The intensive outpatient program provides individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling, and couples counseling. This program also accepts individuals who are currently detoxing from opioid medications through a medication-assisted treatment program. Most frequently, intensive outpatient services meet for a total of nine hours per week.

The outpatient program provides the same services as the intensive outpatient program but at a reduced frequency. These services include individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling, and couples counseling. Clients are referred to a more intensive level of treatment if needed.

Colonial Clinic accepts most insurance plans, including Amerigroup, Magellan, ComPsych, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and more. Out of network benefits may vary, so it’s important to verify coverage with your provider prior to starting treatment.

I can't believe people are this unethical! I've never had such a disturbing experience with "therapists " in my entire life and I'm almost 60! It took a month to complete my assessment. The first "therapist" rolled his eyes, grimaced, sighed, called me "honey" in a derogatory way, and basically called me a liar. I reported him to the director. She apparently condones unprofessional behavior from her "therapists". I learned, don't report or you will be punished by the facility! I told the second, "therapist" that I have anxiety in groups(I have PTDS wirh social anxiety). I have a hard time disclosing personal information to people I do not know. She then told the director that I wasn't going to comply and refused group. This is not true. I even signed paperwork that I would attend and formulated a recovery plan. I thought it went well, apparently NOT! They basically call people in need liars! Very triggering if you have PTSD! Groups are $400.00 for 1 session! Advise extreme caution before you waste a month or so!

When I joined under the old management it was a good place that seemed to care. It was a one year program with a graduation date. Now under the management of Breakthrough Clinic, they are garbage. Not only are the counselors uncaring, they run an insurance scam keeping you until THEY see fit. They forget their appointments then blame you. My attendance was not court appointed and was there under my own will. I decided on a personal recovery plan that did not include them and I was literally yelled at in the parking lot by my counselor making totally unfounded claims. As of this writing they have done the same to two other group members in the last week. Save your money and time, look for professionals this place is a joke!

Went to Colonial Clinic November 2020, and I am so incredibly grateful I found them. At the time I attended (I hope it's still the same to this day) they require attendance of an outside support group, and strongly suggest getting a sponsor. I followed the suggestions and am still with the same sponsor to this day (May 2023). Did Colonial fix my problems? No. But it was a great first step coming here. Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs support clients as they focus on maintaining their sobriety after intensive (often inpatient) treatment. These programs adhere to a model of life-long recovery, addressing addiction disease as a chronic, relapsing condition. Rehab aftercare services vary widely based on the specific and evolving needs of the client, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, and 12 step program induction. Clients, case managers, and care teams typically collaborate on long-term care plans.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs support participants' psychological, spiritual, and emotional development as integral to sustained recovery. Though 12 step recovery programs are based on the belief in a non-denominational higher power, religious affiliation is not required. Group meetings are paper-led, anonymous, free, and available daily, including on holidays, in most communities. Peer sponsors selected by the participants provide one-on-one coaching and support. Specialized formats are widely available, including programming for youth, seniors, and families.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
It can be difficult for family and friends to carry out a successful drug intervention in Washington on their own. Intervention services can help. These services typically include education about addiction and enabling behaviors, expert facilitation for interventions, and recommendations for appropriate treatment. Often, the involvement of intervention services can create a smooth transition into rehab.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), individuals can receive intensive rehab with the ability to return home each day. PHP treatment is often an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down option. PHP treatment typically requires at least 20 hours per week for approximately 90 days. Common components of PHP treatment plans include relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services. Insurance coverage for PHP treatment is typically available, though coverage specifics depend on your insurance provider.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Effective drug rehab in Washington integrates care for the whole person, offering comprehensive solutions to addiction. Treatment methods address mental, physical, and relational aspects of substance abuse.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Often, substance use disorder originates with negative thinking patterns. Cognitive behavioral therapy in Washington is designed to help individuals change these patterns of thought, which leads to changes in behavior and freedom from addiction.

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a highly structured form of therapy that teaches skills to help participants change negative thoughts and behaviors. Applying a philosophy of acceptance and change, you'll learn and practice these skills to break unhealthy patterns and establish healthy ones.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction treatment emphasize the importance of personalized care. Your therapist works with you to understand your unique life experiences and develop effective coping mechanisms to address your underlying issues. This comprehensive approach to recovery is the foundation of drug rehab.

Clinicians who apply motivational interviewing techniques engage with their clients as equal partners. This method avoids warnings and confrontation and instead allows clients to analyze their situation and explore their options. This technique is often used when the client feels unsure about their ability or desire to change.

The goal of trauma therapy is to help you heal from the aftereffects of a traumatic experience. Your therapist will provide you with a safe and supportive space to process these trauma memories and develop better coping strategies that enhance your emotional resilience.

Couples therapy can help a couple navigate their differences. By learning powerful interpersonal skills in therapy, the couple can work together to overcome challenges and change the direction of their relationship.

One goal of family therapy is to provide a platform where members have a safe place to talk about the challenges that addiction has created in their lives. Using guided sessions, therapists help individual family members develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues between themselves to support their loved one's sobriety.

Life skills training in Washington involves relearning how to manage daily living. It boosts your abilities and confidence so you can overcome challenges both big and small, without returning to substance use.

When your body is properly nourished, healing is much faster. That's why nutrition therapy is an important part of drug rehab in Washington. It helps you learn how to take care of your body so you can heal both mentally and physically from addiction.

This place is really difficult to work with. Every time it's a pain to set appointments and they make it hard to work with your insurance. I would recommend that you look for somewhere else to go.

It can take well over two weeks to get evaluation results. This is something to consider if you are court ordered and need results more timely.

I just celebrated completion of IOP. To be honest this is the best treatment program I can imagine! Closed groups where the members begin recovery by building bonds of trust with each other. Equally important are the caring and professional staff who guide and help in every way. If recovery is truly what you want, Colonial Clinic is a great place to start!
