About Clarion Psychiatric Center

Clarion Psychiatric Center specializes in psychiatric, emotional and behavioral health care for children, teens and adults in Clarion, Pennsylvania. They provide age specific inpatient and outpatient programs. They’re in network with most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, and also accept self pay.

At their inpatient unit, you can receive crisis stabilization services. You’ll be surrounded by a therapeutic, supportive environment with round the clock care. I like that their facility includes all the resources they need to heal emotionally and physically, including a school and full service gym. Some of their programs you may participate in while you’re staying on site include psychiatric evaluations, skills based recovery groups, dietary consultations, academic classes, and psychopharmacology. They also offer counseling sessions for individuals, families and groups.

Their outpatient program is only available to children and teenagers. It’s a short term partial hospitalization option designed for people who need intensive support after inpatient treatment. During the day, you’ll participate in treatments that include group therapy, life skills training and educational groups. The goal of this program is to facilitate the transition from on site services to living at home.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), you can participate in intensive rehabilitation treatment with the ability to return home at the end of the day. For a weekly minimum of 20 hours, a partial hospitalization program can take place up to 5 days a week for an average of 90 days. During PHP treatment, you can receive relapse prevention strategies, medication management, individual and group therapy, and other behavioral therapy interventions.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

Two nicotine replacement therapy medicines have been approved by the FDA. Bupropion decreases cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Varenicline reduces the urge to smoke and the enjoyment you get from cigarettes. Nonprescription therapies include gum, patches, and lozenges.

I do not have no desire to ever go back. Not for me. I don't like authority and my bill for 12 days was $22,219 are you kidding. Wow. It is ice cold in there and they keep the lights on bright and walk in your bedroom at night every 9 seconds and keep your door wide opened!! The beds are like bricks seriously!! Nightmare!! The coffee was so so bad!! I would believe a psychiatric place would be more therapeutic and calming but hell no.. omg!! No. Not going back twice. One therapist named Devin immediately needs to be FIRED! Not one time was she engaged in conversation, she'd ask you two questions and then dead silence and it was with every single Interaction with her. She's a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE therapist ..

I highly recommend this place. I arrived at 'Clarion feeling over medicated and suicidal. I was greeted by staff that actually cared about how I felt. I felt validated and heard. I was able to share my story without feeling judged. Dr. Moll actually looked at the medicine i was on and helped me get off unnecessary meds. His team made sure that i had everything that i would need to be safe and supported while i was trying to learn the coping skills that i needed to cope with my suicidal ideations. We had groups everyday.. they were run by some very knowledgeable and caring staff. I was very blessed i had a great roommate. The room and bathroom was clean. Like i said i would recommend the Clarion Psychiatric Center to anyone who wants to be heard and helped to live a better life.

Wouldn't recommended, very cold. very few staff actually care about the jobs they do. You're either in your bedroom (only at night when permitted to sleep and do basic hygiene), in a group room, on the floor, or walking around. Understandable to receive treatment, but no alternative room to chill? The food is good, and therapeutic sessions are somewhat helpful depending on your situation. Most of the patients were signing (72's) to get out asap, as the treatment wasn't what was expected. (my observation) The environment created by the staff also isn't healthy as they seem like it's such a trouble to ask for assistance; opening bathroom, needing water, questions about treatment plan, etc. (most not all staff) you're not gonna find a perfect place but they could definitely improve the way they do things, i see no reason why it can't be improved. Better management would be my assumption.

I was there to get help and even though I was sick they were there for me, I knew how it goes and everyone seemed to care. I had some up and downs but hopefully I can help others like the way they helped me. I would recommend this place to others bc they do get u off the unit and most hospitals ur stuck in one place. U don't expect food to come to unit u go to cafeteria. Thanks to Chris, Krista, Amy, Lisa, Laurie, Lori, Rory, Cora, Tara, and Erin, for making this process for me easier. I knew I needed the help and I stuck to the program. Wo trying to leave. Which I'm proud of myself for that
