthday and then in the first line it says he is 10 years older than his birth date does. So unprofessional. The bald anger management guy should not be an anger management councilor since he is such a provocative person, just trying to make you angry. I don't understand how this place is still in business since I am not the first person to be screwed over by an evaluation full of errors here.

If you are wanting to get clean and stay clean off of drugs/alcohol and you have the right mindset (driven, positive), their residential program is world-class. I haven't had a single issue in the past few months I've been a client of theirs. Keep up the great work guys.

The only thing necessary for evil to triumph in the world is that good men do nothing!I find this place helpful and am glad I was introduced to the program. I stayed at the transitional living also. I'm greatful for them. My only complaint is I was kicked out of transitional living because I refused to come back without my friend that ran to relapse. This caused me to break curfew by 5 hours. I was successful in my attempt to save her life. I'm not entitled to be there and would make the same decision every single time. Despite what they teach and claim to stand for my effort following those teachings was met with hostility. I find the decision to be petty and technical showing no compassion. I have no regrets in my decision and hope they can live with theirs knowing exactly what happened and why.

Only one of my intake counselors listened to me and tried to help. The other two made me feel judged and I walked out of my third appointment due to it. Good luck to those who try to go themselves without a court order, self intake, they ll make it about other things instead of what help you re seeking.

I'm sorry you felt this way and although you may be looking to treat one specific thing we have to do our due diligence and look into all areas of a person's life in order to help them treat the issue they may be needing help with. I'm sorry you felt we were not listening to you.
