Very bad experience, no clara mass oncology department. was in this hospital undergoing chemotherapy treatment and I felt sad about my situation. The oncology nurse, Antonucci, Michelle, PA, came to her own conclusions and took me to the emergency room so that a doctor could supposedly medicate me. She did a great disservice by authorizing the internal psychiatry department to admit me as a homicide person who attempted suicide for an indefinite period of time. I went in without knowing that it was an indefinite admission. I panicked when I found out what the nurse Micheli had recommended. They had already taken all my belongings, clothes and everything including my cellphone and told me, "Relax, you'll be here for a long term " I asked to talk to a psychiatrist before they tie me to the bed and gave me a drug in my vein. The psychiatrist talked to me and saw no reason to lock me in homicide department. I will never go back to this hospital again. I had to stop my chemo treatment and now I'm going to another hospital. Be careful when the hospital asks you to sign. something quick, because the oncology nurse Micheli gave me a tablet and said do this click here and here quickly so I can take you to an appointment and she did a mean trick, but I believe in God and life is a ping pong

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in New Jersey is more than a confrontational conversation. This organized effort is specific and goal-oriented. During the intervention, family members share specific examples of how the person's addiction has impacted their lives and spell out what they will do if the individual does not get treatment. The intervention also presents a clear treatment plan, which typically involves input from intervention services.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical means opposing. The premise of dialectical behavior therapy is to learn how two things that seem to be opposite can actually be true. You learn how to accept yourself while also making changes. The focus is on accepting your emotions and changing how you manage them.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy provides a structure to approach healing from past traumatic events that you may have witnessed or experienced. Your therapist will work with you to identify and process these memories. This helps promote a sense of safety and stability and helps you heal emotionally.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Terrible Hospital. The nursing staff was horrific. I would ask for a glass of water and it took 12 hours to get one. They put a Foley catheter in me that they did incorrectly and it caused me such pain that I couldn't lay down I couldn't sit down and I couldn't stand up I could only lay on my side for over a month. I want the Hackensack General after getting out of this Horror Story of a hospital and they ran CAT scans and said that my whole intestinal tract was inflamed from that catheter and that's not the only thing they did wrong. I had a room that was smaller than an area that a dog would be kept in an animal shelter it was unbelievable they have been harassing me for over a year cleaning out first it was $1,200 and now they're saying 1800.00 that Medicare didn't pay meanwhile Medicare sent me affidavits proving they paid every penny that was owed them and they told me not to give them any money I have sent that information to them and their collection agencies on at least six occasions. The collection agencies upon receiving this info never called me again but the hospital is still at it. So I hope they have a lot of money for a really large lawsuit I'm going to sue him for every penny I can. They think they can harass you endlessly well that harassment is over with because I have proof for Medicare they were paid. The only Department that was good was the cardiac department they were excellent.

This is not about the doctor or the treatment. This is more of a facility and have it get treated with the family members.Security guy at the front doesn t discard or shreds visitors card at the entrance upon exiting the Hospital. Guard on a duty ask an individual for the paper back, but the family member refused to give it to the to the security member because he saw they were pile of family members information laying around in the exit bin. The family member tear the visiting card in front of the security guard in many small pieces and then give it to the security guard. Then security guard saw the pile and then he basically tear all the papers by the hand, but he did not put it in the shredding machine. This happened in front of my eyes I would not want to come into this hospital if the security guard keeps all the personal information wide open in front of the public face.

If I could give fewer stars, I would. I ve been here for three hours, and my father-in-law has been waiting for four. Initially, they had him sitting on the floor in the waiting room because he couldn t sit up in a chair, and no one would help him to a bed or room upon arrival. A bald staff member refused to assist, citing hospital policy, and since there were no beds available, he had to continue waiting. Is this a restaurant with a first-come, first-served policy? It s a terrible approach to patient care. The work ethic here is concerning. Instead of attending to patients, I ve witnessed staff gossiping. While waiting for discharge papers for another half hour after the doctor confirmed he s fine and that it s just a flare-up of a previous injury, I saw three nurses in black scrubs laughing about a patient who was genuinely scared he was having a serious issue with his sore throat. It was disheartening to see a nurse find humor in his fear, joking that she d give him some Xanax and send him on his way, all while laughing. As someone who had a family member in pain lying on the floor, I can only imagine what they might be saying about that situation. This experience has been incredibly disappointing. To be honest the only upside of this visit was the helpful Asian doctor who came to see him as soon as I asked someone to look at him 30 minutes after he was let into a room in pediatrics.
