About CommQuest Services Market Ave. Outpatient

CommQuest is a non profit organization that provides mental health and addiction recovery services and social support in Canton, Ohio. Clients can receive a same-day, 60-minute assessment with licensed counselors to determine the best treatment options for their recovery. The addiction treatment services available include outpatient care and medication assisted treatment (MAT). CommQuest also offers additional unique treatment programs including its family support group and its Mom+Me recovery program.

The organization started in 2015 after a merger between Quest Recovery & Prevention Services and Community Services. They are staffed with case managers, counselors, medical professionals and various healthcare professionals.

In the outpatient addiction program, clients will learn to identify triggers and develop coping skills to maintain sobriety. Clients also learn how to create support systems and make improvements to their quality of life. All treatment plans are individualized to each patient’s needs. Some of the evidence-based approaches that counselors may use include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI). The program that stands out the most to me CommQuest’s grant-funded Mom+Me program.

This program provides substance abuse treatment and social services to mothers who are expecting or have children under one. Mothers will receive assistance with education, food and employment. They are also provided with transportation options, family safety and an on-site pediatrician.

The program is available to current CommQuest clients who are struggling with specific drugs such as heroin and pain pills. Family members also struggle when their loved one has an addiction problem. Through the Family Education and Support Group, family members can receive education on self-care, coping strategies and other helpful information from a counselor.

I have been at this clinic for years, I came in last week to see Dr Abdul or something and my urine test flagged for fentanyl, I don't take fentanyl, he took me off my medicine cold turkey that day and I was told to go to detox, my urine came back from the lab, showed no fentanyl use and he won't put me back on my normal medicine. I'm given no answer as to why I'm being kept off my medicine. This doctor is horrible!!!

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Per session payment lets you pay for each treatment at the time of service. You may also pay for a certain number of sessions up front and then pay for more if needed. This format allows you to tailor the financial investment to your specific needs and avoid having a large lump sum payment due at the end of the treatment program.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
CommQuest offers outpatient counseling services at five locations in Stark and Carroll Counties. All services are individualized and based on a comprehensive assessment, performed by either CommQuest or a referring agency. Outpatient services are available for both adults and adolescents by contacting CommQuest directly. The treatment is 1-2 times per week at any of their five locations, and they offer a group or individualized setting.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). Each session is 3 hours in length, they meet 3 or 5 days per week. The treatment runs for 4-5 weeks.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
inpatient iconInpatient
12-step icon12-Step
Many treatment centers base their recovery models on the 12 step programming standard, which combines intensive peer support with spiritual, psychological, and emotional growth. Participants in 12 step recovery programs are expected to regularly attend group meetings, which are free, anonymous, peer-led, and open to the public. They are also required to select a sponsor to guide them through the recovery journey. These programs deploy spiritual principles to foster participants' self-understanding, forgiveness, acceptance, and accountability.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. The Co-Occurring Disorders Program provides services for adults and adolescents with both mental health and substance use disorders.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. CommQuest offers a family support group for those seeking help and guidance with a loved one who is battling addiction to drugs and alcohol or currently going through a recovery program.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Everything you read about this place here is correct. 7 years invested into this facility and if they want you gone their going to deliberately set you up for failure to kick you out. When I first started here it was a nice facility doctors and staff were great. They were not everbooked constantly. Eventually they try take take on to much and things get mixed up and if you think they are listening to you and your needs they aren't. Your better off going somewhere people care about your well being and want you to succeed in life. It's all about the money here. Puppy mill.... It's a constant new face everytime you walk in. This isn't a problem, but trust needs to be built. It's sickening they are allowed to kick you on your face for what ever reason they want. If they don't have one, they will make one, and there is nothing you can do about it. Go somewhere else. Your better off in the long run.

When I first started here it was good for the first couple months. I would do my counciling and then I would get my script so I can fill it using my insurance, so it cost 15 dollars. Then my Dr decided that they are going to give me my script in house. I asked how it would work with my insurance and I never got a straight answer. Come to find out they were charging me 900 dollars for my meds that is 20 dollars a pill, which is street value. Come one man. This place is a joke and they are a scam. They don't care about the people and they want to make sure that they take advantage of people who are struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues because they know they are vulnerable and feel like they have no other place to go. Please stay away from this place.

If your court ordered anything, stay far away from here. Long wait times and walk ins only accepted. 2+ hour wait in the waiting room got as far as paperwork done within the 2 hours of waiting. I wouldn t recommend them at all. Never again. Hell no.

Worst MAT clinic in Ohio. Ruthless doctor that loves to throw people off medication cold turkey . Never will get people to return your phone calls . Counselors do not care . So many people are hired and quiting you can't even get on a first name basis with anyone. Trust me go somewhere else. Ask anyone, even the people that go there you will never hear anything good. Only good thing I can think of are the nurses, but they work under an awful human being for being a doctor.

I went here looking for help and was told I needed to go to detox to get methadone, and I did go and when I got out I was given the run-around to the point of I was calling literally every day begging for help because I was scared I was going to die out there in the streets. NOBODY ever called me back and I literally called every day for almost 2 weeks. I finally called Akron treatment services and had an appointment that very next morning and got dosed. I wouldn't recommend Commquest to ANYBODY!!! From what I experienced they could care less if you die out there and none of the staff acts like they care about you at ALL. Detox was awesome and all of the staff there was amazing, but that's just not the case with the market street location. I'm so glad I found Akron treatment services and everybody there has been excellent and very caring. I WILL be calling the director of commquest and reporting my experience. And I'm going to find out from my friend who owns a treatment center where I can report them.
