I was a patient here myself not long ago . This place isn t a place to send anyone you love ..I mean this with everything in me DO NOT SEND ANYONE YOU LOVE HERE. They will not get help , they will not receive compassion, they will not have group therapy or any progress for that matter. You just sit there all day wandering and wondering when it s your turn to be free. This is a place for people with poor insurance so basically the world doesn t care .. everything is about money not so if your not financially successful you will not receive decent care any where. No matter how badly you need it. The whole establishment is run down ,old , drab and lonely. You re better off on the outside than the inside. No one there truly cares you feel lonelier going in than you did before you went in. When I was able to go home I had nightmares thinking I would wake back up in there every time I closed my eyes I jumpscare awake because I thought if I slept I would wake up back there. It took a couple of days to re adjust just like an inmate that was released after years or prison. It s a sad uncaring place that I regret having to go too..

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

This place is horrible, the people who work there couldn't care less about you or your situation. The so-called professionalism sucks. Go somewhere that gives dignified treatment.

My family was admitted to this place a few weeks ago. I was with them every step of the way, even came to visit multiple days and folks started to know my face and I became know well by the staff. I came with a doctors note and gave my contact info.Sadly all of that effort was in vain because the doctor and nurse still added to my family's paper work that no contact was made from the patients family and no one came to see them. I was in utter disbelief. Whoever is the director of this place and giving them funding needs to implement a serious audit!!

This is worst place a have ever seen. If I could give negative stars i would. This place should be shut down today!!!!! The staff Here is very unprofessional and steals from the patients. The nurses are very unknowledgeable about the patients conditions and medications. They act as though they received their degrees from dollar tree. The techs are very aggressive with patients and require professional training. They building is old and filthy. The staff let's the patients walk in revealing clothes. Administration is never available, nor do they return phone calls. This place needs to be shut down today!!! How many more one star reviews will it take before the state steps in.

I've found out my mother is in this place by a family member. I/my sister called up there on 3way trying to get information on my mother who's in there on 10/14/22 and spoke to a Shay who transferred us to a Paul who was very unprofessional and sounded as if he needed to be in there for his self. After not getting the information we needed from him, we asked to speak to a manager whereas he literally said hold on but didn't do anything but changed his voice and it only ticked us if so we hung up. I called back spoke with a lady name Candace who transferred me to a Karen or Carolyn not exactly sure but who took my info and my sister number and stated someone go give either of us a call on Monday do to it being a Friday and the eknd. Well on Monday do no one called as of yet! So I called up there and that's how I found out it was Paul who were unprofessional and disrespectful when we were trying to see about our mom. He took my name and number and stated he were go pass it to her dr.Rodrigue who I'm waiting to hear from in reference to my mom. Well my daughter went up there on yesterday and bought my mother food she were told she couldn't have it cause it has to be enough to share with others on floor. Worst $hi+ I Ever heard cause they getting paid by medicaid for each individual and meals suppose to be included. My daughter stated 1 lady she worked with in another facility allowed my mother to eat her food after all. My daughter stated how horrible the place look etc etc I just want this place to know. I'm coming with high authorities and reporting this place to the state!!! Better yet the news ppl every person experienced the same treatment from this staff. And doctors, social workers etc has a responsibility to contact families especially when we didn't know where our mother were! Ridiculous place needs to be shut down cause they act and sound like the folks in there. just know it's just beginning since no calls were EVER RETURNED INCLUDING THE DOCTORS who careless. Not a descent place to have anyone staying there.

Where do I begin. If I could rate this hospital a negative I would. Dr. Mohammed Yasin ignored the emergency note from Oschner (it contained the medication my loved one is supposed to be on, the only one that he ever responded to) the day he arrived at this facility. He proceeded to put him on the same medication that failed multiple times before. We were calling the social worker Alan almost daily, it always went to voicemail. Only once we managed to get a hold of him, were we relayed our request and emphasized what medication he should be given. This seemingly never reached Dr. Yasin. To be fair, the social worker is in charge of most of the patients there, and he is obviously overwhelmed. It s still no excuse to keep a concerned family out of the loop, with zero updates. It reached a point we had physically go to the facility and demand to see the doctor. They told us he was not there. We got to see nurse Lisa however, and she honestly was the only good thing about this place. She was understanding, and seemed to actually care about the well-being of her patients. She relayed what we told her about the medication. But unfortunately, Dr. Yasin said his job was not to treat, but to stabilize. Very odd thing for a doctor to state. Especially when my loved one was stable in the first place, and was admitted voluntarily. So he basically did nothing during his 10 day stay. The day of discharge, the social worker added that Oh, by the time we knew about the medication request, it was too late because we want to discharge him and don t want to keep him more in here Mind you, the medication was in his emergency note the day he arrived, and we called several times to emphasize this point. It s just that nobody bothered to do anything, because no one cared. In summary: my loved one on his discharge day was in the same state as when he was first admitted.
