About City Rescue Mission

City Rescue Mission, located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, provides direct services to men and women seeking support in addiction recovery or homelessness. Their services use faith-based and strengths-based approaches to care. City Rescue Mission’s addiction recovery services include treatment outpatient services and services to those who are living in their residential homes for homelessness.

The outpatient program is for individuals who are able to live at home or off-site and still benefit from addiction treatment. This program offers educational classes on addiction, life skills, and social interaction. It also builds structure and accountability in a person’s life. The program also fosters a positive and spiritual environment that is based on the Word of Jesus Christ. Community resources are available to those who have additional needs.

Individual therapy creates the space to explore the psychological challenges associated with the addiction. With the help of a professional, individuals are given the space and direction to talk about and process their emotions. Often this includes unresolved trauma, anger, depression, anxiety, and the need for more control or autonomy in life.

Group therapy involves treatment through the process of connecting in a group setting to discuss and work through mental, emotional, and physical issues. There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

To address the issues of addiction, each drug rehab in Oklahoma is tailored to meet the individual's needs. Treatment may occur in a residential or outpatient setting, and may last from a few days to several months.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

I came here off the street to end up in a hospital, sick. They have 50+ women with no air conditioning thus air circulation. It's literally like a sauna. Salvation Army is smaller therefore MUCH better.* If you're desperate you can get assistance with housing. That is the priority.

I went to take someone needing rest after hospital discharge and told always full. This I cannot possibly imagine with such a huge building and generally speaking 50 people per room for every foot of it's door in fire safety . The door was equal to a Walmart supercenter so its occupancy should be pretty close. Are you a shelter or not as perhaps just get out the way.

My 5 Starts are for Case Manager Jasmine Wesley, and Kitchen Assistant Director AKF ( Anitra Kay Fortenberry) .Anitra , besides from being a great cook, is a person full of life , who lights up the faces and hearts of too many of us . No matter how down and discouraged we are feeling, AKF's amazing hospitality is our remedy. It makes us forget our depression...And as for Jasmine, Her patience, communication skills, problem solving and smiles are essential for all of us at City Rescue Mission... she has a BIG (HEART)...

I lived there for 11 months in 2016 with 3 children and was told that they would help me with a job and housing and they did nothing for us. I ended up back in the streets with my kids.

I was employed from Sept 27th to Dec 20th. There was no onboarding or training. I learned by trail and error. I guess I made too many errors. Myself and one Security guard to the entire women and family center from 5p-11p. The security guard was on his phone or in the break room most of my shift. I had no way of knowing what to except as I wasn t given any training and the position was so new the person who did my interview wasn t even sure what it would look like. I meet with supervisor maybe 3 times (including the time I was let go) and none of those times did I get told something needed to changed.
